Clean, modern hotel, in a quiet rural location away from the more hectic Alona beach area. Very helpful grounds/cleaning staff. Dinners were simple but tasty. Breakfast a little pricey but there’s no alternatives in the area to eat/drink so that’s understandable. Although quite out of the way it was easy to get a tuk tuk to the busier areas. Good value

The communication with the main reception staff could be improved, not overly friendly and it was sometimes hard to find anyone around to speak to/lack of general information about facilities and area. The ‘spa’ is a room off the garden with external masseuses who get called in and to be paid in-cash, (not an issue but we weren’t told when booking which made things a bit awkward). There was also no refillable water on site so we had to ask the staff to fill up our bottles from the kitchen every time. Pool/garden is fully in shade so not a place for tanning if that’s your thing! Generally these were all minor points and didn’t impact our stay particularly.

First and foremost the proprietors and their staff are the exceptionally welcoming. They warmly greet guests and take care of everyone like they are honored family members. Frank waelcomes guests at the airport and Chai ensures all of the details of our accommodations are taken care of, their staff is attentive and courteous, and guest-centered. We appreciated their recommendations for yours and transportation. They gained our trust as a local point of reference who we could turn to for helping plan our itinerary , where to go, and how to get a there. Their team’s outstanding care is what makes Thistle Inn a jewel We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful stay at Thistle Inn. Locally owned restaurant, boutique-style, with a welcome balance of high end resort and Filipino charm. The property has a pool with a well manicured garden. They prepare freshly made food onsite and make fresh fruit beverages. The menu has limited but well-rounded with both Filipino and western cuisine that are presented beautifully and taste delicious. Our room accommodations were very comfortable and clean. Everyone in our multi-generational party remarked on the high quality of the beds.

The property is a little ways off the beaten path, which is both lovely and adds a bit of challenges. However the hotel proprietors are happy to help with connecting guests with transportation options.

A lovely family run Inn away from the hustle of Alona Beach made for a perfect stay on Panglao for us. Many thanks to Frank. Chie, Sarah, Erica and John for looking after us so well during our stay. We enjoyed the comfortable room, pool, cocktails and lovely food (both at breakfast and dinner). The airport pick up was also much appreciated. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The reliable tuk tuk service was great if we needed to go into town. The inn can arrange trips and mopeds for hire.

I really like the very accomodating staff who listens to all of our concerns. The owner is also the one who even greeted us at the airport and the one who also drove us back. I got injured in our trip and the staff was provided a first aid kit. Overall our stay is excellent and beyond my expectation. We enjoyed every second or our stay. Thank you very much for a very wonderful experience.

We didn't like the hot water coming out from the shower but the staff took action regarding that and fixed everything. The ac wasn't very cool but perhaps it is due to the hot weather or something. Everything is excellent but in my opinion such high quality thick covers and blankets are not opted for a not so cool room.

Surprisingly checked all what we look for in a hotel. We been in around Bohol and alot hotel yes have a view but lack service of a hotel, the traditional yet on trend, Thistle Inn make our stay good. First staff greeted us warmly even we arrived night 8pm. It was booked last minute. The place was nice and really have a nice vibe, they maximize space but doesn't look so small. Room are well lit, complete toiletries (lotion, shower gel, cotton, cotton buds, toothbrush, conditioning shampoo and smell good. The room is just right size, you can move around and have desk and small table and chair. Bathrobes, towels and slippers are provided. Toilet tiles are non slip love it. Have bidet too. Many plugs for gadgets are available (just bring adaptor). Food and drinks are provided with a charge but just right price. Rooms have Tv, kettle and water, coffee, tea is available for free. Swimming pool also is nice, aircon is so nice after tiring travel. Strong Water pressure and warm shower is the awesome. Sheets are clean and white. They also have scented sticks and deodorizer coal in hidden areas. Simple things but makes a difference. Wifi internet is strong and space in the room for working nomads is really good. Highly recommended this price vs service & comfort. Hopefully they maintain because some hotels change service after reviews and are very expensive.

Genuinely couldn’t recommend The Thistle Inn enough. The room is immaculately clean (with clean towels provided daily) and everything is well presented - the bed is super comfortable, all the room facilities are excellent (great aircon, free bottles or water daily). The facilities are fantastic - lovely garden and pool area as well as a bar and restaurant (the breakfast was 10/10). That staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and the family that own the hotel are so accommodating and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. If we make it back to Bohol, we will definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

The hotel is about 10 minutes tuktuk ride from a most of the main tourist spots in Panglao. However, we liked the quiet so it was perfect for us, and the staff were always really helpful with arranging transportation and tours etc.

This place is outstanding. The owners and the staff go above and beyond. We cannot recommend it enough, they are so helpful. Great recommendations, even made special pack lunch for our babies. The rooms themselves are impeccable. spacious and comfortable and incredibly clean.

You do need to get a tuktuk to get to places but that wasn't a problem and we always managed to get one at the door within 10 minutes.

The place was cozy, warm and relaxing vibe. The people are very friendly and attentive. They listen to what you need and are very generous with thwir time and service. You will love the homey feels. It’s also near some bigger resorts if uou want a beach experience although their pool was also a great place to chill. They serve good food with generous servings. They will also help you with tours and recreation recommendations. They keep everythinv clean and orderly. They also have a bar and restaurant.

A beautiful property with a relaxing atmosphere and all the amenities we needed. The staff were lovely and always very helpful. The food was also delicious and a very comfortable environment overall. Drivers were always available and motorbikes were available for use. We also were able to book all of our tours with the front desk which made our trip run very smoothly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a family friendly/quieter accommodation!

Well equipped hotel room with very comfortable furniture in private and peaceful location. Clean and spacious swimming pool as well as access to Momo beach within a 15 minute walk. Staff are very friendly and hotel services are carried out professionally to a high standard.

The water pressure in the shower could have been slightly stronger but this seems to be the norm in Bohol. There are not many restaurants in the area, a scooter or tuk tuks are needed for mobility.
