Absolutely magnificent! My stay at Riad Dar Bensouda in Fes was an experience I will cherish forever, and a huge part of that was the unparalleled hospitality of every single member of their incredible team. From the moment Yaseen ياسين, Yazied يزيد and Abdelaziz عبدالعزيز welcomed me at the reception with warm smiles and genuine care, I knew I was in for something special. They were always available, ready to assist with any request and offered invaluable advice on navigating the fascinating labyrinth of the Fes medina. The riad itself is a breathtaking masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture. Every corner tells a story, with intricate Zellij tilework, stunning carved cedarwood, and peaceful courtyards that transport you to another world. It truly felt like stepping into a living museum, yet with all the modern comforts one could desire. Dining at Dar Bensouda was an absolute delight. Ibrahim إبراهيم and Mohammed محمد, the servers, were attentive, friendly, and made every meal a pleasure. Their warm service and genuine smiles added so much to the experience. And the food! Oh, the food! The ladies in the kitchen are true culinary artists. Each dish was a flavorful journey, showcasing the best of Moroccan cuisine with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I especially looked forward to breakfast each morning – a feast fit for royalty! The Hammam experience was another highlight of my stay. Donia دُنيا created a truly relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. Their expertise and gentle care made the traditional Hammam ritual feel both authentic and luxurious. I left feeling completely refreshed and renewed. Every single person at Riad Dar Bensouda contributed to making my stay unforgettable. Their genuine warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail are truly what set this riad apart. It wasn't just a place to stay; it was an immersive cultural experience where I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for.

My sister and I had an unforgettable stay at the beautifully restored 400-year-old Dar Bensouda in Fez. From the moment we arrived, we felt like queens. The Dar’s exquisite antique decor and serene ambiance created a perfect oasis after a day of exploring. The exceptional staff made our experience truly special. Omar, our guide, was kind and patient as he helped us navigate the maze-like streets of the medina, stopping along the way to shop and show us the city’s handicrafts, history, and culture. Yassine, the hotel manager, provided exceptional and seamless service. He was always happy to share recommendations for dining, drivers, and tours, and he kindly answered all our questions. Aziz, the kindest porter, helped us get from place to place, making us feel safe and welcomed with his warmth. Thank you, Dar Bensouda! We truly experienced the warm heart of Fez, and we can't wait to return one day with our entire families!

My husband and I had the most wonderful time at this hotel. Yassine, Yazid and the rest of the staff are top-notch and very helpful. They arranged our transportation from the train station, then the porter picked us up just outside the medina and wheeled our luggage down to the hotel. We had dinner there our first night which we enjoyed. Yassine recommended several restaurants and made reservations for us. Both were excellent. We had hamman and a massage at Dar Bensouda, we would totally do that again. The hotel did our laundry. We were treated very well and recommend that you stay there.

Large and beautiful, with many different areas to spend time in. Clean, comfortable, nice staff. Wonderful breakfast.

All riads/dars can be loud if guests aren’t mindful, but this one was especially loud. Not just from people, but hundreds of birds outside our window that chirped for a few hours at dawn each morning (which I realize isn’t the riad’s fault). This was also the only place we stayed in 3 weeks across the country where there was not only the sunrise call to prayer (expected) but a few hours of low tonal chanting pre-dawn as well. No idea where it was coming from and also probably not the riad’s fault. So all this to say, this place is best if you’re a heavy sleeper or early riser in the morning.

We had a lovely stay at Dar Bensouda, a beautifully refurbished traditional riad that perfectly blends authenticity with comfort. The property is an old house thoughtfully transformed into charming accommodation, preserving its architectural heritage while offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the medina. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with a smile. Breakfast was decent—simple but satisfying. The small pool in the courtyard added a refreshing touch, especially after exploring the busy streets of Fes. One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace: quite spacious, with stunning views and a serene ambiance that made it ideal for unwinding. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and would definitely recommend Dar Bensouda to travelers looking for an authentic Moroccan stay with warm hospitality.

everything was okay for us.

Loved so much about this hotel from a very warm welcome on arrival by Yassine who helped make it so easy to find the hotel and gave us a relaxed seated check-in and a tour of the hotel which is just beautiful. Our room was amazing and spacious. Breakfast was delicious (traditional moroccan). And I enjoyed a hammam bath/scrub and massage while my boys went to watch Real Madrid vs Arsenal (Yasinne had helped them with where to watch it -- though sadly, it wasn't Madrid's best match!). The location is also unbeatable & perfect for exploring the Medina. Thank you all so much!

Difficult to fault, my family and I felt very welcome and loved our stay.

The palatial interior, the pool area, and the hammam. The breakfasts were plentiful, the coffee was great, and the one time we ate there (our first night), the food was very good. Also, the signs along the alleyways directing you to the Riad were a BIG plus. This is a big Riad, and the room sizes are great with very high ceilings. There are a lot of steps to navigate throughout. Our room had aircon and heaters for the chilly January nights and mornings. The staff are really helpful and pleasant throughout. Do not miss the hammam experience; it was sublime! You can settle your bill with a card payment.100% recommended!

Nothing really apart from the tea at breakfast being a bit bitter. A kettle in the room would be a big plus.

The Riad itself inside is very nice, clean, and full staff really helpful, including both the staff from dining and the porter. Great communication from the hotel staff prior to check-in. We were given all the information we need and they even went above and beyond to setup of our room with additional welcome decors and food for our anniversary. Food price at the main dining area is also very reasonable with delicious dishes. Overall, great stay.

The location of the Riad -which is inside the old Medina, is a bit far from the entrance. So, had to navigate down in a literal mazed-like alleys and streets. It is a bit indimidating for first timers (which is probably the case for every guests). Would recommend to have a porter from the Riad to come and pick you up. Both in and out, especially if you have luggages and hand carries with you.

# The house itself is incredible! We travel a lot, and we haven't been somewhere even close to that palace! It's bigger than you imagine and it's A MAZE! ^^ # The room was almost a maisonette apartment! # The terrace and with it # The view (on the mountains, the university, the big mosques- basically over all Fes # The food

One of the receptionists (when he faultilx thinks you don't speak French, he will talk REALLY bad behind your back about you) that would be a good reason, not to stay there!!! - ALL of the other staff (with now exception) was really helpful in every way!

It is a wonderful authentic building inside the Medina. The view from the rooftop allowed a 360 view of Fes and the medina. Our room was on top floor. It was a 2 story room, with the bathroom up the stairs from the bedroom. Also a guest room was available on upstairs section (we did not use). We had the breakfast included in the booking and a dinner at the hotel, both were very good. Good selection in breakfast buffet. On our departure date, they even accommodated an early departure for us to serve breakfast. Dinner was also delicious.

Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel. Being deep inside the Medina is a bonus, but it is also challenging to find your way in and out without a guide. We were able to wonder a short distance to find a nice restaurant to have some good Moroccan dinner. The room (perhaps being 2 story) was hard to heat (we visited in winter with cold nights) and heater did not function properly. My only regret is, the hotel was not able to accommodate our change in reservation to shorten our stay and cancel the penalty for our prepaid reservation (it is their right, but was hoping they can lift it).
