Very spacious and comfy room, with plenty of facilities, nice and friendly owner, and great breakfast set. Old stylish building. Conveniently located, walking distance to the train station, city center, and supermarket. We stayed during the weekend, but had no problems with noise from the street. Unfortunately we had no time to enjoy the bar this time, but we hope to come back for that. Good value overall.

Have to watch out a bit if you're very tall due to relatively low ceiling with beams.

Very comfortably furnished with loads of books and board games to keep the boredom away. The recliners are super comfortable as well! The breakfast parcel is excellent!

The stairs were a bit steep, but I think this is standard for most if not all Dutch buildings, so it's not really anything unexpected for the area.

Separate entry from street. A large comfortable room up (steep) stairs with comfortable chairs table tea (great range of tea bags) and coffee making facilities. Plenty of heating in cold weather. Breakfast delivered in paper bags to common area at bottom of stairs was very very generous (too much if anything for us). Host very pleasant and friendly. Bar/café very pleasant also. Handy for station and rest of town.

The room style fits completely the atmosphere of Middelburg and for that one comes back! Breakfast was wonderful and well prepared, so one can skip lunch.

There were some (minor) broken things like the wall bar of the shower which was loose and an outlet of the wall hanging open.

We stayed in a very spacious attic apartment in this old building (adjoining the pub, with large wooden beams overhead. It was very comfortable and delightful. Breakfast was left to be eaten in the room or on the adjacent patio, The breakfast was substantial and varied. We were very satisfied with it. If you are over 6'4" you may have a problem with headroom in this room.

very cosy setup. Good bathroom (modern) and the living/ bedroom was ice and cosy 'old school' typical country style. A little bit old (wallpaper) but it was very well in balance.

The hosts were both amazing. The breakfast was outstanding, more like a brunch. The room was comfortable and has everything you need.

Indeed: I was not informed about wifi, which I would have appreciated. Also I requested, during the booking process, an invoice which I have not (yet) received.

The room was a little bit cold, but information had been given how to remedy that.

Staff & hospitality, price, the nearby cafe (same owners) with nice, interesting 'locals', room, breakfast, near the center (musea, theatre, restaurants etc)

Anti slip mat in the shower would be nice

Everything was great ...... the space was interesting, comfortable, warm and inviting. The man who checked us in was charming. The takeaway breakfast was magnificent.

It added to the experience for us so it wasn't a negative however if you have limited mobility the steep stairs will be a challenge. The building is four hundred years old and the stairs add to ots charm.
