We loved the place from the moment we set foot on the property and were welcomed by the lovely reception staff. Secluded, in the middle of the Mayan jungle, it is the ideal place to relax and unwind, slow down and enjoy nature at its best. The private wooden treehouse was a treat, and we especially loved the outdoor shower and large terrace, as well as the evening copal burning. The walk to the lagoon runs through the jungle and is simply breathtaking, we were lucky enough to spot a variety of birds and wildlife, from toucans to howler monkeys and grey fox. The direct access to the lagoon is heavenly, we could not get enough of it despite having spent there 5 full days. We did the Xul-Ha sailing tour and enjoyed it so much, Cesar is the best possible guide and has a wealth of knowledge about the local environment. Whatever activity you choose to do with him will be more than worthwhile.

We truly enjoyed everything. The food and drinks were great too and restaurant staff was very nice, but prices are on the high end, which we feel could be a bit more balanced given the exclusive location and that customers will anyway be eating and drinking within the premises. Also, including a basic breakfast in the room tariff would be much appreciated. On some mornings fresh fruit and bakery products were available at the bar, which was a nice touch. Also, the internet connection was very weak, which is perfect if you want to completely stay off the grid but can be challenging if you need to get some work done.

Very kind staff but the concierge service is lacking - they didn’t seem to be plugged into activities available outside of the limited ones at the resort and not very communicative about events and activities at their own resort. They do not offer yoga for example so they should be able to tell you where one can go. Same with restaurant recommendations in town and things like that. Lots of potential but for the price not quite ready for their closeup.

Boca De Agua is one the most tranquil and relaxing hotels I have ever visited. You can spend hours wandering in the jungle between the treehouses, on the bridge above the jungle or in the restaurant and terrace, wherever you are you will be surrounded by nature, birds, butterflies, foxes and the resident family of spider monkeys (they are not spider looking for any arachnophobes). If that nature and relaxation fix is not enough for you, walk down to the Laguna and relax next to crystal clear water, home to many small fish, turtles and more birds. The water is a beautiful 26 degrees all year round, and you can take a kayak (free of charge) up and down the Laguna to explore or put your feet up and book a sailing experience with Cesar (thank you again for taking us out on a morning sailing experience of Xul Ha Cesar!) and learn about the rare heritage of the Laguna and the unique features of the water. Once you are finished you can lounge in the shade of dock, and enjoy drinks on demand (Alcohol and soft drinks are paid for, all water is free at the hotel). When it comes to breakfast, lunch or dinner, the team at the Michelin star restaurant will be available with a host of culinary delights, at each sitting you will be surprised with a bonus entree, guacamole on rice paper, corn taco with more guacamole, cheese, and a tomato purée to name a few. My partner has a gluten sensitivity and the team accommodated her dietary requirements at each meal, they knew in advance at each sitting, a special thanks Uziel for his hospitality and giving us the tips on the spider monkeys movements throughout the day. The menu was varied, with many vegetarian, fish and red meat options, the local fish was excellent, red snapper and giant river prawns I would order again in a heartbeat and the cocktail list had a unique local variety alongside any classic cocktail.

I would have loved the option to book an all inclusive stay with access to a few more snacks, smoothies, and fresh fruit during the day, the restaurant was lovely but it felt formal if you have just come up from the pool so it would be great to have the choice to order a smoothie for example with out having to sign a check and review a menu each time.

We loved the place. Probably the most beautiful hotel we’ve ever been to. We got lucky to be there in May and there was no one. So peaceful. The lagoon is beautiful, the water is clear and blue, way more beautiful than the sea. The rooms are perfect. Isolated, with great products, a great bed, and the exterior shower is amazing.

The only thing that I found a little frustrating was the menu price. The menu changes during the day, and the prices too. If you want a cocktail you have to count 25 euros. But the food is very good.

Amazing peaceful place, private in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful nature. Great design and cosy house. Delicious food. We really enjoyed our stay, we were lucky there were only few guests. Really relaxing time we had.

We loved all of it. Just be aware of bumpy road to get there, need have good car to get there. And food is delicious, but pricy and not wide dinner selection if you stay for more days.

Hands down one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel is just absolutely magnificent. So much detail went into this hotel from the architecture to how the rooms were furnished. Such a serene ambience, amazing food and the staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Would take any chance to go back.

Can’t think of anything it was absolutely splendid.

The room was nice, and the amenities were great.

The restaurant was overpriced for the menu. The road inside the hotel needs maintenance and better signage off the main road.

What an outstanding location and great vibe of staff. We loved the architecture, the great chefs and their exquisite cooking, the laguna and all activities around it. Our tree house was just perfection. We enjoyed this place very much. Definitely a highlight during our three weeks Mexico trip

One of the most beautiful properties in the world I've ever stayed at. The crystal clear lagoon (with no animals!) was absolute heaven. Rodrigo and his entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. I will be returning for years to come.

We absolutely loved our stay at Boca de Agua. The setting is insane, with the most beautiful lagoon hidden in the jungle. The food was exceptional, we stayed for 5 nights and didn’t get bored. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful.
