Great budget hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. They made me feel very welcome and even sent a message once I left to ask for any improvements. They have everything you need:  Hot shower, AC, fridge,a good hairdryer.and as a bonus a washing machine which you can use for free! As a solo traveller the location was perfect and wasn't too loud at night (keeping in mind how central it is). Good restaurants around and breakfast places which are tasty and open early (at 6AM, in case you have an experience booked, which starts early). Would definitely stay again.

Alona Gecko Inn is a great place to stay in Alona. The beach is about 5-6 minutes from the inn and there are plenty of restaurants, washing service and shops around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is well sized, the bathroom is clean and the bed is very comfortable. Every room has a nice terrace where you can sit and enjoy the view of the garden.

In some of the rooms they have older air conditioners which are rather noisy.

Even though this place is near the centre of Panglao, it was very quiet as it was set back from the Main Street. The room was very well thought out and had lots of shelves for storing luggage. The staff were always friendly. The WiFi was an excellent speed. There is a free washing machine to use here (you just need to buy detergent), and lots of space to dry your clothes outside. There are free beach towels for hire. The beds were very comfy. The shower water pressure and volume was excellent.

I couldn't have asked for a better home base for my 2 weeks in Alona Beach. Perfect location with tons of great restaurants nearby in a quiet and beautiful setting with many trees and birds. The room was very comfortable with a big window and glass door which made it feel bright and spacious. As a bonus the room had many well-placed electrical outlets, and screens on the windows, both rare in Asia. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the free water is another nice bonus.

The shower was a pain to use but it gets the job done.

Great budget accommodation option, walking distance to Alona Beach, shops & restaurants. Liked that there was a ceiling fan as well if you didn't want the air-conditioning on when you slept. Liked that there was fridge & kettle in room & washing machine on site to use for free. Great that there was a clothes rack outside on the balcony to dry your clothes.

Only improvement suggestion - have curtains that reach the floor to block out outside light.

Very good location. Everything you need is within walking distance. The people working at the hotel are very very helpful. Everything is very clean and the room is cleaned every day if requested. You can fill your drinking water bottle. The possibility to do laundry, and we were helped to do that too, because the washing machine was unfamiliar. We stayed longer than originally booked. Thank you for the very nice reception!

I stayed for 5 nights at Alona Gecko Inn and had a very pleasant experience. Overall, I would stay here again if returning to Panglao and looking to stay close to Alona Beach. Rooms: My room was very clean from the bedroom to the bathroom, with a small but pretty terrace which I found very nice in the evenings. The room included a fridge which was useful, as well as a small desk with space for two people to sit. The room might be on the smaller side for a couple or a couple travelling with a child, but it was perfect for me as a solo traveler. Location: The location is excellent, close enough to Alona beach that food and retail options are a quick walk while being far enough away that the hotel has a somewhat tranquil feel in the evenings. 5-10 min walk away from the beach to a good coffee shop (Overgrown Cafe) and a reasonably priced eatery (Andrea's Kawayan Eatery). Facilities: Not a whole lot to say here as the hotel does not offer food / activities. The grounds are very well landscaped however, which is a nice extra touch.

Not sure if I missed it, but free drinking water would be a helpful and eco-friendly offering, rather than selling bottled water.

Nice complex, very well maintained. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Loved how the shower is seperated from the rest of the bath area. It is a good shower too. The beds were good. If you don't like the tin sheets, you can ask for blankets. There is a small parking spot, in case you come by car. Shops, restaurants and the beach are all closeby.

Not an issue to us, but there's a plumbing problem: there are drain flies all over, and especially in the bathroom. They are harmless to humans, though. An extra mirror would be nice. There is only one in the bathroom, and it is hanging real low.

Good location near the central road; 5-6 min walk to the beach; lots of cafes in the area. Good size room; hot water, aircon, WiFi sufficient for video calls.

One thing which I did not expect was that there was no window in the room. There are glass doors but you mostly cover them with curtains. Staff did not give any info about facilities on arrival; for example, info about laundry room.
