We loved this hotel!! We came to Bohol for 15 days and stayed the full time at Alona Royal Palm. What an amazing treat. Beautiful landscape with very nice spacious clean modern rooms. The location of the hotel is secluded - yet you are near to Alona Beach and the main road but you don’t feel the crowds nor commotion. Really nice pool surrounded with beautiful greenery- you just want to hangout at the property . It has a sense of privacy that people appreciate. The owner is on-site helping the guests with whatever needs. He listen to his guests and welcome constructive feedback. We went to Bohol to Dive and Stefan ,the owner, was super helpful in recommending an excellent dive shop. Stefan also runs an amazing restaurant with great food - and we got to see how he smokes his own ham and bacon. Not only smelled amazing but delicious. Many outsiders come to the restaurant cause it is good and has a nice ambience. While at this hotel you will notice details which shows they care and want you to have a high level experience. Next biggest thing was the staff. Wow - amazing people - friendly, professional and hard workers. While every guest interacts with Herbert (who is awesome) - all other staff members always have a smile looking to help and ensure the guests are good. We absolutely recommend this hotel. Note - we are full time travelers and hotels are part of our life. We have high standards - and this hotel definitely exceeded our expectations!

This was one of the best places we stayed in the Philippines. Immaculately presented with lovely pool and gardens. The staff were fantastic - Herbert in the restaurant and bar was fantastic. Daisy and her team with check in/out and room cleaning were first class and they addressed a very minor issue we had with a bed sheet very quickly and without fuss. The owners Stefan and Marianne (apologies if I have misnamed anyone!) were lovely. Always happy to chat and checking everything was ok. Can I just commend the chef in the restaurant! WOW! The food was exceptional. Christmas dinner was so so good. Please pass on our thanks to them! Alona beach is a quick 7-10 minute walk away and if you’re not up for walking there are many tuk tuks around outside for a cheap ride in. Some myths I just want to dispel for those who have read the reviews and are worried: 1. Yes there are credit card facilities! 2. The owners are really nice and are very reasonable and clearly care about their property a lot 3. If you’re worried about mosquitos then just get some mosquito repellant from the pharmacy next door. There’s not that many trust me. We didn’t get bothered by them at all. 4. There were no rules around not taking things like drinks from the bar back to your room. In fact the mini bar was completely stocked with food and drinks and we got a really nice complimentary Christmas gift on arrival of fruit and chocolates in our room. Such a nice touch. 5. There are toiletries provided (body wash, shampoo, hand wash, etc) 6. The dogs are THE BEST!

The staff was friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The location was better than I expected. It walking distance to Alona beach and lots of places to eat.

There is no lunch service in the hotel restaurant and the entry gate could be open a little longer for guests that stay out late.

Breakfast - WONDERFUL. I typically skip breakfast when traveling, but since it was included, I decided to give it a try. The hotel has a restaurant with a diverse menu, and the quality was impressive. The coffee was unlimited (I particularly enjoyed the hot latte!), and the server, Herbert, welcomed us with a smile and humor. The hotel owner is from Germany, so they offer a German breakfast in addition to American, Filipino, and other options. During our five-night stay, we tried nearly everything on the menu, and the German Farmer's Breakfast was our favorite. We ended up ordering it every day! Staff - All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Gerald & Herbert, and owner Stefen(a.k.a. Vin Diesel)! Hotel Atmosphere - The hotel is beautifully designed, quiet, and truly unique. It feels like you’re in a different world!

We had a late-night arrival (1 a.m.) and encountered some issues with check-in. Despite sending messages twice about our late arrival, the reception was unattended, the lights were off, and the gate was locked (though we later discovered that the side door was closed but not locked). Thankfully, a helpful tuk-tuk driver assisted us in making a phone call, and we were eventually able to check in. Check-in was quick and friendly with Stefan! The shower drain was clogged several times, so we had to deal with that issue after each shower. lol

Good quality, small hotel - 12 rooms. Considering it's size the range of food available at the restaurant was very impressive. Very friendly staff. Many thanks to all, especially Herbert behind the bar / table service etc.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Herbert, Melvin, Gerald and Daisy were extremely easy going and pleasant. Stefan and his wife were engaging and accommodating and have a wonderful property and restaurant nicely isolated a few hundred yards from the main drag. The room was very well appointed, clean, quiet and all functions were up to par. The grounds are nicely groomed and the pool is beautiful. I can't say enough about the menu, service and the complete dining experience as they really understand food! Must try the goat cheese salad. :) The best part of my day was coming "home" to Alona.

We enjoyed our stay at Alona Royal Palm Resort. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were in cottages around the pool area. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, enough storage space for the luggage, and a separate bathroom. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good and plenty with very good coffee.

Some other guests were very loud one night, and the rooms were not so soundproof. I wish somebody from the staff would have taken care of that.

Super friendly staff and the location is perfect, it's quiet and peaceful yet close enough to the beach and all restaurants. We enjoyed our huge serving breakfast every morning and we had one dinner there which was tasty and a good portion too. We arrived early due or flight yet the owner tried everything to check us in earlier which was very nice. The room was spacious and even had Nespresso machine. We live to come back in the future.

The staff at Alona Royal Palm resort, especially Herbert and Stacy, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Kudos to them for their excellent service and especially for recommending Oceanica and Bohol Beach Club on Dumaluan beach, in my opinion the nicest beach in Panglao. The breakfast was fantastic and like everything else on the menu very tasty, well prepared and served in a timely manner. The pool was good sized and super clean, although a little warm. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful. The three dogs: Tequila, Sunrise, and Whiskey were cute and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is about 50m up a semi-paved gravel road, and upon arrival our car driver left us off on the main highway (I guess he didn't want to drive on the gravel). Once we checked in we arranged to connect with a Tuk-tuk driver who not only had no problem driving up the gravel driveway, he also became of personal driver when we visited other beaches and places on Panglao Island. BTW, I live in Subic, not Taiwan, as your form shows.

The Hotel, is a nice & quiet property with clean and spacious rooms. It is located near Alona beach (about 5mins by walk), yet in a quiet secluded location. There are many dining options near the hotel. The pool and restaurant are very nice. They offer a la carte breakfast included in the room fee, which I actually prefer because it’s made to order and fresh food. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and can even help you book tours and transportation at a relatively reasonable price.
