The place is tidy and the landlord is nice. Not only the breakfast is tasty but as a Muslim, the landlord asked us about our food preferences to ensure no pork and alcohol were served which is really respectful. The environment is also peaceful and you definitely can experience the nature of Giethoorn by staying there. 10/10

the place is a bit far from the main tourist site, but you can rent a bike from the landlord for a fair price.

We stayed in the appartment Ijsvogel and I have to say it excedeed our expectations. The appartment is spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated. The owners, Mirjana and Peter, are great people and they are taking care of their guests. We had a boat tour with Peter to watch the birds and I have to say, both my son and I enjoyed it very much and we can only recommend it. The breakfast was delicious and very diversified.

The location of this property is perfect to explore Giethoorn! The breakfast was incredible both mornings and was a real highlight of the trip. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the unit had everything we needed for a short stay. The extra special touches made the stay perfect!

For a longer stay the kitchen may be a little limited for in unit meals (though this wasn't an issue during my stay) It would have been nice to know of the other options (dining/picnic/bbq) that are available at the property. Neither of these were issues for my stay.

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfy and nicely finished rooms. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was very good (though would have preferred butter instead of margarine). Perfect location for exploring Giethoorn and cycling in Weerribben national park. The property has bicycle rental which we found very convenient (and reasonably priced). The owners had lots of useful advice about what to do and see in the area. Would definitely stay here again. (Review written by Annelies).

Small point - We were two friends/ colleagues and had booked the triple room (because it has two separate interconnected bedrooms) but when we arrived the bed in the second bedroom was unmade (and we made it up ourselves).

We had the room upstairs. Carefully decorated, it was cosy and comfortable. We got a sweet present from tge owners. Brakfast was fantastic! The owners were friendly and ready to help you. There is a restaurant 200m away from the property. You can walk to the touristic area of the village - 40 min), ride a bike or drive (4km).

For us, it was too much light in the room. The blinds are white, the curtains as well. They look nice, but the light coming through the window wakes you up early in the morning.

The breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. The room was great, big and comfortable bed, good storage and lovely bathroom. Well equipped kitchenette. The owners were very helpful and kind.

The only thing I can think of is that we wished it had been slightly closer to Giethoorn.

Everything was exceptional. Wonderful and very helpful host, great breakfast, bike rentals on the property, free parking on the property, near beautiful walks around the canals of Giethoorn.

There was nothing that could have been better. All was GOOD.

We just loved the style and the setup of the apartment (upper floor). Modern but with the wooden cover on the walls gave a special atmosphere. It had an air conditioner and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. On our request, the hosts could provide gluten-free breakfast and it was delicious and wonderful. We should highlight the friendliness of the hosts. They can arrange different programs, e.g. we could go on a boat trip with the host and we liked every moment of it - and to learn about the region.

Nice property, wonderful town. Bed was super comfy and it was nice to have access to available at night.

The shower is pretty dark as it is completely walled in and the grout could use a bit of deep cleaning. Pretty minor as overall this is a very nice place to stay.

Check in is easy and fuss free. The hosts are very friendly and approachable. The room has a microwave oven and adequate cutlery. As it's at the top floor of a house with sloping roof, the entrance, kitchen & toilet and bedroom are at 3 different levels. There is variety of food offered for breakfast served between 8.30am to 9.30am. It comes in a trolley at the ground level. We then go down to pick it. The 3 types of bread and eggs are warm food. There are 2 types of cheese, 3 types of cured meat, coffee, tea, honey, juice, etc. Location: at north of the town in a quiet neighbourhood and away from the hustle and bustle. 5 minute walk behind the property is a lovely stretch of houses by the canal. Giethoorn is a pretty town. I will stay here again if I come back to Giethoorn with a car.

Internet is not strong but sufficient for Whatsapp.
