We spent 5 wonderful nights at Lago Montargil AP Conference & Spa as a family and had an unforgettable experience. The facilities are beautiful, the surroundings peaceful, and the service was outstanding. A special thanks to Sr. António Filho from the buffet – such a kind and warm person! Our kids absolutely loved meeting him. He made us feel welcome every single day with his friendliness and care. Perfect for families looking to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy excellent hospitality. We’ll definitely return!

Amazing Stay – Just Like a Tropical Paradise! 🌴 Despite some mixed reviews we saw earlier, our experience at this hotel was fantastic! ✨ The territory is stunning – just like in a tropical resort or an oasis. Everything is beautifully maintained, with palm trees, pools, and lush greenery all around. It really feels like you're in a postcard! 🏨 Our room was excellent – spacious, clean, and with a lovely view of the pool surrounded by palm trees. 🙌 The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. 🍽️ Food and drinks were totally fine – we especially enjoyed the breakfast (and even had live piano music in the mornings 🎹!). 🎂 They surprised us with a little cake and bubbly on a birthday – such a thoughtful touch! 🪑 There are several restaurants: one à la carte, and one with buffet options. We liked the à la carte one better – you can sit outside on the terrace with no buffet crowds. 💆‍♀️ We didn’t try the SPA, but everything else was great. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend AP Lago Montargil Conference & Spa for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting. P.S. I believe complaints usually start in high season when it gets too busy – the staff seemed to manage well during our stay in mid-June.

In my view, 5 star hotel is a 5 star hotel. Everything needs to be perfect and this hotel has many room to improve to be considered a 5 star rated hotel. Material are showing deterioration, garage a bit dark, service despite the kindness and professionalism of the associates needs to improve in speed. Probably a cultural change is needed as profit shouldn’t result from understaffed initiatives (cost and number of workers). I think is clear that there is understaffed situations (nautic club).

My wife stayed at the hotel, so this review is from her: I went away for the weekend to immerse myself in nature, relax at a great hotel, visit the spa, and reset. The hotel is perfect for this. It’s also an excellent choice for a romantic getaway. The staff is not just polite—they provide outstanding service. Every interaction made me feel like a truly welcomed guest. All my requests were met, and I was even offered an upgraded room. Breakfast comes with live piano music, and on Sunday, ladies were given flowers. The spa is nice, sauna is fantastic! There’s also a heated indoor pool with very convenient opening hours. The beds are excellent. The grounds are small but beautifully maintained. I would love to return again!

Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable, spa facility, outdoor pools, delicious food at both buffet, fixed menu and the à la carte restaurant. Calm, quiet room with terrace, huge shower & coffee maker. Quality of all-inclusive drinks was ok. Piano music in the morning was an unexpected surprise and lots of food choices at breakfast including good options for non-dairy diet. Good communication about closure/limitation of certain facilities with it being out of season and on some days few guests which didn’t warrant a full buffet for lunch/dinner. We were very happy with our stay and thought all the staff did a great job of taking care of us. We would like to thank Nelio for helping us settle and assisting during our stay. 5* service also from Marco - every interaction (with us and others) seemed to be with a smile.

Breakfast would be EVEN better if warm plates were offered for hot breakfast items. Also a tiny bit challenging booking spa/massages as there was rarely anyone at the spa reception (probably not the case in busy season) - they do call you back!

The hotel has 6 or 7 different pools, all of them are amazing. It's great because you can spend each day in a different spot and all of them feel quite different. The breakfast has a lot of options and all the staff is very very nice. The location is epic, right next to Montargil lake. Lots of different cocktails and drinks to choose from.

There are very little food options during the day (5 sandwiches and that's it) - it should definitely have more options such as hamburgers, salads, and better sandwiches like club sandwich. Only one of the pools has a bar, which means you have to walk there to order, sometimes they can bring your order to you (if they have staff), sometimes you have to collect it yourself. It should be possible to order in the other pools. The eggs at the breakfast were too buttery, it can also be improved.

The breakfast was superb! A full English breakfast, a full Portuguese breakfast, pastries, waffles, fruit, cereals, tea (and teapots!), coffee, juices and espumante. Delicious. We ate in the hotel for dinner too, and although the portions weren't the largest, the quality was excellent. The variety of pools is really fun, and we did the free spa circuit which was super relaxing. The staff are wonderfully friendly, and we appreciated the bar and pool table for after dinner. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms nicely laid out. Would stay again!

The only funny thing is the layout - the architect clearly went on a design adventure. As other reviewers have said, you have to walk across the forecourt to reach one of the indoor pools, and the front desk gives out maps when you check in. And there are maps and stickers everywhere to guide you, because the layout is odd! However, it makes it kind of fun too :-P The billiards is a great service, but it feels a bit stingy to charge by the minute, and same feeling for the coffee machine in the lobby (just give free coffee, it's not a huge cost but makes a huge difference in the feel).

The calmness, the vegetation and surroundings really makes it feel like a resort. The food was really good. Wide variety in the breakfast buffet with local products (the honeycomb!), the live piano during breakfast, the dinner buffet also well served and the a la carte restaurant with the superior touch of the chef using the traditional Portuguese food specialties from which we highlight the coelho de escabeche, the risotto de cogumelos trufados and the mil folhas de pastel de nata com moscatel!! Spa circuit and the wellness massage options. Really good cocktails and bar service.

There was no food/drink menu list in the room. We ordered dinner snacks once and some were delivered cold (should be warm gambas a guillo) The room service fee should be mentioned in the reception at the check-in or in the service conditions flyer.

Rooms are super comfy Staff is overall very competent, although with some extra training could become way better Hotel as a overall has great installations

Some staff did not have the knowledge of what was included on the “All Inclusive” ! Had an issue with the room cleanliness but was promptly resolved. Just 1 bar for 3 pools seem short but in fairness we did not had to wait long for drinks, but if you’re on the low floor you have to walk a bit to grab a beer or a cocktail. Overall a good experience but it could have been better because the hotel has a very good potential as a overall resort

All was good, pools and facilities are great, what staff there were were always helpful and friendly. One member of staff in particular, the Portugeses lady at breakfast every morning was absolutely superb never stopped and made sure everyone was happy.

Except the staff levels, there is a shortage of staff at the hotel and it showed at times, new staff being trained up and although they were all very nice and helpfull they obviously needed more experience and training. The buffets were generally good but one dinner time the staff forgot to switch on the display food heaters so everything was cold very quickly. Never saw any of the restaurant management during our stay!
