What a great customer service! I booked this aparthotel for one night and quickly received a text message from the hotel manager Assou who sent us a map of the hotel location ,I wanted to reserve a dinner for us ,and he sent a dinner menu to me as well .When we arrived at the hotel, Assou helped us with our luggage and took us to the restaurant where we were served tea and cookies. I asked about a camel ride and he tried to arrange it for us but it was fully booked for that night so he arranged it for the next morning. It was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the camel ride and the time we had there. please do try their beef Tajine, they were so good .Highly recommended!

We were debating between staying at a hotel or a desert camp, and I’m so glad we chose Hassilabiad Hotel. This family-run gem, right in the heart of the Sahara, turned out to be everything we hoped for— clean, tastefully decorated, and full of warmth thanks to its incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. The location couldn’t be better. We stayed in a suite with a spacious rooftop terrace that looked out over the endless dunes—waking up to that view was unforgettable. The suite itself was well-equipped, with a large bathroom, a kitchen (which we didn’t end up using), and even a washing machine—an unexpected but appreciated touch. The hotel grounds were a surprise in the best way: clean and airy, with a lush garden that felt like a little oasis. The large, shaded parking lot was also a major bonus, especially in the windy desert environment. The on-site restaurant served some of the good Moroccan food. Breakfast was especially memorable—we were served a delicious egg and vegetable tagine that felt like such a treat. One of the highlights of our stay was a sunrise 4x4 tour we booked through the hotel. Huge thanks to Hassan, our guide, who made the experience truly special. Watching the sun rise over the dunes was magical, and the ride through the sand was both thrilling and beautiful. We visited a Berber family, shared tea in their tent, and gained a deeper understanding of their way of life in a rapidly changing world. As a perfect ending, Hassan took us to the community garden where his family still tends a small plot of land assigned by the tribal chief. Our only regret was not staying longer. If you’re on the fence—don’t be. This place is lovely.

We really loved our stay here, Hassan and Ismail were very welcoming and made us feel completely at home. We got some tea and cookies when we arrived. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was great and plenty. The room was big and clean. And they even did our laundry! The hotel is walking distance from the sand dunes. We only stayed one night since we had booked our stay in a desert camp beforehand, but could have easily stayed longer. They also let us leave our car in their parking during our stay in the desert camp. Overall, highly recommend to stay here in Merzouga!

Beautiful apartment complex with spacious rooms, very nicely decorated in Moroccan style. The staff is exceptionally helpful. They will cater to your requests and help arrange any activities you may want to enjoy. My room included a seating area, a separate shower room, separate area for sink and separate area for toilet. The accommodation includes a pool and roof top terrace with a very nice view of a large sand dune which you can easily walk to. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area. The apartment complex is not right in Merzouga which is just a short drive away and keeps you out of the central tourist area.

The location is perfect—just a short distance from the desert, with decent views of the sand dunes from the patio above the dining area. Watching the dunes while having breakfast was a highlight. Speaking of which, the breakfast was fantastic—great variety, generous portions, and truly satisfying. The staff were warm, easy to talk to, and very accommodating with our schedule.

A wonderful experience close to Merzouga, in the adjoining village as you approach. This is a new build done in a modern Moorish style but very sensibly. Large, cool corridors, generous size rooms, nice little hideaways to read a book or sip tea. We had a 1-night break after a stay in the desert camp and I cannot recommend this enough. The family suite was excellent, has A/C, it even has a washing machine. The staff are wonderful. We asked for a tip on where to go nearby to watch the sunset and he said follow me, I can drive you somewhere nice. It was only 10-15 min but it shows their approach. The breakfast was more like brunch, enormous amounts of food. We did not eat in their restaurant in the evening (and regretted it) but on arrival after dinner they gave us complimentary tea on the terrace, in addition to one earlier in the day.

We stayed at this desert hotel and had an amazing time. The manager was extremely welcoming and helpful — he even helped us book a desert tour, which was a fantastic experience. There's great parking near the hotel, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the food was excellent. At night, the stars were absolutely breathtaking. 10/10, highly recommend!

Hassan the manager was the best. His care and concern for guests is truly exceptional and selfless, and that goes with other helpers in the hotel as well. My wife fell sick just after reaching Hassilabiad (110 F temperatures) and Hassan drove us to the nearest Doctor(after trying a couple of hospital and clinics which were closed in the evening) and made sure we had the necessary care and medicine to recover. He also prepared and served special food for us at the hotel, with our recovery in mind. The apartment was duplex and spacious with a private terrace. Location was great, a 10 min walk to the dunes which was delightful. The pool helped to cool down. Great breakfast spread (Ismail was great) with fresh dates & date extracts. Fully equipped kitchen. Hassan also arranged for a 4x4 and camel trip, which we all enjoyed. Perfect, caring place for families.

Minor complaints given the Aug heat in Merzouga. Water on taps, showers was hot all the time, even on cold settings. AC was great inside the bedrooms but not good in the living / common areas.

We had the pleasure of staying one night at Hassilabiad Appart Hotel, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel staff arranged an incredible 4-wheel drive and camel safari into the Sahara Desert, which was truly the highlight of our trip. The experience was well-organized, and we felt safe and well taken care of us The room at the hotel was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, providing the perfect oasis after our desert excursion. We were also delighted by the delicious breakfast, which offered a wide variety of fresh and flavorful options to start our day. The combination of great service, amazing amenities, and the unique desert experiences makes Hassilabiad Appart Hotel a must-stay for anyone visiting this part of Morocco. We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what this wonderful hotel has to offer. Highly recommended!

Overall good but could add some other options for this price like Quad or camel ride.

Amazing stylish apartment with two stores and a terrace. Aircon was convenient for heating bedrooms. The staff was very kind. They arranged for us a jeep desert drive despite of our late arrival. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Definitely recommended! We would come back, for sure!
