We enjoyed staying in Trad guest house, a different experience set away from the hustle and bustle of the main city for a glimpse into how locals live. The place was clean and had all the facilities we needed for a comfortable stay and was still close to public transport to all the main sights. There were so many helpful labels as well. Thank you Trad guest house staff!

Would recommend labelling the buttons inside the bath area as well. The ones at the kitchen were helpful but we didnt see them till later! Also can include labels for the dryer function too.

Clean, facility adequate, quiet area, comfortable stay overall

It took us a while to work out the clay port doesn’t work on the 2 front cooking top. Only works on the rear one. Other pots work on all cooking tops. Also some bowls and plates not suitable for microwave because of metallic painting or lining wish the host could have told us earlier. We nearly caught fire for it. The property is actually smaller than what is shown in the picture. But ok for just 3 of us. Maybe crowded for more people.

Good location, nice character, extremely good value, it was a great place for us to use as a base for exploring Kyoto. Multiple city buses left from within 5 minutes walk which took us to wherever we wanted to go. Convenience stores, restaurants and a fantastic bakery all within walking distance. Good heating.

Pretty small for a family of 5, but for the cost one could not complain!

The accommodation is perfectly located! We had the opportunity to sleep in futon, Japanese traditional bedding and it was really great! All necessary needs were provided and even more with washing machine for instance!! Wa had an amazing stay in Kyoto!! Furthermore, close to the accommodation, a new Japanese traditional restaurant opened recently and the food was amazing!

Mosquito nets were missing on the 1st floor, it would have been perfect otherwise!

Traditional-style Japanese house in a quiet, traditional neighbourhood. Well connected by buses to the sights of Kyoto (use Google Maps to find routes and get an IC card to make paying easy). Overall, great value for money for our 5 nights in Kyoto.

Having a washing machine was great, but it would have been nice to have somewhere to hang washing.

We were very satisfied with the apartment. Although centrally located, it is very quiet. The windows have mosquito nets everywhere, which surprised us very positively.

Only the combination lock was a little difficult to operate. We sometimes needed several attempts.

The owners are very, very helpful and friendly. The house is well equiped and comfortable. But the thing I loved the most was the bathroom...the best, the most spacious we had during our stay in Japan.
