The room was as advertised, with a little terrasse and a spacious outdoor bathroom. It was private and close to the water. The staff were super sweet and friendly. The facilities on the water were great as well, but the main hut was under construction. I appreciated the free kayaks as well, even though it was too windy to use them during our stay.

The bedsheets were old and cheap and the mosquito net was not actually functional as it did not close completely. There was an unpleasant odour from the bathroom sink. The lights from the path outside shone through the window slats and wallboards at night which was distracting when trying to sleep. No major complaints, just a few little things to consider.

It's a really nice place to have time for yourself, read, relax, do some kayaking. We were considering some boutique places in Bacalar, but it was definitely a good choice to remain outside of Bacalar with direct access to the laguna. The hosts arranged a boat ride for us at very reasonable rates (450/person with departure in Bacalar).

The road to the property is in pretty bad shape. Nothing an normal car can't cope with but not a pleasant drive. You think twice before you decide to drive to Bacalar in the evening (we didn't drive after sunset). The food is okay, but for the same price you get much better stuff in Bacalar.

We absolutely loved it here. Originally booked two nights but decided to extend our stay another day. It’s so peaceful and beautiful here. The water is clean and the staff are truly lovely. A little slice of paradise.

The food in the restaurant is good but simple and the kitchen often runs out of provisions (cheese, beer, etc.) The place is also VERY hard to find from the main road after dark—could do with a lit/reflective/glow in the dark sign so you know you’re going the right way when you arrive. That said, these minor inconveniences were no big deal.

The bumpy road to go in the resort

we spent 2 nights here and it was so charming to sleep in the wooden bungalow (or cabana in Spanish). Mosquito screens on the bed and on the windows but of course there are narrow spaces from where bugs can get in but that’s the wild part of the story. it’s beautiful to have a shower in open air as the bathroom is privately closed with a round wall but without a portion of roof so you can smell, watch and feel the jungle all around you. the whole place is a few steps away from the lagoon where you can enjoy wonderful swims with the advantage of using kayaks for free.

the “perseverancia” is the bumby road that gets you there and it’s a bit of a pain but is also clearly under construction, I believe they are trying to make it more comfortable to drive. we had only one bad experience for the breakfast when we specifically told we don’t eat meet and when we asked scrambled eggs with cheese they brought it with ham.. we kindly asked to remake them without ham but they just removed it, final result we noticed ham in the cold eggs and we didn’t finish breakfast anymore.

Great waterfront location, friendly and helpful staff, laid-back atmosphere, beautiful environment, within easy reach of Bakalar town

Javier was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was great fun. The place is at one with the beauty of its surroundings.

I was I had known that there was no internet connection in the villas. I’m not complaining as it serves the outdoors in this beautiful location but I would have been better prepared to really detox here and let go.

Location is great. Beautiful place, awesome view and landscape. Employees are kind. I asked to stay in a room closer to lagoon and staff made it possible. Thanks!

It wasn't hot water. No problem for me but my wife.

The staff is simply the best! Hardworking, polite, friendly and so kind!!! This is the quiet side of the lagoon which we just loved being secluded. Early morning kayaking and chilling by the hammocks was just perfect. Food is simple but tasty! Thank you for a relaxing and perfect stay!!

All fine, this is more for future guests, as you are in the jungle, of course bring mosquito repellent.
