The sleeping area is clean, spacious and cozy for me, even the sharing toilets and bathrooms also consider not bad. And downstairs is the hotel bar so there is abit noisy but didn't affect me sleeping. The location was good, walkable distance to the subway station, nearby the tourist spots area and consider many restaurants and bars.

Smoking is allowed in the common areas so may smell smoke everywhere except the sleeping room. And the shower location is inconvenient cause it is located next to the bar, so when you need to go back your room at upstairs you will passby many customers from the bar.

This place is unique. While most of the buildings aroud are huge, SappoLodge is a small warm place, with a bar and resturant at the first floor and rooms on the second. When you'll get to the door you'll already feel the difference. Open the door with the big glass sphear and you'll find a lively wooden tavern which include a Japanese tatami area. The bed was comfortable. The location is great!! It's very close to Odori park, to the shopping street, a short walk to Nakajima park, and there are lots of bars and restaurants around. The staff where great and friendly! Thank you Masa san, Mai san and Noria san🙏🏼

Got the worst spot upper bed right in front of the door where you can hear all the noises downstairs on a Saturday night. To take a shower I had to go downstairs bring my clothes towel and toiletries go through the partying people who stare at me, and since the shower is downstairs, the shoes i had to put them on remove them put them on again on your newly showered moist feet then remove again once in the room, not mentioning the tying and untying of shoes and what if you don't like to wear shoes without socks? The staff and volunteers are friendly but I think I'll try another place for the above reason. When I arrived I was told they changed the price of the bed from the time i booked it, few hundred yen isn't a big deal but idk that hostels can do that

The location was really good and I also loved the beds. There was a lot of space and they were also very comfortable. The showers were also good and the hostel was very clean. Also a use thank you for the staff that carried my (very heavy) suitcase up the stairs for me!

Obviously, because it's above a bar it can be noisy around midnight. But they provide free earplugs and I was still able to sleep really well!

This place is fantastic value for money given its an ensuite private room with a bath in the centre of Sapporo with great staff service. The heating worked very well too. They also sometimes run day activities.

I found the room was not super clean eg dust in certain more hidden areas, nail clipping found on the carpet when I first came. Also the room is very small and the view from the room is of a car park.

Very cozy lodge and comfortable sleeping area. The sleeping area is mostly quiet, but you do get noise from the bar below.

They allow smoking in the common areas, so everything smells like smoke outside of the sleeping room. Also the shower location is a bit awkward located next to the bar. Lockers are small.

Honestly everything was amazing. Service was great. Place was clean and the style of it was super cozy. Staff is super inviting and food/drink were great. Happily would stay again.

My curtain was slightly broken, that's really it though.

The facilities were all very clean and in the few interactions we had with the staff they were friendly. There was lots of young travellers staying there and so it was nice to speak to and get to know some of them. It was also quite central to Sapporo and close to a train station.

We were staying in the Japanese style room which was very small. Enough space to have a bin and a clothes rack which was nice but with 3 beds in there it was a tight squeeze. We also found it slightly odd that after showering you had to walk past the bar area so if you shower at night you were walking past a lot of people on the way back to the room. Not a big deal though

I like the location. It’s convenient and is near many bus stop.

The showers were downstairs and a little inconvenient as coming downstairs to take a shower. You have to carry everything all the way down and all the way up on the stairs.

I have been greeted by helpful and friendly staff. In the evening at 6pm the ground floor turns into an izakaya. I had the honor of trying some dishes. The staff gives you tips and advice about Sapporo and Hokkaido. //I will definitely come again. Minh L
