Severin offers a nice balance between the natural beauty of Mombassa and the modern comforts of a well managed beach resort. The buffet food was good at every meal, breakfast and dinner. The fresh local produce was expertly prepared. I appreciated the attention to healthy options including the morning glass of detox juice and the sunflower seeds, fresh yogurt and muesli. The vegetable dishes at dinner were so tasty. Every nite there were so many delicious options. The fry stations provided a wonderful selection of meats and seafood. Simple dishes including coleslaw and salads were turned into wonderful creations with seafood, fruits, avocado and nuts. I appreciated the pictorial history of the resort showing the family roots from Europe and the local Kenyan involvement. The current manager, Tuva, can be seen throughout the resort actively participating in the operations of the facility. The staff is of the highest calibre, genuinely friendly and sincerely concerned with each clients enjoyment. Around 4:00pm each day a large troop of monkeys appear in the beautiful grass and garden area between the buildings housing the guests rooms. They are so much more entertaining and cooperative than the squirrels and raccoons of Canada. The beach has many local vendors and service providers who are all respectful of the hotel guests and can provide many options to enhance your stay. I highly recommend a snorkel excursion aboard the Mullah with captain Sinbad. It was one of the most spectacular swims, with giant coral, rays, sea snakes, a wide variety of coloured fish and the largest and fastest lobster I have ever seen. Sinbad goes on the swim with the group expertly pointing out the attractions. Bring your underwater camera. The tide goes way out each day so get your swims in early and late. This is convenient avoiding the midday sun. Water shoes are helpful to explore the expanded beach area at low tide.

Some of the entrainment was fun but on a few nites it was little dull. I appreciate the wide variety of gusts, so this is understandable.

My young adults said WiFi kept cutting off but I told them they are in holiday so really no need for the WIfi 🤔 Personally I felt the night of saxophone entertainment too long- maybe 1hour 🎷 and the rest a band like the other nights. However I am aware the hotel is able to vary entertainment in accordance with the clients visiting

Everything. This place is fabulous. The service was exceptional. The food was excellent, and I travel the world and am not easily impressed. But the dinner buffet every night was phenomenal.

My room was adjacent to the entertainment area where they had nightly live music. Every night, it was excellent, but as I enjoy my evenings quiet, that wasn't great. But it was minor. And as I said, the entertainment was good and not overly loud. And most guests wouldn't even notice it. Also, with my door closed, I could barely hear it, so it didn't interfere with my sleep. NOT a complaint, at all, just the one and only thing that I would change. But if I were younger, I would have loved it.

The property had an excellent beachfront and two lovely swimming pools. The rooms were clean, large and well maintained. Check-in was very smooth and our rooms were upgraded. Very friendly and professional staff, especially in the restaurant areas and reception. There was an ala carte and a buffet restaurant and we opted for the ala carte option where the food was excellent and well prepared. Cocktails were done well and really good. We loved the fact that there were plenty of loungers around the pool area and on the grass area facing the beachfront. We went to the property as part of our son’s birthday weekend and we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely and delicious birthday cake waiting for us in our room when we came back from dinner on our son’s birthday!. Very thoughtful touch!. A special thank you to Mr Tuva, the General Manager, who was ever present and really interacted well with all guests and ensured everyone was well looked after. A special mention to Dorca, the waitress at the restaurant, who really looked after us very well during our stay.

I moved to this hotel last minute after I was not happy with my airBnB elsewhere. When I say this was the best decision I made for myself on this trip! From the minute I checked in the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming me - offering me a welcome beverage and taking care of my whole check-in process for me while I took a seat. After I broke my nail during the check-in process, one of the staff members Hare noticed this and volunteered to take me to their spa where they immediately repaired it for me while another staff member took my bags to my room. The rest of my stay remained consistent as one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. The quality of the service here is second to none - they are all so kind, accommodating, attentive and flexible. The premises were clean and well-maintained and the food (I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner) was amazing! Despite being a solo traveler, I didn’t feel alone at all.

Overall excellent experience. Clean, well maintained (unlike so many other locations in Mombasa) and satisfying throughout a week’s stay. Beach area is cared for, swimming pools pleasant. Green areas properly provided. Breakfast most opulent and lovely atmosphere. Very nice rain shower in the bathroom. We surmised that seasonal factors could play into our judgment as the impression could be a bit different when the hotel is full. Praise the professional staff!

Efforts could surely be made when it comes to the à la carte menu. Thé presentation is fine but the food is not really impressive neither by selection nor by taste. Note that gin tonics can be served with excellent local gins. A question: why are taxis checked at the gate with below mirrors as if they were serious risk vehicles?

The hotel is beautiful, food delicious, staff extremely helpful and friendly. We couldn't expect more. Highly recommended

The staff were fantastic and really helpful, and the view, environment and food was perfect. I was only there for one day/night and I had an early start but the experience was so relaxing and special it was worth the short stay. I really liked the architecture and layout, which was inspired by traditional local roundhouse architecture and lovely open spaces to sit and relax. I had an amazing meal in the Dhow restaurant, which had beautiful traditional interiors and ambience and the service was great. The beach bar was also a lovely setting for a sunset drink, even when the wind picked up. One thing I really appreciated was the sensitive outdoor lighting, which really matched the vibe and importantly is better for biodiversity.

The road to the resort is under construction so it is very bumpy, just to be warned it may not be a relaxing drive to get there.

I stayed a week over New Year’s Eve with my family in this beautiful resort. Extremely welcoming staff, newly refurbished rooms, and amazing facilities. A warm acknowledgment to Tuva, the general manager, and all the staff for ensuring excellence in hotel services. A special mention also to chef Charles and its staff, who ran a 24/7 kitchen serving amazing food from all over the world. Also thanks to Masha, our hospitality assistant for making our stay comfortable. And last but not least, a big shout out to the gardeners, security and pool staff for keeping the hotel on point. It has been a memorable vacation and we look forward to coming back!

We stayed in the Deluxe rooms and i must say they were very comfortable, spacious and clean. The beach location was perfect away from the crowds of the public beach. Two pools, one with a non-heated jacuzzi and small slide. Very clean and well maintained lawns. Breakfast was good.

We had a bad experience at the restaurant on the first day but the restaurant manager stepped in and took corrective action. We tried the hotel buffet for dinner on one of the nights and while the food was okay, desserts were very limited.
