We had a fabulous experience at the Sonesta. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially Keira on reception, nothing too much trouble, and always with a smile..Romeo on the door makes you feel like family, we met Kindle as well, so nice and our cleaning lady (sorry didn't get her name but she cleaned our room 807 for the last week of May), it was always left really nice and clean every day. The room was very spacious with 2 big double beds for me and my friend, beds were also very comfortable. Lots of storage space, large closets and plenty of drawers. Ironing facilities, safe, small fridge, TV and coffee machine with complimentary tea and coffee, everything you need.. Our view was amazing of the bustling 3rd Avenue. Despite other reviews of the bad noise levels and being a light sleeper the sound levels were not bad at all..the window was doubled glazed...the only noise really was the sirens but it is New York!! I think that this adds to the experience!. The WiFi was good. The location is great..10 to 20 minutes to all the main attractions. Compared to other hotels we looked at the price was very reasonable for New York. I would definitely stay here again.

Some of the furniture was a little old but that's not a major problem!.

We stay there when we go to NYC because the rooms are spacious, especially if we need to add a crib. They also send emails with offers for an upgrade two weeks before the beginning of the stay. This time, we had a bedroom + living-room + terrace. In the end, it is really worth it for the quality.

We had asked for a crib to be installed in the room. I emailed them in advance. When we showed up, we had to request the crib and the handyman didn't help us set it up. We were struggling a bit. I wish they had followed through before we arrived, especially as we came late around 7pm.

Great rooms and very large by NYC standards. Kitchenette is a big selling point. Excellent location for mid town, and great food and drink around the hotel.

Occasional long wait for lifts. All NY buildings have similar problems though.

Lovely hotel on the mid city east side. Everyone was nice and accommodating for the most part but there have been some hiccups in service and followups

It’s been 10days and I still did not receive the $200 deposit from checkin, I left everything in order and clean, even took pictures and videos. Also when I left the doorman convinced me to use their car service and not call my uber, he said it was a fixed rate of 100 but when I got to the airport I was prompted to also pay tax although the driver was independent and ofc tip as well, it ended up more than an uber and not worth it tbh.

because of the near street， every early morning can hear the loud car noise, including the police car ,ambulance, fire engines…🥺

I went with my daughter so we wanted a nice boutique hotel close to everything in a safe spot. This hotel nailed it ! A great location not too far from Fifth and Rockefeller. A subway close by too. Walked past the lovely St Patrick’s cathedral most days to and from the lobby. Breakfast not available inside the hotel but good places close by. 20 min walk to Central Park. ‘Romeo’ who has been mentioned on previous reviews lived up to his friendly reputation and we loved the “welcome home sweetie” he said to us often.

We were 3rd floor roadside and you could hear noise but then it is NYC so make sure you take ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Very clean and spacious room. Bed was very comfortable. Room had a desk and chairs. Large window overlooking the street. Very friendly staff and doormen. Conveniently located relative to midtown Manhattan and subways. Easy access to and from La Guardia Airport (about 20 minutes by ride-share).

There's a cupboard credit of $10, which is good. But you have to be sure to confirm with the desk staff what you take. I was charged for items I didn't take. The staff were very good about it and took it off my bill after I said I didn't take it. But I think it would be better to avoid such situations by having a better system in place to confirm what guests take. Update: The second time I stayed at the hotel, I was certain to give the desk my room number and show them what I was taking for my credit. No problem this time. Great hotel. I hope to stay more often.

The room was very, very nice! Comfortable bed, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. Also the $10 credit to use for the “cupboard” was nice too. Staff were extremely nice and helpful.

There were only 2 things I think that need improvement. One ( and this is HUGE today) is to have ports to recharge devices. Most hotels today have them built into the desk and on the lamp base. We plugged ours into the wall by the bed and later learned when we turned off the lamp, it cut the power to the plug for our device!! Second, is the need for an exhaust fan for the bathroom. The room is very small so after a shower everything in the room is wet with steam.

Spacious, clean room with large kitchen in room. We love the location and have stayed mid-town for years. This was by far the best value and most hospitable staff we have ever experienced in NYC. Front desk staff were so friendly and accommodating as well as the front doorman (Romeo). Romeo greeted us and made us feel right at home through the car valet and our bags. Through the remainder of our or visit he remembered our names and addressed us with Mr. and Mrs. Hogue. Customer service we haven't seen in a long time and we have traveled the world. Well done Fifty Sonesta. We will be back.

Our room was large and very comfortable. Everything was clean and organized. They kept our bags while we walked around the city before checking in. I would like to highlight the staff who greeted us at the door and those who kept our bags, they were extremely friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the receptionist was rude, but the other staff did a great job and didn't take away the bad impression of this girl. Parking is quite expensive, my car was a minivan and cost $150.00 for less than 48 hours, but it was worth it for the convenience. In the end, we were very satisfied and would stay there again.
