We had a classic twin room which didn't have a view of the castle nor a balcony however the room was very spacious with a huge TV and the bathroom was massive. Rain shower in the bathtub. Huge thick bath towels. The Aircon worked well and there were plenty of pillows, extra wool blankets and hangers in the wardrobe. We had complimentary bottles of water daily and I even managed to request a kettle in the room. Hotel had a good sized gym, indoor heated pool as well as a nice outdoor pool. There was also a price list for massages in the spa. Chargers bedside which was handy plus bathrobes for the spa and swimming towels. Breakfast was in a lovely sunny room and there was plenty of fresh fruits and bread in the buffet. A good breakfast!! Plenty of sitting out areas to enjoy the view and living rooms with fire places inside. Cosy for winter stays. Plenty of on site secure parking and the convent still has an operational chapel attached to the hotel. Great venue for weddings!! Beautiful scenery. The town is 5 minutes away by car and there are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, antique and carpet shops in the main square.

My usual complaint everywhere I go... The beds were rock hard! I had to sleep on the duvet and luckily there were wool blankets available for cover. No walk-in shower despite the size of the ensuite bathroom. The WiFi connection was quite poor mainly because of the thick stone walls, kept cutting off so I had to hotspot with my 5G phone. The main restaurant was only open for breakfast unfortunately so we had to drive 5mins into Arraiolos town for dinner. Not a problem as there were plenty of choices recommended by the hotel.

This is a fabulous historic building in a beautiful setting. A pleasure to explore the buildings (especially the magnificent church) and peaceful grounds. Our room was full of character with a wonderful view. Well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent too. A memorable experience at a bargain price! Be aware that the pousada is quite isolated, a bit too far to walk into town, and the restaurant closed out of season. Not a concern for us though.

Our only complaint was that our sleep was disturbed at various times during the night by staff chatting in the reception area. This beautiful building is also very echoey! We suggested that staff talk quietly during the night.

The hotel was great and there was nothing that we didn’t like. The location was very quiet. The breakfast was very good and it was good that we didn’t have to pay extra for it. We liked the pool and gym although none of the machines seemed to work which might be a problem if a guest wanted to use them. We didn’t so it didn’t affect us. The parking was very good.

The gym equipment wasn’t working. We would have liked a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.

The hotel is in a converted convent with some modern additions. The rural setting is magical, and the hotel is magnificent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with equally spacious bathrooms. The spa, indoor pool, outdoor pool, the courtyards and the gardens are all beautiful.

There appears to be a management issue with this beautiful property. Stained carpets in the sitting areas/ bar, as well as in hallways, some sofas in the common areas appear to be quite worn, some outdoor chairs are unraveling. These are all issues that can be fixed adult and without spending a lot of money. The place has such an upscale feel to it, and should be managed as such.

Beautiful old convent converted into a hotel. There is lots of rooms around the the hotel to explore and to chill. The grounds around the hotel are well take care of. Staff was mostly local Portuguese folk which is always great to see and they were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast could have a bit more variety of choices. The indoor swimming pool can get a bit crowed during some times of the day (during Winter).

Absolutely wonderful pousada and surroundings. The chapel took our breath away. Lovely and friendly staff. Stunning views from the pool and breakfast area. Quiet and relaxing stay. Welcoming water, fruit and chocolate was a wonderful touch!

There was a dog that barked constantly all night long not to far from our room 108 (but outside the pousada of course). That really disturbed our sleep and didn't not at all match the tranquility of the daytime and area. The bed was painfully hard to sleep on. We stayed in a hotel in Serpa the night before and compared to the breakfast we got there and being a Pestana hotel we felt the breakfast was nothing special (bacon hard as a biscuit and not tasty either), no toaster, coffee machine didn't make proper café etc...

Breakfast is superb , the bed, linen , towels, are very comfy, the bathroom and bedroom are clean and spacious, we slept with birds chirping. It was very nice to sit outside and listen to the birds and enjoying the nature.

Everything was perfect.

Breakfast was outstanding dinner less so. I ordered lamb and some breaded dry thing was served to me that was not at all tasty. The next night was better. Our room was beautiful including the view. The actual building is a wonderful restoration. I have been before in the spring for lunch.

The reception were not checking vaccine certifications, unlike anywhere i visited on the whole trip. That seemed disrespectful of the staff to allow them to be exposed in such a manner, and of course those of us who were vaccinated and want the assurance that everyone was. We did not get that assurance.

Great service in general. The restaurant staff member Jilson was exceptionally kind and professional. He made us feel special and did his best to accommodate our request.

The cats jumping to our table outside while eating wasnt so nice, but we guess they are used to be feed by other guests.

Great pool. Peaceful location. Room clean and comfortable.

Restaurant not open for dinner. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
