Their Kaiseki set dinners were an interesting experience. One should have an appreciation of seafood to truly enjoy these dinners. The quality, service and presentation were excellent. The hot bath facilities was very good, having a variety of different bath water available to try. The staff always keeping the facilities very clean and well stocked with bathe needs.

What we did not expect was the sometimes strong smell of sulfur from the surrounding steam vents. The room was fine. We got used to the smell by the second day, with the exception of my wife who began having breathing issues.

Hotel is super spacious, we have a twin room, new treats given everyday! Also the staff who checked in for us is an intern but really helpful even though she knows little English. Instructions were really clear regarding the onsen, suitable for people who never ever been to an onsen. Souvenir store staff were good too, tries to communicate with us although she spoke little English, - an intern as well.

What I noticed is that the FT staff doesn’t help the interns when they were having a difficult time with customers.

There are about 14 onsens all in one place on the same floor. So amazing. I especially love the waterfall bath - so relaxing, good massage to relieve my tight muscles. There are onsens for high blood pressure, smooth complexiond, circulations, skin conditions digestions and etc. The outdoor onsen gives one the feeling experience of soaking in the forest. They have very good amenities.. We were so pleasantly surprised by their wide buffet breakfast and dinner spread.. Both are excellent! Spoilt for choices. I especially enjoyed their crab and melon ice cream. :) Will return for my next stay!

We did not know about the special dinner you can get here. It would have been nice if the hotel had sent information earlier informing of the dinner and asked if we wanted this to be added to our booking.

I like everything about this hotel. The location is at the end of the Onsen Village. It even has a bus stop, so commuting between attractions is very easy, even for a family with a small child. The staff are invaluable, and most can speak English well, which is very helpful for the family and me. We were greeted well and guided through the hotel facilities. They even have a discounted price for the bear park attraction, so we saved some money and got a direct shuttle to the park. The dining hall staff was also very active and helpful. We were welcomed very well and chaperoned to our table with smiles. The food (two breakfasts and two dinners) is worth the price. The dinner had most of what we had expected (with extra ikura, which the past hotels we stayed at did not offer). Sashimi, tempura, steak (they are very transparent about what meat they are using), crab legs, cakes, ice cream, and dessert are delicious. The breakfast also has a very good offering for us. The Onsen, the main attraction of this hotel, is very spacious. The grand bath can support a massive crowd, and the place is not cramped. The outdoor onsen is also lovely, with various temperatures offered. They also provided many Onsen trial products, such as horse oil shampoo and soap or face scrub soap. The in-house souvenir shop is also a good place to browse since they have most of the things we seek. The bedroom was one of the best things we had on this trip. The bed is not the traditional futon but a foam bed, which is firm, feels nice, and gives us a good night's sleep. The room is spacious, as expected from a traditional tatami room.

I am using the onsen very late, like 8-9 PM, so the drink stall closes early. To get milk after the onsen, I need to walk back to the souvenir shop before 10 PM. There is no automatic vending machine for milk.

The onsen experience is awesome. The view is nice and the facility is good. Very near to hell valley. Just an extra information, if you are travelling by JR train, once you reach noburibetsu station, you will need to take Donan bus to come the hotel. There’s a bus ticket vending machine at the noburibetsu station. Do bear in mind that the Donan last bus ends around 8-9pm. So plan properly if you are coming by public transport. Don’t worry about food, there are restaurant and convenient store nearby.

If you are travelling by public transport and bringing a big luggage, there’s a slope for you to walk up to the hotel.

The onsens were amazing and all the facilities. I had so much fun time soaking up in different onsens and saunas. It was very very relaxing. The location is also very good.

Nothing to do with the hotel but most Chinese tourists were very mannerless. They had no manners in onsen area. Talking loudly, bringing their towel in the water and letting their kids run and shout in onsen area. The hotel should go through the rules with the Chinese tourists during the check in time.

Stayed here thanks to a recommendation from a friend. Really happy that we made this decision. The room was super spacious for the 3 of us and a bunch of luggage. The public onsen consists of 2 levels of various onsen water types plus an outdoor open air onsen. Onsen out in subzero temperatures felt amazing, 10/10 would recommend. Dinner was also wonderful and the staff were friendly. The only regret was that we only managed to book this place for 1 night and we were not able to book it for 2 nights (maybe it was a busy period?). Overall an amazing stay, thank you for the experience.

The traditional room felt authentic and comfortable. There were small snacks on the table and yukata for use. Utilities in the room were complete too. The grand bath was great although there were quite a lot of people. It could get crowded and some visitors were noisy even later at night but that can't be blamed on the hotel. Buffet dinner was amazing. The amount of selection was very good with very fresh salmon, tuna, salmon roe, snow crabs, abalone, scallops. The ebi tempura was delicious too. So many things to eat and enjoy. Breakfast buffet was less luxurious but was good too. The hotel compound has everything basically to enjoy yourself including a souvenir / convenience store, entertain room, a small fitness center, swimming pool with slide and even ramen restaurant if you still want to have supper. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel. There a bus to Chitose airport from there too.

The road going up to hotel lobby is a steep slope which is difficult to go up and down especially when it's snowing and having to handle luggage bag. It would be great if there was a private onsen options in the hotel.
