The location exceeded our expectations. Being at the lower end of the Hotel District turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. Transportation options (bus/uber) were available when we wanted to leave the property, but there isn't much reason to leave the property! The restaurants were perfect, including a coffee shop, a casual restaurant, and an upscale dining option, as well as consistent and quick pool side / beach dining and drink service -- so wonderful! The property staff are top notch and professional. The beach at this location is perfect, with ample umbrella tables and lounge chairs. No need to arrive early for a good view -- any time you go to the beach and pools the spots available are prime - no matter where you sit you're pool and beach front. Swim up bar is fantastic, and many areas on the beach side and the lagoon side to relax and enjoy Cancun.

One minor suggestion: Would be great if the swim-up bar had "adults only" hours. At times children were occupying the seats. Pool with the bar should be primarily adults only. There are pools in close proximity, so those under 18 would still have available options for swimming.

Pressure to tip: This American tipping culture is not something the whole world should have to adapt. There are guests in this hotel who aren't American and shouldn't feel made bad for not tipping in every situation. Extortionate prices for breakfast

Check-in was smooth and informative. The room was the perfect setup for the family, comfortable beds. Who does not like the beach and pool areas and all the activities. The staff were outstanding.

This is about the area. Hired a private driver and the young man was concerned about his safety. Each time he came to pick us up. The bell hops would give him a not so welcoming look and tell him to move along quickly. I understand security for all quest is important but this was not the case.

The best thing about this property is it’s right on the beach! They have a wonderful happy hour from 3:30-4:30pm daily. All the restaurants on site were wonderful. Lots of fun activities to participate in if you choose. Very friendly staff and made great recommendations for other restaurants that were walking distance from the hotel!

Unfortunately, this hotel does not provide a transfer from the airport to the hotel. This is NOT their fault But, if this your first time to Cancun, just know that you will need to negotiate for your taxi OR take an Uber. Apparently you can take an Uber from the hotel to the airport, but not the other way around. The hotel is less than 15 minutes from the airport and we got gouged on a taxi. They are like vultures at the airport. And, all the resorts down there will offer to “pay” for your taxi or refund it when you come listen to a 90 minute time share presentation. It’s never 90 mins by the way. At first, it was $100, then $80, and finally we settled on $50! Apparently, we got a “good deal”

You know what they say, location is everything! Most of the time there was mild surf but 300 yards down the beach was as calm as possible. This facility is always comfortable and clean. What makes this place the best is the staff, wonderful and warm. Each and everyday they would say good morning, afternoon or evening Two staff who stood out most was Manuel and Fernando. Two of the hardest workers who juggled so many duties and so many guest requests. They took time to learn names, what people liked and sometimes expected. And they always did everything with a smile. I cannot say enough good things about this entire staff. I think I will always smile whenever I hear, “ Mr Forest, Mr Forest”!

Clean rooms, beautiful beach.

The concierge and front desk staff were rude and arrogant. There is on-going construction near the pool that was loud and lasted through the morning to early afternoon everyday of the week. The breakfast was not good and the staff was not kind.

I don't usually leave reviews but we had such a fab and memorable experience at the Westin. Amazing views, unreal beach and great poolside seating. Room was clean and comfortable. And most of all, the friendliest and nicest staff you can imagine! Front desk, housekeeping, porters, poolside, activities staff were all awesome and really made our stay. Special thanks to Guillermo who was incredibly welcoming and lovely, and went above and beyond to include guests in the activities.

We were a bit disappointed with the Sea & Stones dinner, and the food was generally quite expensive. However, on par with Cancun prices in general and the food at the sports bar was very decent.

The room was decent enough for a short stay. Large with comfortable beds and bathroom. Bathroom was clean but could use a refurbishing - the bathtub paints were visibly chipping. Room furniture could also use a little bit of refurbished. The beach is not exactly the same as the picture in the photo gallery of the hotel - there is a barricade just up to the water front so there are no places to walk or sit in the beach. But there are places nearby which are not so big. Staff were super friendly and graciously allowed me an earlier check in (I requested prior to arrival though).

The Air Conditioning in my room was very noisy. Would be difficult for a light sleeper to get some rest with the AC on.

The hotel is located with a direct access to the beach within Zona Hotelera, which is home to many restaurants and hotels. There is a bus top right outside the property, which makes it very convenient to get around for those who prefer not to drive. The hotel also offered activities during the day for guests. I like that there were umbrellas and beach chairs for the guests to use. The hotel has a big property and few pools, although usually only main one was open. I was surprised to see that people still preferred the pool to such beautiful beach located right outside their door.

The rooms are outdated, which many reviewers had already said. However, it didn’t bother me as much because I barely stayed in the room. What bothered me though was frequent communication from concierge trying to sell me the time share. I found it be be excessive emails, calls to my room and my cell) even though the staff was polite and respectful.

This was a beautiful, well maintained property with several restaurants and pools. There was easy access to the beach/ocean and a very calm section of the Caribbean Sea was a two minute walk. The temperature of the pool water was perfect and loungers and towel were bountiful. The staff was extemely accomodating and friendly, esp concierge Sergio. My on the beach deep tissue massage was fabulous (as was the promo price --80min for the price of 60min) and I can't say enough good things about my awesome masseuse, Liliana. The food and drinks at the restaurant were very good as was the service.

The spa was a major disappointment. Both the steam room and the jacuzzi were broken. Moreover, to use the spa for a single hour, one had to pay an additional $35. There is an excellent hot tub outside next to one of the pools, but not one of the staff ever told me about it despite me asking. Having sciatica, the fact that the staff seemed not to know about it was really irking. My room with a terrace overlooking the sea was awesome, but it was very hard to open the door to the balcony.
