A conveniently located hotel if you are going hiking in Mount Hiko. The dinner and breakfast were definitely worth the stay. The room had a beautiful view (2nd floor) and, even though the futons were maybe not the most most comfortable ones we had in Japan, we slept very good. Staff, although limited in english, were very kind and thanks to google translate all went fine!

The onsen is very nice, but with not so many facilities as in other hotels we have visited on our stay (no sauna, no cream in the mens one...). Breakfast was purely japanese (delicious), but maybe a little fruit would be nice, for the simpler stomachs.

We love outdoor onsen and both of them are nice. Once we entered the hotel, the reception is very impressive and the staff are friendly.

The room is a bit old and the walkway to the guest rooms needs renovation.

Love it, peaceful and tranquil, big room with great facility, outdoor onsen was great, and excellent service by hotel staff. Special accolades to front desk Manager Ma Chang Yong who went out of his way to help us make dinner reservations at izakaya Fukuzo (as we arrived late and dinner at hotel was already fully booked). He also provided detail transport info to the izakaya. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, great service and food super oishi 😀❤️

Private onsen was below our expectations,

The location was fine for us because we had a hire car. It would be a taxi ride from the station. Lovely views from our room down to the town. We had a superb evening meal included in our booking - around 7 delicious courses. Friendly, helpful staff. My one small criticism is that our room was a bit on the cold side. It’s unseasonably cold at the moment and we could have done with some heating!

Room is very spacious, the bigger that we have ever stayed in a Japan. Staff is very friendly and approachable. The best one of them all is the staff gave us a ride to the train station on our day of checking out as taxis weren't available for us to book. So really appreciative of them for doing that! 😍

Location is a bit far off from the main street and train station.

The room is spacious, clean and comfy. Onsen is good but quite limited to 4-5 person at one time. Breakfast and Dinner was good. Walking distance to the main tourist attraction in Yufuin and Kinrin Lake. They free nice yukata for the ladies and men. Very enjoyable stay.

Decor of the room was a little bit dated, but that is probably the only tiny negative and it's quite subjective

Location

The private bath should not go by time slot booking should be go by who want to use by label the door available or occupied. Cause not all will use 45 min. This can make full use of the private bath.

Room was spacious and comfortable with a giant bed. Bathroom was high quality and the onsen was very fancy. We enjoyed our short stay..

We didn't have a car so the walk from the train station was a little bit long. Not an issue for anyone with their own transport.

The kaiseki dinner is good but not as extravagant as some other hotels, could have been better. Nice hotel and Zen style at the entrance. Location needs to have car to be accessible.

Onsen too small.
