- Extremely affordable for what you're getting - Internet worked fast - Toilet was always cleaned - Comfy beds, and they also provide free towel rental - Cheap laundry service - Their on site restaurant offers really good meals! A local homestay chef was cooking it and everything tasted divine! - The staff were all cordial and extra accommodating, extra kudos to Goutam for being extra friendly and suggesting so many things to do in Nepal.

- no curtains on the bunks - can't bring outside food, but who cares - there are not enough plugs in the common area, so I kinda needed to charge my work laptop somewhere then return to the big table to work.

Recommended for a stay in the most interesting part of Kathmandu. A special mention goes to Gautam from the hostel's Cafe - a lovely human being and a great person to spend time around. Loved being around him as we chatted and planned my time in Nepal.

The lighting in the common area could be better.

I really enjoyed my stay at Yakety Yak hostel. The staff is super nice and happy to help with anything you need. The hostel is sparkling clean and has a big, cozy common room. You'll get a quiet night's sleep while being super close to everything happening around Thamel. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm, as well as in a private room. Both were great!

The mattress in the private room was a bit hard, but it didnt bother me too much.

The hostel was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day. The bathrooms and toilets were also clean, and there was always hot water. The location of the hostel is very good, you can find everything you need nearby. You can choose this hostel with peace of mind. I will definitely stay here again when I return from my journey

Great hostel in Thamel with very friendly staff! I stayed here for 10 days in a private room. The room was clean, modern, spacious and importantly the bathroom had a good hot water supply. The hostel is clean, spacious, and has nice common areas to meet people and relax. There is also a bar there, so you can enjoy a few drinks, and they also serve food which is good and well priced. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. Great value for money, thanks for a great stay!

Can get a little noisy at night due to the hostel being centrally located in Thamel, but that is not a fault of the hostel! Just get earplugs and there will be no issue - this is an essential for travels in India and Nepal.

We enjoyed our stay at Yakety Yak Hostel a lot. The location is great, very central in Thamel. It's a modern hostel with clean rooms and common areas. The staff are very nice and you can also buy food and drinks there. You should know that this is more of a quiet hostel than a social place, so maybe not the best for people who want to make new friends.

Cold water in the shower on all three days we stayed there. Helps you to prepare for the rest of your Nepal trip though ;)

The bathrooms are great. Female and male only and so many toilets and showers. Good water pressure and hot water at all times. Staff are great and good areas to socialise. Location is good too. Each bed has a socket and light and they don’t move too much when someone is on the other bunk

The bed is a little uncomfortable and curtains round the bed would be ideal.

Immediately clean and friendly staff . Good water pressure in the shower. Clean bed sheets and pillows . Amazing hospitality from staff and they were ready to help everytime .They have also created a safe and secure environment for the hostel guests . Central location, great Wi-Fi, friendly staff, amazing hot showers, delicious food (especially the chilli momo) I booked for one night and ended up doing 6 in total! It’s a great hostel if you need to work online as there’s so many areas to sit and use a plug at the same time.

Nothing! It would be cool if they offered some activities to make it more social but not a problem as everyone is so friendly anyways!
