We had a truly wonderful stay at BuBu Villas. The hotel is perfectly located right on the beach, with stunning turquoise waters stretching as far as the eye can see. We arrived several hours before the official check-in time, but the lovely Emma at reception kindly gave us our room keys as soon as our villa was ready. We stayed in a Garden Villa, complete with a private enclosed garden and an incredible outdoor shower — such a treat! The room itself was spacious and airy, with a large, extremely comfortable bed. The grounds were beautifully maintained by a dedicated team of staff, all of whom greeted us with warm smiles throughout our stay. A special mention to our friendly waiter, Haquim, who made sure we received our complimentary cocktails every afternoon. And we can’t forget the talented chef, Waqar, who prepared the most delicious breakfasts for us each morning (will be dreaming of the pancakes). BuBu Villas have a very land back vibe to it, nothing posh or over the top, just bare feet and sandy toes. We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Yes, it’s on the pricier side — but absolutely worth every penny if you are looking for total relaxation in stunning surroundings.

Bubu Villa provided the perfect base for our tropical paradise escape in the Perhentians. The food was so good we came back every lunch and dinner even though other options on the island also looked great. The snorkelling excursions matched the offer from other providers but it was practical to have everything organised for us and billed at checkout, and the guides were friendly and informative. The accommodation was super comfortable, air conditioned and clean. The spa treatments were a lovely bonus! Being part of the family friendly long beach community was great, in order to not feel so isolated and exclusive, and provide access to fire shows, shops, bars and restaurants along the beach, without it ever becoming noisy or rowdy. The entirety of the lovely staff were always friendly, helpful and chatty, making our stay exceptionally great.

My husband, daughter, and I had a wonderful holiday at Bubu Villa in Perhentian Island. From the moment we arrived, the place felt magical—surrounded by lush greenery, it was like stepping into a peaceful tropical paradise. We were especially impressed by our spacious and spotless room, which provided plenty of comfort and relaxation throughout our stay. The environment was serene and beautifully maintained, perfect for a family escape. Breakfast each morning was a delight. The chef deserves a special mention—not only was the food delicious, but his service was truly top-notch. All the staff were friendly, warm, and always ready to help, making us feel right at home.

One thing to note, it’s that the rooms don’t come with a TV or a phone. So, for any requests, we had to walk over to the reception. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but it’s something to be aware of.

We had a wonderful stay at Bubu Village Hotel! The staff were extremely attentive, fulfilling our requests within minutes, and the reception followed up diligently. A special mention goes to Nasser and Vaka. Nasser delighted us with an exceptional orange juice, while Vaka made the best omelette in the world. Their deep kindness touched us, and we looked forward to seeing them each morning to start our day in the best possible way. Thank you again for this unforgettable journey - we will gladly return as soon as we have the opportunity!

The location, the food, the service, everything was superb. Much better than expected and we booked at a discounted price which was totally worth the money. We had a great server, his name was Waqa. The drinks and food were absolutely delicious! Our family loved it here and its definitely located in the best part of Long Beach. Entering the property, it felt like walking into a secret garden. If you’re into a peace and quiet holiday, Bubu Villa is the perfect place.

Just one person who denied our welcome drinks. Our fault because we didnt redeem it on the first day. Its just the way he said it ‘yesterday is yesterday, today is today’ no big deal because we got the free cocktail drinks plus welcome drinks later that evening from a lady there, we didnt get a chance to ask her name. But she was very helpful.

The private room is a real advantage! And the private garden too! Very close to anything and clean!! The staff was soooooooo nice and always ready to help! The BuBu Villa offers many private services like scuba diving and taxi boat only for their guest which is very comfortable! The food at the hotel was awesome: breakfast, lunch and dinner, anytime! The complementary services were also awesome! I will definitely come back!!

The WiFi the was working properly in the room but I didn’t tell about that to the staff unfortunately.

Great location, very nice & luxurious cottages. The staff is very welcoming. The chef Waqar took really good care of my family as he prepared delicious breakfast each day. Philip at the bar had been amazing as well

The final leg of transportation once we reach the island by the boat, one more transfer to Bubu boat and then walking through the beach to the resort is tiring. I wish they had a wooden or rubber ramp till some point in the sea where the boat could drop the guests and then they could walk with their luggage

This was the holiday of a lifetime. A fantastic experience for all of us (2x 60+ somethings and 2x 20+ somethings). Carla and her entire team without exception were attentive, friendly, and each very interesting in their own individual way. From first impressions (the porter carrying a 25Kg suitcase from the landing boat up the beach to the hotel - on his head!!), through the welcome drink and Carla's very helpful introduction to island life, the food, and happy hour cocktails every day that you can set your watch by ready for the evenings activities along the beach (fire show, lots of excellent food, beach bars), will remain in our memories for a very long time - well at least until we return again!! The beach was a great blend of very clean, and lively enough to be interesting without overcrowding (the two weeks before Europe schools break for summer). So much to do too! We were here 8 nights and were busy right through, snorkelling with turtles, baby shaks (sic), little Nemo's and a whole host of other tropical fish. We were lucky enough to see, on two separate days, turtles come up the beach in front of the hotel to lay 100+ eggs (taken to a local sanctuary for hatching and release), and watch the mothers (Shirley Turts and Lily Shelby) make their way back to the water after dark. Amazing wildlife. A short day trip to Redang island was very worthwhile too - beautiful beaches. The boat boys (GreenBoys next to the hotel) were super helpful and friendly for all our excursions out to sea. We made a great number of ongoing social media friends on this trip. We used the spa on several occasions - June's massages were terrific after a long day in the sun and sea.

Really hard to think of anything we didn't like!

Everything was fantastic, the rooms are great and the breakfast was tasty and very generous (special one for the fresh juices and the pancakes made by the chef). Also, we have tried other resorts on the island and the level of service is unmatched! I heavily recommend it for a seamless island experience!

Lovely room and full of privacy but alas couldn’t really enjoy the outdoors ( the room has an outer wall and door and private garden) as at night there is an army of blood thirsty mosquitoes and we didn’t pack any mosquito coils. Room was fully equipped with all amenities and a safety box. Comes with free breakfast and also a cocktail and snack (4-6pm). A little pricey but it’s on Long Beach and with free beach towels and sheltered huts or so on the beach.

Nothing really . Maybe the price :)
