Elizabeth, the owner and all of her staff were excellent and so helpful during my entire time there. The ground's, the room and the breakfast which is included was all amazing as I felt like not just a guest but more like a member of the family 😁. They also have regular weekly activities like a meeting with an expat to give us a wealth of information about what to expect if you're thinking about moving there. They also have a group of community members that meet there weekly for a game night. I learned how to play Mexican Train Dominoes and really enjoyed meeting some of the locals too.

I loved it all

The building and grounds are lovely. The balconies are quite nice. The room was decent, with a comfortable bed. The location is good, close to downtown. Pet friendly.

The service is not good. Given the high prices, this is not a good value. The night before, we paid one-third the prices with a better service. We signed up for breakfast at 8, and no employees showed up until they sauntered in about 8:10. Breakfast was 8:30, after the tables were set and the food was made. The garafones were completely empty of water all evening (all.of.them). We could not get a drop of drinkable water out of them. The internet went in and out every 5 minutes. Listening to a podcast was horrible. The bar was closed, which we found out after we got there. There was no staff in the evening. Really don't envision staying there again.

Everything was spot on! We loved the included breakfast, the hospitality, the charming environment, the convenience of a communal kitchenette with fridge and microwave, the view from the mirador, the location, the amazing staff, the weekly events... Our stay at Casa Del Sol was the highlight of our successful trip to Lake Chappala.

The only complaint we have is that it was difficult to sit comfortably on the bed to watch TV. There were not enough pillows to prop us up and we ended up with some back pains

Casa del Sol is a gem! The room was big and very clean. You choose 2 different hot breakfast options for the next day, the day before, and even for longer days there is lot of variations. Granola&yogurt with fresh fruits every morning. Free coffee with cookies in the lobby throughout the day. Nice upper terrace. Manager Alicia was super friendly and helpful. They offer nice Sunday brunch with nice relaxing live music free of charge if you stay there. Location wise, perfect, only 2 blocks from the main square where you have lot options for lunch and dinner.

There's not nothing to like. Pool is fairly small if you are going to Ajijic for sunbathing by the pool. Then this is not for you. I wasn't there for that, so I loved outdoor areas.

The Casa del Sol is amazing! We did not expect it to be so good. Elizabeth, the owner, is so welcoming and the staff are excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and very good, and the whole atmosphere was like home away from home. We made some wonderful friends among the guests, but were also able to enjoy coffee by the pool in peace. Would not stay anywhere else in Ajijic! Thankyou Elizabeth, Efrem and Tatiana - you are awesome!

My husband would have liked to have hot chocolate Nespresso pods available. But there was nothing to dislike.

I have stayed at Casa Del Sol B&B so many times, at least 10, in the last few years that I call it my second home. My mother lives in Ajijic and I visit often. After trying a few other places to stay in Ajijic I stopped my search when I found Casa Del Sol and the wonderfully welcoming owner Elizabeth & her staff. Casa Del Sol represents hospitality at its finest, at very reasonable rates I might add, in Ajijic. Here are some of the reasons I keep coming back: * Elizabeth employs a friendly, attentive, & welcoming staff. Overall, a relaxed friendly atmosphere is maintained. * The grounds, and the spacious great room/courtyard & the two relaxing rooftop patios, are really inviting and immaculately maintained. * Although this is a small B&B, the ownerElizabeth lives a few doors down, if needed, she can be easily reached. If you are arriving after hours, which I have done many times, she will make arrangements for you to get into the secure front gate and settled into your room. * There is a very handy & comfortable wine & spirits bar open 4-8 Tuesday - Saturday. Efren is your congenial bartender. It is nice not to have to leave the property for happy hour or after dinner libation. * Casa Del Sol makes for a really nice art space. Elizabeth has a constantly revolving group of local artists show their art throughout the property. The art is always interesting, changing, and of high quality. * The breakfasts here are really lovely and with a varied cooked to order daily menu. Sunday brunch is especially nice and atmospheric with a live father and son duo playing violin and guitar. * Although I never dipped my toe in, the pool looks inviting and refreshing. Many of the guests, especially from the far North of the US & Canada, take advantage of and enjoy. * I always make use of the shuttle service Casa Del Sol offers from the Guadalajara airport to the B&B. The drivers are always friendly and on time.

None to speak of. I keep coming back for a reason.

Casa del Sol Inn is THE MOST charming hotel I have ever stayed at and it far exceeded my expectations. Our driver was arranged by them and worked out perfect. All staff were prompt and consistent with communication prior to arrival. Our room was ready upon early arrival and we were delightfully surprised at the balcony view, table, and kitchenette just outside our room. The art throughout the hotel was A-Mazing. The included Sunday Brunch and daily breakfasts were fresh, good options for everyone and filling. We had THE BEST Mexican Rose Wine (almost every night) from the Bar that we have ever had - seriously - Casa Madero - I am only sad that I can not get it here in USA...guess I will have to come back and take advantage of more Casa Del Sol charm!

They didn't honor our reservation for the brunch by the pool. We did it as soon as we arrived and the next day the staff told us it was not possible

having breakfast provided with the room really made our stay exceptional. They were beautiful and delicious. I would not have eaten breakfast if it wasn't provided. Thank you for spoiling us! I thought having horses come to the hotel was a dream come true. I would have ridden daily except the Mexican saddle is hard on an old ladies skinny butt. I'll bring a gel pad next stay.

Not having Mexican Train Game night every night. We learned how to play, late in our stay, and want more practice!

Absolutely stunning property...very well taken care of...amazing views from multiple levels and sitting nooks...the breakfast is delicious and hearty enough to carry you through to midday...the staff is very smiley and always helpful...Owner Elizabeth is the cherry 🍒 on top, the most gracious hostess....our first visit did not disappoint and will not be our last.
