Caution: When booking Sweetwaters camp, be aware there are now two distinct properties: Maisha and Serena. We accidentally booked Sweetwaters Maisha, thinking it was the well-established Sweetwaters Serena camp located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy. We then relocated to Sweetwaters Serena the following day. The two experiences are not comparable. If you're seeking a relaxing experience in nature with breathtaking views, choose Serena. Only consider Maisha if spacious tents and dining are your top priorities. - Located within the park with convenient access - Green and lush surroundings - Faces the waterhole with salt lick and offers spectacular Mount Kenya views - Intimate, cozy tented accommodations - Better value for money than Sweetwaters Manisha Camp

No buffet option for dining, only a la carte, which was a bit slow.

The reception was superb, the staff were very attentive and helpful, the facility was very much to our liking, the overall ambience was superb and of course, the living quarters and food was excellent. If I may, there were memorable people who made our stay comfortable. This include Harrison who attended to our food needs and was most pleasant. I cannot forget Doyo also, who while is a security personnel at the resort, was most helpful with his vast knowledge the premises and fauna residing within it.

I could have stayed longer but that would have meant doubling my size owing to the copious amounts of food 'on tap'.

Hard to fault it as a facility! Really excellent with lovely staff, decent food, nice pool area. The actual tents are really something special and the view on to the watering hole is magnicicent.

The entry fee in to Ol Pejeta! We stayed at Serena for one night and were charged $110 per person for 24 hours (had to literally exit at the same time we came in otherwise we would be charged again!). I think maybe needs to be made clearer on the website listing. It doubled the price that we paid for the hotel (which we had originally thought was reasonably priced). When you look at the Serena Sweetwater price, make sure you add on $110 (plus your car entry fee) per night.. We weren't there to use the reserve for a full day safari, we came to use the beautiful hotel, so it was a big shock.

The food variety and quality were excellent; the staff were beyond excellent. It was our 5th visit this year so the staff know us but they are so welcoming to everyone. The rooms are lovely, beds comfortable, hot water bottles, water in room, gardens well kept. The Conservancy is also extremely special and so far having visited five times this year has not let us down, and we have always seen lion, elephant, rhino, and everything else you would expect!

This is just a minor bug, but it would be fantastic to have a door between the toilet and the bathroom for privacy, as well as for hygiene sake, as currently it is just a shower curtain.

Excellent get away. The food was also as good as Serena always gets to be

It was super cold even if there are hot water bottles. Investing in electric blankets might have made the stay more comfortable. If you're a light sleeper, remember you're in the wild. You'll be woken up by the loud singing of birds. Lol

Good and reasonably priced acomodation with waterhole in front of most tents, good restaurant, swimming pool. Very good point to start self drive safaris in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, however we found western areas 7 - 10 km behind the bridge, along the river the most interesting.

Tents do not have indyvidual safes, what is inconvinient. Fees for entering the conservancy increase the cost of staying considerably, to be felt especialy if you stay longer (we stayed 4 nights and anyway we did like it very much). In my opinion if you pay for the camp you should not pay double for entrance and presence within the conservacy.

Lovely tent; the staff and service is WORLD CLASS. The food is good with big buffets and a lot of Indian options on the buffet. The most amazing place to see elephants, lions, 3 types of rhino, foxes, jackals, hyenas, cheetahs and so much else! The water hole attracts a lot of action. The conservancy is generally so well run. We go every year (this time are booked for 3 trips). Wonderful.

Took 30 minutes to get someone to our tent one night to bring a spray to kill a big spider even though we called 3 times for service. The food range needs to be switched up a bit- maybe try different cuisines? The desserts weren’t exciting…

Great location, my room was at the perfect location near the waterhole. Food was excellent, had no issues with the buffet and service was good. Game drives are absolutely worth it, I managed to see Lions both at night and day.

If you do the Lion tracking which is offered by the National Park, do not do it after a heavy day of rain for the next day, I didn't see anything and was waste of money.

Fabulous location where you can step out of your tent and enjoy the sight of zebras, elephants, rhinos etc. Good buffet included and staff were very helpful.

Excellent location to view animals in their own habitat. The facility is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are excellent .

I feel the food on the buffet could also have many more variations .
