The front staff was friendly. We were cold on the first night because the weather took a downturn and on the second night they gave us a blanket. The room was clean and so is the building. It's a really nice view if you want to sit on the second floor and look outside to the river. You can also view the front but there's more noise there. I was concerned about staying at these hotels because of many bad reviews for them. We took a chance on this one and the price is a bit more than a Thailand hotel. However, it's certainly not that bad. I think the hotels and guest houses are finally making some money so they can upgrade their places. That's what the 2-day stay for Visa run is doing for them and it's fine with me. I'm used to the harder bed mattresses in Asia so it did not bother me.

Was super comfortable and clean for a one night stay before taking the slow boat. Nice room, beautiful sunset views from the shared terrace. Staff helped book slow boat tickets when we arrived in Huay Xi. We were worried about not getting seats up front, so he called ahead of time and ended up getting better seats than promised. The shower has hot water and good pressure. No shampoo provided, so make sure to bring some. Free coffee and tea in the morning and two bottles of drinking water provided at check in.

Nothing. Stairs can be steep, so be aware if you have trouble with them.

Brilliant location for what we needed, lovely view over the river with plenty of chill out areas if you wanted to relax outside of your room, staff were helpful and accommodating. Great value for money.

Our timing was bad which meant to weather outside was a lot colder than usual, our nights sleep was a little chilly and we were woken throughout the night by the local cockerels. A lot of this was timing issues and not a fault of the hotel itself. Beds are hard, a common occurrence for this area so more an FYI for those wanting to know - again not a fault.

The price is unbeatable! Lots of restaurants closeby and early breakfast places. We did the Gibbon Experience and instead of keeping our luggage at the office, we opted for the hotel. It was perfect for that. Recommend. The staff was helpful and helped us get the ticket (and transportation) to the slow boat.

Basic amenities, but considering the price, it was perfectly fine.

The room itself was quite large and the view from the terrace to the riverside and the street was nice. Staff was friendly and welcoming and the room simple but clean. Slow boat pier is ~800 m walking distance. Bars and restaurants across the street. If you need any help with booking trips (slow boat or anything), the staff help you with the organization.

There are ants. Nothing to worry about, just don't forget to lock your food in and you don't have to worry about that.

The hotel manager was very helpful and spoke English pretty well. We didn't have cash when we arrived (I booked online and thought I had payed online aswell) but he said just pay me in the morning when you have had a chance to exchange or grab cash. It's only a 5 minute walk to the slow boat terminal and there's a number of restaurants and shops around which offer packed lunches for the slowboat. Room was spacious and clean. Shower worked well and the terrace overlooking the Mekong was really nice to sit on and enjoy a beer.

Honestly it's frustrating having to pay for everything in cash. Even when booking online. I know this isn't an isolated issue. All of Laos runs the same way but it's still frustrating.

Super convenient and great little stop if you’re travelling from/to Laos. We stayed for one night before heading over to Chiang Rai. Room has everything you need, located in the centre next to all the restaurants etc. staff were very friendly and easy to arrange transport with them (can also exchange cash if needs be!)

Sabaydee Guesthouse is excellent value for money for a night's accommodation before catching the slow boat. The linen was clean, beds comfortable (the mattresses a little on the firm side, but we're used to that in Southeast Asia). The bathroom was basic with a cold shower, but this didn't bother us at all, especially given the nightly rate. The young family running the place speak good English and gave us soap and towels as well. Great views of the Mekong River!

This is a basic guesthouse but is perfectly fine for a night, and is probably the best option in town. There's a nice view of the river from the upper floors. Room was clean, and the guesthouse is located right in the middle of town. They don't serve breakfast or food, but there are restaurants nearby.

Clean and had everything I needed. My room was on the second floor and reasonably bright and I enjoyed the access to the balcony spaces

Would be nice to have tea as an option on the coffee stand in reception, though when I asked if tea was available the owner provided me some Chinese tea leaves , so that was nice
