It is a really lovely family run inn. The room we stayed in was quite spacious and they also have a private onsen. The doonas were very thick and cozy. Highlight for us was the breakfast and dinner meals. Delicious japanese style meals and very filling.
We stayed in a Japanese style room with futons which is something we wanted to experience but might not be for everyone. Same as the shared showering /bathing area as it is japanese style, but if you want to try something culturally different go for it. There is a 10:30pm curfew which is understandable but not ideal if you’re looking to stay out late.

The owner and his family was very friendly and hospitable to us, despite the language barrier. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and even helped us on our way when we were rushing for a ski lesson at the ski school. Oyado Nozawaya has its own private onsen if you prefer not to go to the public baths. We also opted for dinner on one of the nights and it was a wonderful experience with all the dishes cooked using produce from the owner's own farms. Overall, we felt like we were staying in a ryokan just without the yukata.
The Nagasaka gondola station is quite a bit of a uphill walk from Oyado Nozawaya, however it is right in the middle of the onsen town where the restaurants and public baths are, and not too far from the Chuo bus terminal too.

Oyado is run by the most unbelievably kind people and has some of the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced in a lifetime of travel. Be sure to have the Japanese breakfast and dinner too!
Nothing, everything was wonderful.

The staff and the location were perfect. I can't remember the last time I was treated so well. Located very close to the bus stop, the best public onsens, great restaurants, and a short walk to the moving walkway. They let me store my luggage after checkout. I was able to spend another full day skiing and visiting onsens. The breakfast was excellent. I didn't order dinner but the prices for both breakfast and dinner were very reasonable. The building even has an elevator.
Very very minor - the heater made a clinking chime sound which sounds like an morning alarm.

The nicest family runs this place. Incredibly helpful and kind. They were just SO nice! The room that we had was nicely updated, two beds and two futons. The mattress was on a firm side, I'm happy with that but ymmv. Very clean. Japanese breakfast and dinner were amazing- definitely ask for them. Delicious dishes, vegetables and rice were home grown:) A short walk to the bus stop and the ski gondola. A hidden gem

Amazing location. Run by a friendly family who go out of their way to ensure your stay is good. Really good breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms with tatami floor mats. Really nice onsen too at the basement so you can relax after a day of skiing. Cannot recommend this enough. Great value for money.
The only thing worth mentioning here is that the rooms (at least the room I stayed in) did not have a private shower. Instead, I bathed in the onsen downstairs which I personally don't mind at all, but maybe not ideal for others.

This is a lovely inn in a very convenient location within the village, easy walking distance to ski lifts. Our room was spacious, warm and comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful, they made us feel very welcome. The dinner was fresh and delicious. Overall a wonderful experience and we hope to stay here again!

Fantastic location right at the center of the town. There is an onsen at the basement with natural spring water, which is super convenient as free public onsen have no bathing facilities and are quite cold before dipping into the onsen. Staff are very friendly and greet you every time they see you.
The window is not double layered, which can be quite cold at night as i didn't know how to set up the air conditioner properly at first. It was getting ok after i set up the air-con with the right setting.

Lovely family run inn. The family were very welcoming and really went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The food at the breakfast was tasty and great value. The location is also convenient, as it is next to the main street and also only a short walk to the ski slopes. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
