Breathtakingly beautiful location with access to the lagoon. We booked this place specifically to enjoy the lagoon, and it was perfect for that! Having free kayaks available was awesome, and we made great use of them for a day. The staff was lovely and always available to help.

If you're booking this place to explore Bacalar, be aware that it's quite far from the center. However, the place does provide bikes, which is great. Since we were aware of the location in advance, we also arranged another stay in the center later during our trip to Bacalar. There are some restaurants within walking distance, but don't expect cheap prices; for more affordable options, you'll need to go to Bacalar center. Be sure to bring mosquito spray with you because the cabin isn't completely mosquito-proof. Keep in mind, you're in the jungle after all. We were prepared for this, so it wasn't a problem that we would have needed to complain about. Maybe a mosquito net over the bed would be a good development for the place :)

The lake front and the room views were just incredible. Rooms are small but very modern.

There were a lot of big family’s/groups staying at the property as there is one big suite. Each group treated the property as their own private resort with no regard for other guests. They would blast loud music, take over the entire seating space and leave trash. This occurred over the entirety of our stay with multiple different groups causing this disturbance. Definitely made our stay a little uncomfortabl and while this is not the hotels fault directly they could’ve done more to regulate this.

Awesome location, and super helpful and pleasant staff. Bike rental to get into town easy, bikes of okay quality, had to put the chain on the bike multiple times per ride but whatever. Kayak rental very convenient although some kayaks had holes in them which makes it very easy to tip into the water.

Everybody mentions it, but there is a little section right beside the dock where the lagoon is fed by natural water coming out of the rocks which becomes a tourist spectacle. Pontoon tour boats coming up to the dock at least 10-20 times per day. I didn't mind it, I thought it was funny, but others might find it annoying.

Nice hotel and nice location. Rooms are spacious and kept clean. Each room has a fridge and a coffee machine. I slept very well. They give you bicycles for free, that you can use to reach the center.

The hotel doesn't provide breakfast, so you need to either get out every morning or buy some pastries the day before, which is what we did. It's not a big deal. There are some good pastry shops in the center. There are some nice restaurants in the street at waling distance, but it would have helped to have had a bit more info from the staff.

I had such a great time at Bacalar My Love - the staff was friendly and accommodating, the cabanas very nice and clean, the bed was comfortable. There were people around cleaning, maintaining, and you could always ask them for help. The place is outside of the center, which was refreshing, but they have bikes to rent, so you are fine cycling there - its 7-8 minutes. They also have available kayaks, they are pretty basic, but work. I stayed at 3 different places in Bacalar (1 cheaper, one more expensive) and liked this one the most. Btw, it is at the cenote Esmeralda and just below the hotel there is a spring with super clean water coming out, so some of the boats pass there to see it.

I would suggest changing coffee maker to a friendlier one (to both environment and tastebuds), not the one that uses coffee pods. Warm water would come out splashy, but I barely used it, so it was fine.

The cottages are cute and the view outside is absolutely beautiful. We loved the location as the hotel seems to be on a quiet area and it’s easy to get everywhere with the bikes provided by the hotel. Taxis are affordable too. The personnel was very helpful every time we needed something. All in all we had a lovely stay.

They were building new cottages and the construction work made a lot of noise during the day so it wasn’t very peaceful. Proper blankets needed to be asked for - they weren’t provided initially even though it gets quite cold at night. It would be nicer if the hotel had some breakfast.

We booked the family room which was a great value. We loved having a private deck looking over the water and the views from the master bedroom were amazing. The location is great round trip $140MXN taxi to town or if you are more active, it’s a wonderful bike ride into town. I was very happy to have a kitchen as we wanted to spend most of our time at the property. You’re right on a cenote so the water is deep and perfect for swimming. The boat tour next door was fantastic! I loved sitting on the deck looking over the water and going for swims. Even if you’re a couple I’d go for the family room it’s worth it!!

Due to the cobblestone stairs and deep water, I would not recommend this property for people with mobility issues or little kids. Kitchen lacked a few basics like salt, hand/paper towels, and garbage bags. A full length mirror would have been appreciated too, but no biggie. The only letdown was 3 out of the 4 kayaks seats were broken so only one was usable. The kayaks were a big reason my dad and I booked the room so we were disappointed we weren’t able to go kayaking together.

There’s a breathtaking view to the lagoon from the main villa, which has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a super spacious kitchen, dining table area and living room. It has a super big balcony facing the lagoon with a 6 chair dining table to relax and enjoy the view. They also have kayaking available for 4 people that’s included in the room price. It’s definitely worth the price!

We arrived like at 1:30pm and our villa wasn’t ready until 4pm because they were cleaning it. It was fine because they still let us chill out in the back part with the lagoon view, but we were a bit tired and would’ve wanted our rooms a bit earlier. The second bedroom was on the 2nd floor (like an attic type) it has a very small wooden stair case that makes a lot of noise, and personally we didn’t take up our suitcases because it was a hassle. The glass blinds in that same room need to be changed as they didn’t close.

The hosts were absolutely amazing and really looked after us. The place is super clean. Kayaks and bikes available. Lovely spot by the lake with shaded area and furniture and even a little fridge to put your drinks in so you wouldn't have to go up and down to the room.

It's slightly out of town and since it's still out of season many places were shut which meant a bike ride into town at night and parts of the road aren't very well lit. Having a car or a scooter would have made it much easier.

This place was amazing! 😍 Great location! Personnel were super friendly and extremely helpful! Bikes and single person Kayaks were available for free... Great view from the cabins... Cabin 4 was my favorite!! Other cabins are also awesome but 4 was much better than 6 or 7. Jose Antonio, Yoli, and Roberto are awesome! And I'm sorry to the cleaning ladies cause I didn't get their names but the rooms were impeccable.. even though I didn't get their names, I left the cleaning ladies their tips each day though! Overall this place was one of the most beautiful places I've been to!! Thanks Bacalar my love and staff!!
