Onn Yuda Onsen far exceeded our expectations. This was a stopover after visiting Yamaguchi, and Yuda Onsen is really close; its small and charming train station only 10 mn walk from the hotel (look for the numerous, legendary foxes along your way!) and there is a very convenient public parking next door. The hotel is quite new, and our room, though on the small side, had everything we wished for. The baths are shared with the next door, more upmarket hotel, and so is the dining/breakfast room : a covered path links them. If you want more privacy, there is a lovely private bath in Onn Yuda Onsen premices; 3500 y for an hour. All spaces are thoughtfully designed with understated elegance and an attention to practicality. There is a (discreet) vending machine with cold water and tea on 1st floor so you don't need to go out, and a microwave. The buffet breakfast is good, with a large range of produits. The people at the reception were lovely. And the price was, for this quality, a bargain.

Location: There are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores around. A bus stop to Rurikoji temple and other attractions nearby. Onsen: Really nice. My skin felt smooth and shiny after the bath.

Non-english speaking staff: They made it clear in the hotel page, so it wasn't a surprise. Fortunately, I went with a friend who spoke Japanese and we somehow managed, it would have been really difficult otherwise since the staff has the tendency to ignore you if you don't speak Japanese. Bed: The pillow was too hard and uncomfortable. I stayed 2 nights and had an unrestful sleep for both.

Beautiful rooms and free access to relaxing onsen. Free ice and chilled drinking water was a great amenity during the summer heat waves. Private onsen is also available at an additional charge and accommodates babies well.

It seems that tattoos are still a contentious topic for the onsen. We were told that the onsen does not ban tattooed people from entering but if another customer complains, you will be asked to leave. You are not advised this in advance by the hotel.

Relatively spacious corner room on a higher floor with a good view of the distant hills, half-tatami concept, room is clean and comfortable enough with plenty of amenities. Conveniently located 7 mins walk away from Yudaonsen station.

Bathroom was a little cramped and water coming out from the shower could be intermittently warm/cold. No laundromat available within the hotel premises.

Great onsen and very large room. We received a mail from the hotel that there would be no English speaking staff but they in fact did speaks English. It is a great hotel if you want to explore Yamaguchi and surroundings. Highly recommended.

Sound proofing could be a bit better or maybe we just had noisy neighbours

The hotel was a short walk from Yuda Onsen Station. Check in was a breeze (the staff were patient with my lack of Japanese and communicated capably in English) and the room was modern and spotlessly clean. My partner and I enjoyed the private onsen room (¥3500/hr in Mar 2024). Breakfast in the hotel’s adjoining restaurant was delicious with a generous and varied buffet spread.

Upper version of dormy inn. Mixture of conpemporary hotel and traditional ryokan style. I choose a little bigger room because of 2 night stay and am completely satisfied with all hotel facilities: Room, Public bath, Breakfast and Staffs' manner. Even no shoes in hoyel indoor.

The room is exceptionally spacious and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and polite. There is a private bath available for reservation at an additional fee, which added a delightful touch to our stay. Overall, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and worth every penny. We will definitely return if the opportunity arises!

Clean, well organised and well maintained. Helpful and pleasant staff. Excellent bedroom with clean bathroom.

I am not fond of hard pillows, which are the norm in Japan. No provision of softer pillows for soft westerners!
