This hotel is conveniently located at a 4min walk from the JR Shimbashi station which made it really easy and cheap for my sister and I to commute to other JR lines for day trips (perfect for tourists). I was surprised with how spacious our hotel room was given it is in the centre of Tokyo. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and check-in and out processes were simple and quick. They even allowed us to storage our luggage at the front desk for free before we checked in and after we checked out of the hotel (our flight was at night time and we wanted to do extra shopping). Room cleaning was excellent!

The only negative I had from this hotel was the strong cigarettes smell that was really strong in the hallways and in the hotel room itself. My sister and I are both non smokers and sensitive to smoke, and didn't expect the strong smell when we first went into the room. We had to open the window and blast the aircon the first few days of our stay to get rid of the cigarettes smell. We found that the cigarettes smell came back after we requested room cleaning - assuming because our room door stays open during the whole room cleaning process and the cigarettes smell from the hallway would seep through into our room.

The hotel is located very conveniently, close to the train station and metro station. And also very close to one of the most interesting areas of Tokyo - Ginza.

For the first time I found myself in a smoking room, which had a strong smell of cigarettes. After asking to change the room, I was offered an even smaller room than I had. Although all the rooms in the hotel are very small. We had to ventilate the room all day while we walked around the city. You can't open the window at night because you can hear the passing trains very loudly.

Close to the station, friendly and helpful staff. Took their time to help me figure out how to use the luggage service to the Airport. It has a Kombini below the hotel, very convenient! The bed was very comfortable! They have complimentary items to get for the x amount of days you're staying, a laundry room, microwave and other services available.

The rooms were quite small, compared to the pictures, but it did not bother me that much.

Liked the proximity to JR Shimbashi station and the Ginza subway line. Lots of restaurants around and the Ootoya on the 2nd floor was handy when you want a meal that’s good and not have to venture far! Family mart on 1st floor was also great.

This is a generic Japanese hotel with small rooms. We stayed here at the start and end of our 3 week holiday in superior double room which was just big enough for 2 of us and 2 suitcases. It's a short walk to Shimbashi station with great connections all over Tokyo. It's in a vibrant area with many shops and restaurants and not overly touristy. The restaurant on the 2nd floor is an Ootoya, which serves inexpensive home-style Japanese meals, which we made good use of.

The reception area is a little small with no seating. Not a problem for us but might be if you are travelling in a group.

Excellent location, close to the metro and Ginza shopping areas. Conbini is on the ground floor which was great to grab some food and snacks on the way back to the room. We decided to take a bus to the airport, so the bust stop was only about 10 mins walk from the hotel.

There is no wardrobe in the rooms — just a few hangers for clothes. But it was the same in all the other hotels I stayed at during my trip, so I assume it’s pretty common. We only had a small amount of luggage, so it wasn’t an issue for us. The hotel is close to the train station, so you might hear some noise, but we were always tired after a full day and didn’t mind it at all.

We (2 adults and a child) stayed in a twin room and there was space for our luggages and moving around the room without bumping into each other. The room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. Inside the desk drawer is a charger and flashlight. We were on the 12th floor and could still hear the train somewhat, but were able to sleep after a long day. Reception provides earplugs as well as plenty of other amenities. You can choose which days you want your room cleaned or just new towels by putting the sign on the door. The live washing machine status on the TV was handy. We were able to do our washing in the evening. It costs 500 yen for washing and drying (combined) 3kg. Some of the clothes were still slightly damp, so we placed them around the room and they were dry by morning. Or you can dry for extra 30 min for 100 yen. Staff could speak some English, and always greeted us. We had no issues with communication. I sent some messages over booking.com chat and received prompt responses. Staff at the Japanese restaurant were also kind. Breakfast system was great. You can choose to have a Japanese set menu breakfast (changes daily, but always grilled fish and chicken) in the main building or western breakfast (we never tried this, as it was pizza and pasta) in the annex. You can also use it as 800 yen voucher for Family Mart downstairs - great for early morning starts when you don't have time for breakfast. The location at Shimbashi is extremely convenient. There are direct lines to Yokohama/Kamakura, Asakusa, Shibuya, Odaiba, Narita and Haneda airports and of course the Yamanote line. We only had to change trains once, to get to Disneyland. Getting to Shinjuku is not as fast and convenient, and many day tours start from there, but we stayed at another location on those days. Ginza is literally around the corner. You can also walk towards Tokyo station. Shimbashi has a ton of restaurants. Ginza also has many high end options.

Nothing. It's a great hotel and area. We'd definitely stay again.

Our second stay at this hotel, staff are friendly and speak a little English. They replied back to a question I had before stating within the hour. Check in and out is very easy. Good selection of amenities if you forget any they even had face masks which was great after a long haul flight and dry skin. Room is typical Japanese style which is small though the layout is good so you can fit 2 large suitcases. The location is our favourite, close to several main train lines, plus heaps of great places to eat a short walk away.

We had a room on level 10 facing the train tracks, trains were loud, they stop running around midnight however there was quite a few sirens from the nearby main road which woke us up. Ear plugs were available at reception. Our first stay was facing the opposite direction and was very quiet. Luck of the draw I guess.

The location is the best thing about this Sotetsu. So close to the Shimbashi station entrances, walking distance to the amazing below-train-track restaurants leading to Yurakucho station, very close to Ginza Chuo Dori and surrounded by the amazing stores/restaurants of Shimbashi itself. Can't get better than this! Strongly recommend selecting the 150ft room instead of the 172 or 139ft rooms as they feel more cramped. The 150ft room has a closet below the table for storage, which is a great bonus. The pillows are a bit hard, but the bed is perfectly comfortable. The blanket is pluffy and so comfy too. As usual the hard-working staff provid really high standard service in the servicing/cleaning and at reception.

The provision of the black humidifier and many coat hangers adds clutter to the room...seems unneccssary. The laundry machines don't dry clothes fast/powerfully enough. There needs to be specification that every room should be for one person only. A couple in there would feel extremely cramped.

The breakfast was interesting, a choice of styles, we opted for the more western. Three ways to have breakfast all off site in adjoining facilities. All requests were made were met, like more pillows, luggage pick up had been registered at the hotel so no problems with pick up. Luggage hold was available. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional.

Our room seemed smaller than our reservation type. The bed was jammed up against the wall. Not uncommon. But when you have dodgy knees or older or both, this is an issue. A smaller desk or small table would allow the bed to come off the wall enough to scoot through. Even moving or rotating the desk 90degrees would work too.
