The rooms were lovely. Very clean and modern. 4 people easily could sleep in the room. Because the famous Tanuki cafe was closed during our stay (not sure why but probably out of season) they gave us complimentary granola which was very nice. There was tea readily available. Also it's situated in the heart of thr Town near a lot of the soto no yu (outside free onsens of which there are about 13 in the nearby vicinity. We got yukata from the Inn (a small deposit) and went to many onsen.

I had booked 2 rooms for 6 people ( they could hold 8) but i5 seemed the booking didn't pull through properly from b9oking.com to the hotel and they o ly had 4 people booked in. Luckily 2 of our party actually couldn't make it but that wasn't the best start. They were very accommodating about it so not really a complaint but was worrying at the beginning.

Simply exceptional! The place seemed all new, the room we had was quite big for Japanese standard and was a perfect blend of Japanese style and European practicality. Everything you need comes to hand, you get some very nice complementary goods and mpre than that the hotel is near the public onsen (crazy hot beware) and local brewery. There is a restaurant in the same building but it was closed when we stayed.

The parking slot is a nightmare to get there unless you have a kei car. We had a small corolla and had to maneuver a lot to get there without scratching it.

We came in early April and we managed to get private ski lessons. About a 10 min walk to gondola. Dinner options at that time of year are limited but there are a few restaurants open on different days and all close by. We always managed to get a table if we left before 6pm but lots of people after us were turned away.

It was an amazing location right by some great onsens! As I went off season woth my friends, it was a lot cheaper than usual but it was amazing even without the snow. The room was nice and cosy, especially with the fire heater and the beanbags where we played cards and relaxed after our hike into the mountains. The staff were nice and it was a fab time.

The hotel was a little understaffed but it makes sense because it was off season. The food was alright, but it was a little expensive for the quantity in the downstairs cafe but it didnt matter to me because we got a coupon for the first breakfast anyways and to be fair the brownies they had looked massive and super filling. Honestly just being nitpicky. The bunk bed was a bit of a struggle though, slammed my head when my alarm went off and fell off when climbing down, although my friends got a good laugh out of it.

Very welcoming woman at the front desk who reccomended places to go The air con was on as soon as I walked into my room! Well sized room, love the decor, good bathroom (watch your step.) Great location! Beautiful view from my room. Lots of English speaking folk in this area as well. You get to choose 1 meal and 1 drink for breakfast which is located downstairs. Lots of amenities . Wifi works alright but isnt the best. better reason to explore the area! Great onsens everywhere! However the one across the street burned my foot...theres a more tolerable one like 10 minute walk away though! Once again ask the staff. The foot onsen up the hill was my favourite, less than 5 minutes walk. Such a beautiful area, so safe to walk around at night!

There is no elevator and only stairs. So please pack accordingly, but you can easily just leave something downstairs and get it later Keep in mind breakfast is just 1 item and 1 drink! It's not a buffet, however the Japanese breakfast was so good!

Great location in the middle of the village. Nice spacious appartement with nice balcony. Breakfast in the cafe is an option, this was very good. Nice room for your ski stuff. Way to the slopes is right across from the apartments. Clean towels etc every day. Really value for money.

Amazing location. Great food and shops. Close to walks and short distance to ski area. Nice areas nearby for walks too. Staff were friendly and always helpful. We had the teppanyaki dinner on Christmas eve and it was amazing! Authentic, clean comfortable stay and we look forward to return.

Not much of a soundproofing between rooms. First couple of nights were ok with considerate neighbours but on the last night, we had people next door talking real loud all night and could hear every word, every cough and sneeze.

Fantastic central location, very friendly staff, and breakfast/coffee was excellent. The sushi restaurant they have is truly a very amazing 5 star one. I will definitely be back. Lots to do around the town, we rented bikes one day, took gondola to the top, and hiking, mountain biking, great garden at top of gondala.

Great location as it is centrally located although a bit of a hike up to the ski fields (but easy even for someone as unfit as me). Great size room. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Breakfast selection was pretty good and tasty.

Small thing - would have been great if the room was preheated before arriving as it took a while to get to comfortable temperatures on our first day. Also somewhere to place luggage inside the room would be great since we didn’t want to damage the tatami mat floor.

The receptionist Miyuki was very attentive, she asks all relevant questions and answers all of our tourists last minute questions. Despite just staying for one night, Tanuki has left a long lasting memory for me and my wife, we can’t wait for our next holiday with Tanuiki
