It’s an excellent location, with access to many POI . Have a sumptuous range of Buffet ( B’fast & Dinner) I’d recommend half board in this hotel ..

Not much to fault this hotel , but I noticed while going to the Onsen , there is a notice regarding guest with Tattoos to refrain from going into the Onsen, this may be out of date , as many guests have tattoos as a form of art but not the YAKUZA type . It’s time to change the mind.

Service, professionalism from staff is A+ - I would always see at least one staff member clearing snow or making sure the lounges look neat and tidy at all times, staff were always greeting guests. The hotel facilities, view from our room, room comfort level + private bath, amenities, bf & dinner buffet all top notch. After checking in and the moment we stepped into our room, the ambience was already set up with calming music to go with the view. One of the best retreat stays we’ve done, and certainly the best in Shiretoko. We enjoyed our stay, and felt very well rested. We will definitely stay here again. Shiretoko has alot to offer.

The only downside we experienced was combining two bookings. Our keycard did not work on the day of the second booking and we had to go down to reception to fix it. It was a slight slip of the hotel, but nothing major.

Really out of our expectations. Starting from the services and greetings from staffs, to the entire activities offered. The most expectional was the food, it was buffet, but really michelin style buffet. Before our stay, we hesitated in adding dinner and breakfast to our package, but now we are grateful we did. The food isn’t just premade and placed on the counter for you to take, there was about 4-6 chefs up there and cook fresh plate to your orders. Each chef has a signature dish, so there was a great variety. Not to mention about, the interior and the book selection. Both me and my boyfriend were art major students, the selection of books really required great taste and an amount of knowledge in art. Especially there was a corner for all photographies done over the world in the same latitude as Shiretoko. Would book again.

Small con about the luggage. When we drive-in, the staff had our luggage taken on a cart while we checked-in. Afterwards, nobody told us that we had to take the cart ourselves to the room. Regarding it’s a 4star hotel, we assumed that they will take our luggage straight to the room.

Great location, with convenience stores, restaurants, cruise tours, hiking trails all nearby within walking distance. Property was beautiful and well maintained. Room with private onsen and terrace was fantastic with gorgeous views. Lounge area with music and food was excellent. Staff superb and spoke/understood English well. Breakfast abundant and varied. Ice cream shop was a treat.

One minor feedback is that two chairs on the terrace would have been great (there was only one, we ended up taking a footstool from inside the room so we could both sit outside to enjoy the view)

The location was excellent – we enjoyed a wildlife snow shoeing tour, and eagle viewing during our stay. We had a superb ocean and harbour view from our room. Especially the waves crashing onto the breakwater and freezing. We experienced a major winter storm during our stay which we were able to view from our room. The food was excellent if expensive all inclusive system. When the storm shut down bus and train connections the staff were exceptional helpful in organising a taxi to enable us to make our airport connection on time, despite the very high demand due to the snow disruption.

The evening meal was pricy and alternative places to eat limited during the winter.

Window with sea/harbour view was very nice Location of the hotel near the national park is very nice Staff at the buffet was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly Outdoor hot footbath!

We stayed for 3 nights, we basically were offered the same buffet options each night. There was a grill restaurant but it was either not open or we could not dine there for some reason not clear to us. For the final night we asked if there was another option to dine and they referred us to a "sister hotel" in town. We could have dinner there as part of our package at the Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel. This was all wonderfully arranged by one lady from the staff and the buffet in the other restaurant was way bigger and different. Nice for a change.

Everything. The ambiance is good. Love the Lounge with the piano music, spaciousness and free drinks and snacks. The staff are so considerate and helpful. Knowing I have a problem with walking, a table for lunch and dinner was specially reserved for me. I was also given a trolley to use. The hotel is just beautiful and a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Nothing

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous from the moment you walk into the lobby/check in area. The staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to ensure the guests are taken care of; this happened at all times. I wish I could have spent another night to experience more of the facility and the local area as well. The view of the ocean from my room was incredible, especially since it was snowing the entire first day and night I was there.

the slip on shoes provided to walk around the hotel were too small for my feet.

Exceptional - from pulling up into the lobby the attentiveness, the lovely Okhotsk room with private onsen overlooking the harbour, 24hour lobby lounge access for complimentary drinks and the order to serve dinner and breakfast. Despite being very popular, the hotel never felt overwhelmingly crowded.

It’s a premium experience so some may baulk at the price, but you get top notch service.

I was anxious to arrange a taxi to my next stop at Lake Akan Not one of the Japanese staff was willing except to explore this except a very willing and kind Russian member of staff, Nicholas. I am so very happy he easily made this quite possible. Thank you so much Nicholas
