This is a beautiful resort with excellent facilities. The room was great - comfortable bed, very good bathroom, facilities, etc. The breakfast has a wide range of choice and the food very tasty. The swimming pools are also very nice and it never felt too busy. Easy access to a "romantic" beach, which is beautiful (and nicer in my opinion than the resort's private beach as well). Very helpful in arranging private boat transfers between the resort and mainland because our flight times did not coincide well with the regular boat service times provided by the resort

There are just small niggles that stop this being a 10 and it's mostly service related. For a 5* resort at this price, I would not expect the (sometimes) long wait for service at the restaurant, or better utilisation of the buggy service to get around the resort - one evening we were told a buggy would pick us up at the jetty and it never arrived, for example. It's OK if the resort is busy, but then your staff have to set the right expectations for customers - I would rather be told no or that I have to wait, rather than be told yes, something will happen and it doesn't. I also experienced that children were periodically allowed at the adult only pool and this was not enforced - why have an adult only pool then?

Location, location, location. We stayed with a couple of friends and were over the moon with the location of the resort, clean rooms, (although we had minor problems, such as sand in my bed when we checked in), friendly staff, great breakfast.

The service was very slow throughout our stay. We had to follow up multiple times for even simple requests. While the staff were always friendly and responded with a smile and an apology, there was little urgency to actually get things done. It honestly felt like the staff were more on holiday than we were! 😄

You get what you pay for. The hotel and facilities are breath taking. The private beach is stunning and the snorkeling with Padel was a lot of fun. The food is also excellent.

Considering how much money the Marriot must have, they should do more to make the path from the hotel to long beach clean! There was a lot of rubbish on the path which was a shame.

Breakfast very rich and wide. Location and amenities new and well organised. Buggy service really efficient.

Dinners do not provide variety, same things every evening. Waiters, and in general culinary sector, not well trained and reactive. Not well organized to face the customers expectations, comparing to the structure and 5 stars amenities.

Everything but I think the best was the availability of the personal and I liked also the fact that they upgraded us by giving us a villa although we reserved a normal room.

The only bad thing was the location it is really for people that don’t want to go outside the huge and large hotel.

Good service, well organized. Amazing views and pools. Luxurious rooms, great food. We had evening buffet, great choice of western, but also Asian food. It is a good choice if you completely want to relax.

We absolutely loved our three-night stay at the Perhentian Marriott. The biggest highlights included: - Facilities: The facilities and gardens were excellent. The property has three pools, all overlooking the ocean. Likewise, it has two restaurants and a bar, which provide a good variety of foods and drinks. - Staff: The staff were incredible! They were friendly, communicated effectively and made us feel at home during our stay. A particular thanks to Haziq who served us at the restaurant every day and Firdaus the ‘roti man’ for their exceptional service. - Romantic beach: Romantic beach is a three-minute walk down a set of stairs from the resort. The beach is beautiful and had so many species of fish. Visiting each day was the highlight of our stay! - Room: The room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was huge and had a beautiful shower and bath.

- Location: People visiting the island, particularly during the off-peak period, should be aware that there are limited options outside of the resort. - Convenience store: It would be useful for the property to have an on-site convenience store with snacks and drinks, given it is not located nearby any shops on the island.

Wow this place is worth the trip, amazing hotel and facilities. Note most people are here for the water activities. Tip get half or full board well worth it and great value a 3 courses per meal. Get a high up sunset villa for privacy. Great kids activities too. They have sorted the buggy issue too , so easy to get one.

Our staywas enjoyable overall. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was convenient for exploring the area.

When we find roaches in our room at nigh and this made the stay uncomfortable for both me and my partner as we felt uneasy the entire night. When we reported the issue, we only received an apology which felt dismissive considering the severity of the problem and such reputation of the resort. No effort was made to compensate or address the situation meaningfully.
