From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable “Ahmed “at the front desk welcomed us warmly and explained the restaurant times also enquiring if there was anything more that we wished to know. A particular nice touch was the offer of a warm cookie and a cool glass of water. We decided to eat in and again we were welcomed into the small bar restaurant by Saba and Kaliopi. The food was excellent and served with a smile. Our bedroom was clean and adequate with a huge tv which had English channels ,a coffee machine with pods was present also a kettle for making tea. The air conditioning was effective for the hot weather. All in all an excellent hotel !! This hotel is a credit to Hilton and their Staff 😀

Absolutely nothing, although a minor point it would be nice to have better signage for the car park and entry from there to the hotel.

The interior was pleasant, the staff was friendly (they gave a welcome cookie). Bathroom was clean and room in general. Bed was comfortable and this hotel is basically the only good option in Sittard. The hotel was fully booked and nevertheless quiet so it had a great sound isolation. Breakfast was good.

There were strange design choices - the hand soap being liquid and very far from the sink (non-detachable), the TV was on the left of the bed so you could not watch comfortably while laying in bed which is the main point actually. Food in the restaurant was very bad - extremely expensive and bad quality - tasteless and I was given too not cooked potatoes. No refund on it either. I give 8 because of all the other good stuff, ignoring the design choices. But food alone was 4. Also - do not go to Sittard - nothing to do and see there, dead town. Use it only to get to Maastricht.

Great location and very nice staff, with the exception of one angry lady at reception, who worked evening shifts. She was rude to us a couple of times. Totally unnecessary and very uncomfortable. We asked her if We could order something from the bar as there was none there. Then she got angry and wanted us to understand that many of the personnel was on a vacation and others was home because they was sick, and therefore they could not help us. This should have been taken up with the management and not the guests.

The concept of turning an old school into a hotel is genius, really appreciated the unique experience. Despite it having originally been a school building, the hotel rooms were perfect, it didn't feel outdated or inconvenient. The rooms were furnished conveniently and they were very spacious. The staff were very welcoming and kind. The bathroom was very modern and comfortable. We got 2 rooms that had a door connecting them directly, that was very convenient. The big windows offered a lot of light, but the curtains blocked off the light very effectively at night.

The air was pleasant but it's unusual that the window cannot be opened, so that should be kept in mind when booking. Extra blankets, water and cookie for free is only provided when asked, and I only knew about it because I saw someone else getting them but I wasn't informed of these.

I stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton Sittard recently. It is one of the best historic remodeled hotels that I had visited. Excellent preservation of history while providing modern comfort, working A/C, great restaurant food, friendly staff and attention to details. Parking fee is acceptable. Breakfast was excellent.

The foam mattress is a disaster. It was just one thing that ruined the whole experience. No matter how good the foam mattress is, it makes me sweat immediately. It is also hard as a rock. I was tossing and turning constantly. I would wake up in the middle of the night literally completely soaking wet because the mattress does not circulate air. How do I know the mattress is the problem? I owned 3 foam mattresses and all of them did exactly the same thing. I went back to hybrid coil mattress and all of my issues were eliminated immediately. Please invest in better softer coil/hybrid mattresses and I will absolutely return again.

Modern hotel in a very characteristic former school building. Beautiful designed spaces and rooms and very pleasant to stay in. Showers are great, bed is fantastic. Bar and restaurant have a very pleasant atmosphere. Cosy, enclosed terrace to have a drink. Staff is very welcoming and helpful!

This time we had a split level room, stair to entresol is bit uncomfortable to go to the bathroom at night. Just to know about this minor discomfort. The English part of the breakfast was ok-ish (bacon should be crisp and scrambled egg should be scrambled). But again, minor point.

Cool atmosphere. Near city square walking area. Staff is polite and professional. All problems seem to be management or relationship with laundry business.

1. Laundry disaster. I filled out form gave to staff as requested for same day delivery. I checked out before laundry returned. I was billed for laundry. Now I will be charged to DHL my clothes back to me. 2. Hilton honors member but booked through third party due to work requirements. Sad that no points can be applied. 3. Wireless did not work with my phone. I had to use data when at hotel.

Amazing personal, big rooms with climate control and good location near the city centre.

Pillows smells really weird(

The room was comfortable.

Well, I was charged an additional 117 euros, and nobody informed me about this extra cost. At midnight, I was charged for the room I booked, and then during check-in, I was charged again for the same amount, plus an extra 30 euros. When I called the reception, they said it was all an authorization that would be returned. I hope that’s the case. I just wish they had informed me upfront about the extra 117 euros for authorization.

Nice historic building. It is lovely that they not just rebuilt the college to the hotel, but tried to preserve part of history of this interesting building. High ceilings feels so unusual and interesting. Location is also fantastic and so cozy. Also it was so delicious cookies at checkin :)

That’s a big issue for me that windows can’t be opened in a room. I always sleep with opened windows wherever I am because I need a flow of fresh air to have a good sleep, A/C doesn’t replace it properly
