They are charging for parking

The setting for the hotel is very pleasant. Short walks in the woods are just across the car park. Aardenburg is walkable although we didn't in this case. The room was comfy and adequate for our one night stay. It looked out onto a large rectangle of garden with mixed flowers and vegetables - very cute. The reception staff spoke English although everything else was only in Dutch. Parking was easy in the very large car park.

We have no other experience of hotels in the Netherlands so we were a bit surprised to find that dinner in the restaurant was a buffet and many of the guests were subscribed to an "all-in" tarif - including for the bar. The dinner was just fine with a good choice of food. Perhaps paying separately for parking is the norm in the Netherlands. The choice of wine at the bar was somewhat limited (by colour) and not really to our taste. All that being said, it was a good overnight stay and we would return if passing that way again.

The location is a key to all our stays. Nice surroundings available to walk our dogs and explore the area

We paid for the room in advance to include hotel fees (we never found out what these were!). When we arrived to the hotel we were presented another bill for the dogs ( which is fair enough and we never have a problem to pay those fees), for the car park and another hotel fees! So be careful when booking your stay as you'll end up paying twice as much especially consider these mysterious 'hotel fees'. There was a soda streamer in the room with no cylinder to make it! We didn't want to pay another hotel fee on top so we skipped this step!

Good place to stay, good price quality value

simplicity sometimes makes perfect.

There wasn’t anything to dislike, really. In hindsight I would have preferred a double bed instead of two single beds joined… but that is something I can solve and not so much something that the Elderschans did wrong.

Clean and friendly. We upgraded to the Suite. Absolutely beautiful and beds we’re comfortable. We will definitely be back. Thank you
