"When you're here, you're family" is what it feels like to stay here for me. There's the flexibility with breakfast and the personal attention, should you want or need it. I think my favorite thing is to sleep with the windows open and hear the old church bells chime the hour and half-hour. The ferry is a few minutes away by foot and the train station, a short, scenic walk.

There's very little to complain about, in fact, it would be nitpicking. Maybe the way the front door sometimes wouldn't close all the way on its own? Or perhaps that breakfast was so big with so many options I couldn't possibly eat it all? See what I mean? Nothing to complain about.

The location is perfect for walking around town and getting to the ferry easily. It's a gem, managed by folks who care about making sure things are as nice as possible for all their guests. Leaving the window open lets in fresh air and the sounds of the church bell (photo of the view from Rm.203, looking toward the church, is attached). I don't know how or why but the beds are by far the most comfortable I've slept on.... maybe it was the pillow? Comforter?

The hot water in the bathroom sink - a well-known issue, I found out - made a shuddering noise when the kitchen below used hot water. It was easy to get used to and a little funny once I knew what the sound was. Chalk it up to the charm of an old building. The hotel part of the business is going to get remodeled anyway at the start of the new year so I'm looking forward to the next visit to see how it turned out.

Lovely accommodation. The staff at check in were amazing. They were very kind and helpful. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Our bikes were locked on the hotels terrace. The location was excellent.

The stairs are steep and wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues. It wasnt s problem for us.

Great central location, incredibly happy team, perfect room. This could not have been a better place to stay when visiting Gorinchem. You are so central, and the team seemed really interested in all of their guests. Would happily stay again.

Comfortable Clean. The staff very helpful and pleasant. Situation on edge of canal within easy reach of restaurants great. Safe cycle parking in locked uncovered enclosure. Restaurant serving tapas looked great but we had not booked so could not get a table.

Nothing really, the stairs very steep but that appears the norm in Holland. No lift

Good location, good meal in the tapas bar adjoined to the hotel

Very steep stairs, not great for luggage, we booked breakfast for 8.30am, not expecting us till later, confirm your breakfast time, as the breakfast staff were unhelpful

Very good location, and nice room for a very good price.

The breakfast was a little overpriced for what we had. We weren't told at the outset we could have scrambled eggs and bacon. When we were told, we had already helped ourselves to what was laid out. A small point, really, though!

Great location in a walking area. Room is small but for 1 night stay is fine.

A cat's smell and not enough lightening in the bathroom. On Sunday there is no staff available. So it is self service to check out.
