We had a truly wonderful stay at Fairfield Hotel, Besut from 2 – 4 June 2025 with our big family – we booked 9 rooms in total for 2 nights, and every single one of us left with smiles and great memories! From the very beginning – even before check-in – the staff was nothing short of amazing. We had to make some changes to our plans midway and they handled it graciously and efficiently. Their warmth and professionalism were consistent throughout. During check-in, we were greeted by a friendly Malay lady and a Malay gentleman who made the whole process smooth and welcoming. They were attentive, patient, and incredibly helpful with our group’s needs. A special shoutout to the reception staff on 3rd June – particularly Ms Su Yie at the front desk – who went above and beyond. While the rest of us went island hopping at Perhentian, she personally assisted and cared for our elderly father who is wheelchair-bound, ensuring he was comfortable and safe in his room. That thoughtful gesture meant the world to our family and gave us peace of mind during our excursion. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and family-friendly – but what truly makes Fairfield Hotel stand out is the heartfelt hospitality of its team. Thank you for making our trip so special. We will definitely be back – and highly recommend this place to anyone planning a stay in Besut, especially for big families. Terima kasih, Fairfield Hotel! You have our heart ❤️

Staff was nice, breakfast acceptable but without coffee which is super weird. Room was alright, clean, nice towels etc

It's located next to fish market so the halls, common area and outside smells of fish. Luckily the rooms don't... As I mentioned the breakfast was rather poor. No coffee and very limited choice of food, especially vegetarian options were lacking. I was expecting better breakfast from Marriott. The single room is tiny, I wish it had a desk, especially since there's no common area to work

The hotel is nice, new and location wise very strategic. just across the public jetty and they have the private jetty to perhentian the bed was so comfortable the front desk staff Mr Mannan was very helpful and knowledgeable. near to bukit keluang for hiking

the room is small, actually acceptable but the space was too small for praying. the breakfast spread was quite modest the door was quite difficult to open. the area has not matured, there are shoplots at the ground floor but not occupied yet. there's no swimming pool, pls consider building one.

The staff is very nice and helpful. The place and the room itself was very clean and well kept.

The hotel doesn’t offer any trips (e.g. transfers/ daily snorkeling trips) to the islands. Nor do they provide information- I was told to walk to the jetty (20-min. walk) and ask around. It wasn’t hard for me to do, but wouldn’t it be nice if the hotel had at least some flyers ? Not to mention a little tourist office stand, which is practised in so many places.

Staying here was amazing. Although check-in was officially from 3 PM, we arrived much earlier in the morning. The staff immediately checked if any rooms were available, and they let us check in right away so we didn’t have to wait in the lobby. On top of that, they upgraded us to more luxurious rooms for the same price. The hotel is newly opened, so we felt like we were the first to use everything. The cleanliness was top-notch, with fresh towels provided every day. The restaurant staff was wonderful, and the chef personally came to ask if everything tasted good. Breakfast was on point. The staff is incredible, and I especially want to thank Bani (Bugs Bunny😜) for his outstanding help from the moment we arrived until we left. Bani helped us arrange snorkeling trips and stayed in contact with us throughout our journey to ensure we arrived safely and to check where we wanted to go next. He even took us to the bus terminal when we left. And , I want to express my gratitude to Nan Abdel Manen for his kindness, helpfulness, and delicious surprise desserts in our hotel room and Mr. Naz en the chef from the restaurant. What made this experience even more special is that we felt like we gained new friends during our stay. The warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel so welcome. You don’t need to stay on the island; you can easily take boats to the Perhentian Islands from here. In one word: amazing. If I come back, I’ll return here without even booking in advance.

the breakfast buffet is nice BUT, I was hoping to see some local delicacies that is not just nasi lemak. Since we are in terengganu, the hotel could offer more local feast such as Nasi Dagang, or Keropok Lekor or assorted kuih instead of the pastries. Im pretty sure, international guests will enjoy that too.

Traveling to Perhentian islands so perfectly located. We arrived super late and had lunch included in our stay which we would miss as we had an early ferry. The staff so kindly offered us dinner instead which was so so lovely. The staff themselves excelled in their hospitality. Friendly, professional and memorable. The shortest stay with the hugest impact. Very impressed.

I probably wouldn’t go here for leisure but as a stopover it was wonderful.

The staff was amazing and very helpful, especially Bani who helped us at every moment, arranging us even a boat to get to the islands the day after. Thank you very much for your help. In addition, the food they served us for dinner and breakfast was great, and the prices were quite affordable and nice for the place. The room was very spacious and modern, with a giant TV and complete bathroom. I would recommend this hotel 100%.

Nothing. All was perfect.

It is brand new and still partly operational. However the location for the jetty to Perhentian Islands is good. The bed is comfortable and the restaurant and front desk staff are excellent and incredibly helpful. The food was good. The chef even came to see us and ask for feedback which was much appreciated.

Noisy uncontrollable children running down the corridor at night, but front desk informed the parents. Some alcoholic options such as beer or wine when dining would be good and attractive for non Muslim tourists and diners.

the bed is very comfortable and the room very clean. the staff at the reception is helpful and friendly

the selection at breakfast is very large and it tasted very delicious. however, we had to wait a very long time and had to remind the staff of our order. Although we had planned enough extra time, the long waiting times meant that we had to eat and pack our stuff very quickly so that we wouldn't miss our ferry. This could be improved!
