Great location, lovely bar and cafe, kind staff, cool decor and vibe, very clean and good value. Our room had a little Juliet balcony overlooking the river.

Being next to the terrace, if we had our doors or windows open, smoke came into our room. The bedroom was very simple but it was fine for us. The bathroom and toilet were open to the bedroom so no privacy. The shower didn’t seem to quite work as it should and the blind looked a bit mouldy but you need it down because the wall is a entirely glass overlooking the river.

The design and decor is beautiful, very much to my taste. The staff at the reception is very welcoming. The room view is breathtaking and it was all very clean and tidy.

I was with my daughter so it was ok, but the fact that our bathroom did not have any wall (opened to the side of the room) might leave people uncomfortable. I love the cafe (I’ve been there several times before) but this time they didn’t supply enough food and didn’t have much options to eat or drink.

Excellently placed right near the centre with a beautiful outlook of the river.

Most of the toilet doors don’t lock so swing open all the time while you are using the loo and when you are on the loo the automatic movement control for the lights doesn’t detect you so you end up in the dark. Not a major problem but just a minor thing that could be corrected easily.

Very large kitchen with six hobs,microwave,two ovens,toaster,large fridge and kettle. You can sit in bar area. Comfortable mattresses.You can walk down river on both sides.Quiet location. Shower was like standing in a warm waterfall.Only ten minute walk from bus station.

Dorms are very basic and you feel like you are in a garage with no soundproofing from any noise echoing down the corridor.. I had to use an additional quilt from an empty bed as too thin for the time of year. Hostel breakfast very basic.

I like absolutely everything in the service provided by Des Arts. - Location: perfect place in the heart of Amarante, the river is close, where you can see nany fishes, hear birds singing and feel the nature. - Staff: sweet and kind people, the best part of the staying. You guys are doing a great job!! - Beds: comfortable and clean . - Rooms: medium size, clean good ventilation

- Some guests... Although they're also guests, some people are staying in Des Arts for long since they're working in Amarante... I think some guests could be a bit aware that they should not bring their bad manners from home to a shared space dedicated for rest and leisure of others.

The room, location and breakfast were all excellent

An overhead light on both sides of the room would have been perfect because my side of the room did not have one. And the timers for the lights in the bathroom need to be longer so you're not constantly waving your hands when you need to be in there for more than 30 seconds.

The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious...fresh squeezed juice, cheese, cold meats and an assortment of breads.

We would have preferred a door on the bathroom.

Lovely place, right next to the river! Staff are very friendly, kitchen is lovely. Would recommend for the price and location.

The light in the bathroom stayed on for like a minute not great when showering had to keep waving my arm out the shower to turn the light back on. Breakfast was terrible- ham/cheese and bread but the bread had run out 2 out of 3 times I got there.

Comfort, location is beautiful! Community kitchen for preparing your own food. The staff are super helpful.

We stayed in May and my son and I are hot sleepers. But the AC is not functional until summer months. We slept with the balcony door open and it was completely comfortable. Not a deal breaker for us.

Great location. We were in the bunkhouse which was lovely and new although it smelled a little of fresh paint or varnish. It was spotless and the bedding was great. The communal showers and kitchen were also great. The balcony bar was lovely.
