- Lovely location - Nice breakfast, good options for everyone - Soft bed - Clean - Comfortable - Personnel was shy but friendly - Smart tv with free movies in english

- Half our view was the wall of the building besides us - The bathroom/toilet of the room is a glass box which causes you to not have any privacy from your roommate. - The shower was clogged with chalk which caused it to sprinkle everywhere. - Ofcourse it’s a downside to have to go up the steep hill to get to the hotel, but it’s worth the view! - You could make the location much more attractive for tourists to stay a bit by offering lunch or a cosy fire pit outside. - Dinner options were unclear to us to we did not eat at the fort. - Was a bit sad the room feels very modern instead of royal.

Amazing building. The place is marvelous. Really fantastic. But I guess the room was clean more thourully after I left...

I needed to pay 500 NOK for having a dog overnight. I was really surprised with this amount - would like to be informed about it, when I called to secure a room with this possibility (I wrote several messeges that I didn't get an answer to) - not only heard an information "some additional payment". But ok - understood. And then in the bathroom I found hair which wasn't cleaned after previous guests. The room was really clean but this made me doubt why I needed to pay so much for the dog if even I didn't get wholy cleaned room in the first place. I didn't inform personel, because they weren't easy available by the desk when I came to eat breakfast.

As I ordered I wasn’t aware of that if was literally inside the fortress, so that was a nice surprise to me. Beautiful place, quiet and this part of Kongsvinger was a unknown gem to me. Please take the time to explore the place and the walls that surrounds the fortress, it’s also stalactites to find, and museum summertime. The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are glass boxes and I assume it’s like that to meet the limits it must be to create a hotel inside an old place.

A beautiful hotel undergoing conversion from a military barracks within the castle grounds. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we ate at the resort in the evening and the food was excellent. Would recommend and I'm sure will only get better as the conversion completes

On arrival there was a distinct lack of signage, so it took a bit of sorting where to go. Parking is outside the fortress so if you have heavy bags it is a bit of a trek. The room we had was a suite and was very nice, although the lighting is over complicated and doesn't work effectively. A lack of hooks or hanging in the bathroom meant there was no where to hang towels

staff stereotyped me and my partner. I look more "european" but cannot speak Norwegian, he looks more "asian" but can speak and is local to the region - even after talking about this, staff continued to treat my partner as a foreigner and me as if I was a local.

Old nice area and buildings and the rooms with view

Dont book a room without view, they are dark and gives a bad feeling. The electrical sockets are few and poor installations. I dont understood the switches for lamps and/didnt work. Lacking stuff in the room like iron, hair fan. Water from tap didnt taste good.

One of the lightswitches didn't work, the shower had a lot of limescale and leaked into the bathroom. The breakfast area did not at all hold up to the appearance of the rest of the hotel.

An interesting place to stay - in the old barracks block of a hilltop fortress. Great views from the grounds. Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room, good facilities.

Breakfast a bit simple. No-one to welcome us to breakfast, no-one to ask when we ran out of things, no fresh fruit. Great decor, though.
