Smart Hotel Kutchan was - in my experience - a superb hotel for solo travelers in the summer. The system for using the hotel and etiquette was well-explained. The system for accessing the building outside of front-desk reception staff hours was made clear. There was reasonable privacy in the capsule itself. I made use of the facilities including showers and bathroom which were clean and provided amenities. The location of the hotel is excellent, being only a very short walk away from Kutchan station and nearby shops and restaurants.

I wished to have a shower after I checked out and the hotel offered no facility for showering once checked-out. Some capsule hotels offer the ability to pay for use of the showers but this was not possible here.

Location. If you are visiting Niseko for 2days and not doing so much snow activities this hotel infront of the station is the best decision you can make as public transport at kutchan or in general in niseko is not that frequent The room is big comparing to a typical hotel room in japan Restaurants are nearby and most are in short distance

Security door are not that easy to operate. We don't know if its just us but we had a hard time opening our room😆

The room is really spacious! I never thought to have such a spacious apartment in Japan. There's everything you need inside the apartment and it feels like home! Just a few minutes walk to Coop, 711 and Sukiya is just a few minutes walk too! The location is literally just 3mins wall away from the main train station and bus terminal. Tho this is far from the popular ski resorts.

The staff is super nice and helpful. It’s extremely clean, even though it’s small. It was one of our favorite places in the area

Some of the guests hang up their stinky socks to dry in the room which made me want to vomit. But that’s not really a hotel problem, but more of a manner problem of the guests.

Door codes are a little tricky as they changed during my stay, leading me to contact reception but they were very helpful. Only a single light switch to control all the lights between two rooms.

very clean, nice staff, laundry downstairs. fresh towels and toothbrushes everyday. women’s powder room, toilet and shower which was lovely.

heater didn’t work so was given a plug in one that didn’t work, was quite cold

I liked its central location opposite Kutchan Station. I liked how the dorms weren't just bunks like in Australia but were almost wooden pods with curtains.

I didn't like how little space there was for luggage, taken up by the pods.

Great location! Easy 2 minute walk to the bus and train station. Very close to lots of restaurants, bars and grocery stores.

We didn’t have the breakfast, but I wouldn’t recommend. It looked very lack lustre with few options.

Very clean, excellent rooms & facilities, & close to train & bus station. Easy walk to 7-11 supermarket & restaurants. Will stay again.

Spaces in front of building where the snow piled up high and children had fun playing snow!

Bed has two layers with upper layer larger than the bottom and may be soft for some people.
