What a nice place to stay right at the dunes of Merzouga! The pool area is absolutely fantastic, and a luxury considering you just open a door and find yourself stepping on Erg Chebbi sands. Rooms are alright with a small fridge inside, and if you have the chance, treat yourself and have dinner enjoying the local tasteful bereber/Moroccan food. The hotel staff are professional and efficient, and we particularly appreciated the warm welcome of Mohammed, who kindly organized some desert trips for us and had a solution for every situation.

Staff were great, location was epic and facilities very good. We appreciated the covered parking for the bikes. We walked into the town for dinner one evening which is very close. The dinners we had at the hotel were delicious, freshly made and good value.

The breakfast was OK, the pastries were not the freshest but the staff couldn't do enough for you and went out of their way to bring us hot water so we could make English breakfast tea. We had a lovely veggie tagine on our first and second night and decided to eat out on the 3rd night for some variety.

Fantastic architecture and landscape, the place is a virtual palace on the edge of the Sahara desert. Sunrise over the dunes was spell binding There is plenty of courtyards, balconies and open space for what appears to be a small number of guest rooms. The food was very well prepared and tasty. The staff are friendly and delightfull. They even mailed, at no expense to us, a room key we accidentally brought from our previous nights lodging. Topping this off with a camel ride adventure rated our Raid Ali stay as Best of the Best.

All beds in Spain and Morocco seemed a bit harder than we are used to.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Riad Ali with a group of seven motorbike enthusiasts, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Mr Ali’s warm welcome and attentive care made us feel right at home. Mr Ali and his Staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, providing us with all the information we needed for a smooth check-in and even offering secure parking for our bikes. Their genuine hospitality and attention to detail truly stood out. Their knowledge and willingness to assist made our trip even more enjoyable and stress-free. Breakfast each morning was a highlight of our stay, offering a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes.

One of the most fascinating, welcoming, friendly and exquiste stays that we have had yet on our journey. Ali, Mohammed and the rest of the staff will go out of their way to make sure that your stay is better than you could ever imagine. Spotless property, fantastic food, immaculate rooms, crystal clear pool and an amazing terrace to gaze into the Sahara desert. All arrangements for camel rides, camping in desert, quad tours, etc can be made here, so no need to pre-book months in advance. They make it so worry free here. Merzouga is a cool, little village that has all of your food and excursion needs ( snacks, turbans, water, etc), and it’s main square is walking distance from the riad. Book this experience now!!

That we had to leave

We loved our stay at Riad Ali because we found it really comfortable, right at the dunes yet easy reachable by car. It’s clean, they provided us with a baby cot for our son, there is a beautiful pool. Ali and all the staff were very kind and provided us with all we needed and we felt at home. They even cooked pastina that we brought with us for our son as he struggled to eat local cousine. The rooms had AC and everything was great for our stay. At dinner we had superb food prepared by the staff and for a Birthday of my wife, they prepared a cake and played happy birthday song which was amazing. Breakfast was great too. We also booked all our tours (camel, jeep, buggy) with Ali and we got a good price, good service and very professional guides. We can’t recommend this place enough ❤️

Absolutely incredible place in Merzouga. The owner Ali and his staff took care of us and we had the best stay. We forgot a few items at the resort and they went out of their way to deliver it to us. We appreciate so much their kindness and generosity. I highly recommend this Riad. The food was delicious, the rooms are clean and the rooftop has the best sunset views! We were treated like family and we can’t wait to come back!

Awesome Riad and perfect location, right by the dunes! I had a great time in Merzouga thanks to Ali’s employees and Ali himself! Everyone has been super welcoming and helping. The room was pristine clean and A/C powerful enough to meet desert’s need. Dinner was very tasteful. The pool was cristal clean and felt so good after a ride in the desert. They have a sandboard you can rent for cheap and they gave me tips for my solo camping nights out in the dunes. Ali even offered to drive me to an oasis in the desert the morning I left. Warmly recommend this riad!

Everything was amazing. The rooms, pool, breakfast and people. People are very friendly and welcoming.Also, desert starts right behind the hotel. You open a door near pool and you are in the dunes. Better than paying 60€/pp transport for camps that are not even in the dunes. They also offered us to take deep in the desert by SUV at night,but we didn’t have time.

Splendid location, at the doorstep of the Merzouga big dune desert. View of the roof terras was stunning. The entire facility is very well maintained. The swimming pool is very clean and refreshing. The owner and staff members make sure to welcome you and serve dinner and breakfast with authentic Moroccan food and in local clothing style. The dinner was the most extensive, and served with lot of attention, throughout our entire journey. We highly recommend Hotel Riad Ali.
