This facility has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shared kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, water kettle, and all the necessary utensils, and it's available for guests to use. The bathroom and shower areas are clean and well-maintained, and they even provide shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and a hairdryer. I stayed in the room next to the common area and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was. The bed was big enough and very cozy. Although the walls are quite thin, everyone was very respectful of the house rules and kept noise to a minimum, which made for a peaceful stay. Several bus stops are within walking distance (about 6 minutes each), and buses run frequently, making it easy to get around. The staff were also very friendly and took the time to show me everything I needed to know. Overall, I would highly recommend this place — it’s clean, comfortable, convenient, and very well-managed!

I loved hostel Mundo and all its guests and workers. It's a charming traditional Japanese home and I really appreciated the common area where we could all chill together. The bed I had in my single room was also the most comfortable I've had in a while. Shout out to the receptionist! :D She's the best!

There's nothing I really disliked. I guess how small and narrow everything was since I'm not the smallest. The floors also make a lot of sound so I hope I didn't wake anyone when I stayed. But those weren't problems with me. More something someone would want to keep in mind.

It may seem cramped, as it is a small building with some narrow passages, but for me it only added character. The walls are thin, therefore you may hear some noise from the inside or from the street, but it was perfectly fine for me, since this is a hostel that you share with others.

This is a traditional japanese building, which is really nice, only 1thing can make some inconvinience, thin walls, but they inform about it, so it isnt surprise. They did all their best making nice stay for me. Its a bit far from the center, but bus stop is 10minutes walk. There are small restaurants and cafes in walking distance.

120 years old house offers experience of authentic japanese living on tatami and futob for very reasonable price. Owner is nice, helpful and fun. It's not in city center, but there are so many things in the neighborhood. Public transport, shops, restaurants, galleries, major castle, laundromat. Owner even provides umbrellas, tea, laundry and bike rental.

Toilets and showers are quite old and very small, might be impossible for plus-sized people to fit in, i am average size and it was tricky for me to use them.

Love the atmosphere. First time living in a wooden house. Quite an experience. I stayed for 10 days.

Noise insulation is really a problem. This can’t be helped. So bring some earplugs if you got trouble sleeping under noise. The bed can be slightly thicker.

Everything is amazing. Traditional japanese house, and it's small. Very cozy and I felt like I was home while I was staying here! Lovely guests and the ambience is just right.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had no complaints with the quality of the facilities. Obviously this is not a fancy hotel but everything was nice, functional, and had a friendly vibe. I liked the location too, it was quiet and pretty close to both bus stops and the train station.

I honestly don't have any complaints, if you need a nice and basic place to stay in Kyoto and it's a good location for what you're there for it's decent and affordable as well.

Since the place is rather small, few travelers are staying in the place, which creates opportunities for better friendships, and opportunities for conversations.

Place is sufficient with the basic necessities, but is kind of run down. The staff exists about 1 hour a day, mainly during check in. Place should receive a little bit more love, it could be really lovely even with its small size.

As you can maybe expect in an old house, the walls were a bit thin and the hot water wasn't very reliable.
