We have been coming Villa del Palmar Flamingos on and off since 2004. Since 2022, we have been coming once or twice a year to accommodate my parents. The staff is exceptional! We love the pool and the pizza/bar and Italian restaurants. We enjoy walking the beach and using the canoes.

Unfortunately, some of the restaurants are becoming very expensive, like the breakfast buffet (although a 2 for 1 is offered in the early morning), and El Patron. Since the place was built in 2003-2004, it is starting to show some wear and tear. In 2023, the pool was very cloudy and the water fountains weren't working.

It is well kept. But I have to take exception with management. When you have parties or functions the property should be cleaned thoroughly and all the portable furniture should be put away before the guests wake in the morning. The room we had was kept beautifully clean and the woman that turned down the bedding at night has such a pretty smile. She enjoyed her job. Most of the staff was like that.

The staff is not on the same page and you get conflicting information and some are wrong. When we arrived at check in that person who is the first person you meet needs to be reminded that that fact. If she smiled I bet it would have been the first time in her tenure. I asked for something and was dismissed. I had requested since the original booking for a high floor with Ocean View. Well every room has an Ocean View. The room we stayed in was very nice but I could hear everything going on in the lobby and early morning staff movements.

Hotel and mist workers were very nice, I had been there before

Paid for a junior suite and my daughter paid for a regular room and her room was bigger than mine. When I asked they said there was no difference, just the price which was a big difference. They said they would change us to a different room since the one they gave us had a few things that needed fixing, but front lady was not very nice about that. Not until my husband was upset and complained, they gave us a different room… really did take a “man” to talk, To get heard?

Lots of timeshare/sales presentations going on during breakfast. They did not enforce “no chair reserving”, so you had to put a towel on chair by 8am if you wanted a lounge chair each day.

the beauty of the place

I didn’t like that when we arrived our room was not ready and they actually had to send us into a different area because they had no rooms available. Then we got taken out and back into flamingoes and they still didn’t have our room ready so we had to wait four hours for them to prep our room.

Too many people putting towels out to save chairs then never coming to sit in them. Waiter at one of the restaurants failed to mention the cost of a 1700 peso bottle of wine that wasn’t part of our all inclusive package. Not much going on in the evening.

Breakfast was great

The New Years Party was weak, food was poor except for deserts and very expensive. The food choices very limited and not well cooked or displayed. The lobsters were pathetic and other fish poor. Given that we has wonderful fish dinners at Bucaria was surprising. Unless this this fixed we will not continue to go to buffet. On another topic, there were too few umbrellas at beach, this should be an easy and inexpensive fix

It was a beautiful resort . If you didn’t want to leave the resort everything was available there.

It was too isolated . If you wanted to experience any local culture you had to take an expensive cab or walk for miles . Also the floors and the carpet runners in the hotel room were absolutely filthy.

It is a lovely facility. The wait staff were friendly and attentive

The front desk staff were grumpy and unhelpful. There is a terrible noise in building one all night. I called the customer desk and was told they would look into it and call me back. I never heard another word

The rooms, the facilities and staff everything was exceptional. We really enjoyed all the different food choices on property

The pull out couch was not that comfortable. But manageable
