Location of this hotel is unique on Shodoshima island, including fantastic view of sunset while dining (or just sitting in the lobby!). It also connects to a quiet park full of Sakura trees. Public bathes have great view too. Facility is not brand new, but the experience of using them was greatly comfortable. Most importantly, service is outstanding. We are a family of 5, not speaking Japanese, the hotel front desk helped us a lot on transportation to and from Ikeda port and local supermarket. we cooked in our family suite and enjoyed three days stay. We highly appreciate the service from hotel staff. Thank you very much!

The hotel is situated on a hill top with views, without a car it's difficult to reach. It provides most facilities and amenties. And it is worthy to book both dinner and breakfast.

The hotel seems an old style Japanese inn. For a foreigner, it was a fresh and interesting experience, however, it was a bit difficult to communicate before arrival, as the staff just didn't reply or provide any information.

Quaint, old school 20th century Japanese hotel. Nice traditional room. The location is very out of the way, a taxi to and from the town is necessary if you don’t have a car.

Spectacular location. Good staff, nice food.

The building is situated on a hill top with spectacular views. Staff were super helpful. However, it is advisable to hire a vehicle, as it is prohibitive to walk anywhere. Dinner and Breakfast was not available on all days. When it was, breakfast was reasonable. We opted to get pre-made food for dinner and eat in our room - not ideal. Onsen was great, a bit tired, but served its purpose.

The beds are western style but extremely hard. as are the pillows. I think the whole place is original '70's, but very clean.

We stayed in the family lodge. The location is great (if you’ve got a car) and the views are great. We did not come across any bugs in the house, which is something we always appreciate when staying in the countryside.

The whole place is somewhat underwhelming, despite its great potential. It feels that it has been lacking investment for about 30 years and it is ageing. The place offers low comfort levels due to a range of things: clogging sink, dirty curtains, torn sofa cover, broken things everywhere. It didn’t have a great clean feeling, although it would be unfair to say it wasn’t. Disposable or sanitized slippers would also be nice.
