Private pool was nice. Staff was over the top amazing. Location was pretty good; withing in walking distance of some shops and cafés. On site restaurants were wonderful and so was restaurant staff.

There was rarely open seating at either pool. It would be nice if area around our private pool was concrete, the rock was super messy. Each time housekeeping came. They seemed to take some towel (kitchen and bath) that they didn't replace with a clean one :/ The kitchen did not have much for utensils to cook with.

The hotel was just beautiful it definitely matched my expectations. The plants on the property have grown since they took the pictures so it looks like a little oasis in the middle of the Jungle, especially at night with the lights. we spent 6 nights we had the Rooftop Private Pool Garden View 1 King Bed. It felt very secluded . there are 2 very good restaurants if you don't feel like going to town and the staff was very nice and friendly

The rooftop suites connect to the units below and therefore the 2 floors can be sold as a all unit for big groups by the Hotel . Unfortunately the door that separates the 2 floors is not soundproof and if the group occupying the unit below has kids that like to run around and scream at midnight ( like we did for one night ) it could easily ruin your vacation... As mentioned in other comments the property is next to a slum but it is on the other side of the street and there are many easy options to go around it when going to Tulum centro. If all you do is going to Tulum Beach you don't have to worry about it.

The hotel and room were beautiful. It’s a very tranquil space. Staff were attentive and helpful! Overall a lovely hotel and the concierge service by WhatsApp worked really well.

It’s about a 15 minute walk into the main town down quite a dark street which may not suit everyone but there are often taxis outside. The rooms could be improved with a few small things like more hooks and another mirror in the bedroom as the one in the bathroom gets steamed up.

Very large and well-equipped rooms, very friendly staff, two swimming pools, atmospheric jungly vibe throughout (with authentic mosquitoes).

The main issue is that Tulum itself is not a particularly interesting town. The famous Maya ruins are definitely worth seeing, though now they're part of a kind of theme park, and receive busloads of tourists from the 'Maya Riviera'. There are other activities - Cenotes, ATVs, snorkelling - but these are quite costly, just as they are in other places on this coast. At this time of year (July) the local public beaches were not attractive due to the seaweed.

The hotel is pretty and we ended up upgrading to the room with a private rooftop pool. We initially had the jungle room with private pool but it’s smack in the middle of the hotel and full of people walking by. I wouldn’t recommend it. The upgrade was worth it though and the rooftop pool was really pretty.

The location isn’t great, it’s right across from a very poor neighborhood which sits between the hotel and the main city. It’s not violent or anything but just hard to navigate or walk through.

Beautiful hotel in a new neighborhood with super friendly and always very helpful staff! Spacious rooms, 2 nice restaurants with a jungle atmosphere, where you can also have breakfast. Taxis are always arranged within 3 minutes. You can choose rooms with a small private pool or without one, we didn't use the pool. In short, a lovely, not overcrowded hotel!

Beautiful centrally located pool, great for kids, but for adults, it's mostly just a spot for a nice Instagram photo. Otherwise, it's not very inviting to swim in. There is an infinity pool, but unfortunately, it wasn't inviting for us either.

Upgraded to the suite 2nd Floor apartment which was partly self catering ( had a kitchen & fridge etc) it was a joint family apartment 212 which obviously had two rooms but they had closed off room 212 A which meant the party in 212A and ourselves was separated by a door only. This did allow for more noise ( they liked their TV playing all hours of the day and night) which was frustrating and disruptive to our sleep. Would have opted for a different option had we been told... That said , The Hotel is beautiful , hosts one of the best Sushi Japanese restaurants and is spacious and we liked the attention to detail such as burning lanterns in the gardens at night etc. Super friendly staff who were more than helpful & accommodating.

Bar or drink service offered at Pool area upstairs was missing and would have been nice.

I went to Tulum for my friends 30th birthday and we stayed at Copal and had the best time! Firstly the hotel is beautiful! It feels like you’re in a tropical jungle with trees and plants throughout the hotel. Our apartment was lovely – we had a three bedroom apartment with a rooftop pool. The apartment was nicely decorated, it was airy and very spacious. There are two restaurants on site and both of them are great! The main pool is in the centre of the hotel; surrounded by trees and it’s so peaceful. What we also really liked is that there are so many extra things offered by the hotel including morning yoga, bikes for rent, massages etc which added such a nice touch to our stay. However the best thing about Copal is definitely the service! From the front desk, to the restaurant, to maintenance - everyone made sure we had a great experience during our stay. Special shoutout to Johnny and Samir who always went above and beyond for us! Highly recommend staying here!

The drainage in one of our bathroom sinks was really bad and although they sent someone to fix it a few times it still wasn’t great. The AC in our apartment wasn’t working when we checked in – but they sent someone to fix it straight away The master bedroom in our apartment locked automatically and we got locked inside a few times The private pool is a lot smaller than it looks online

Our room was very nice, clean and met expectations. On site restaurant was really good, breakfast selection was great and the quality of the food was really high. Pool area was also a highlight for us.

You are staying directly across from a shanty / slum neighborhood with people living in extreme poverty. Plumbing could use an upgrade, but it seems to be a general issue in Tulum. The stay cats left a nice turd by the pool one of the days and we had to point it out to staff, who, to their credit, immediately took care of it. The hotel itself, because of its incredible atmosphere, seems to attract a lot of influencer types.
