Montimerso is a beautiful retreat with top-notch facilities. The bedroom was spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, as was the WC. The views from the property are breathtaking, and the swimming pool area is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with plenty of chairs for everyone. We also enjoyed the scenic walks around the property, perfect for a morning workout. Everything was spotless.

The breakfast service could use some improvement. It was often slow, with food and drinks not being replenished promptly, and tables were left uncleaned for longer than expected. Additionally, the air conditioner was a bit tricky to manage as the remote control wasn't very responsive.

This our second time here because this hotel is our favorite. The staff are really warm and caring but also skilled professionals. Nicole was very generous in particular, but it’s a great team. The design is excellent, the location is beautiful and peaceful with a great pool and delicious meals. The massages and sauna were new to us this time and very well done. We feel truly cared for and restored whenever we come here. Even our cat, lazing away on the patio or the bed the hotel provided him, enjoys vacation time here.

There’s nothing not to like!

Great very remote location with a spectacular view of the alqueva lake. Comfortable bed and a very nice room. Friendly and very helpful staff. From check in to check out everything was great! We particularly loved the dogs (Estrella!) and the very quiet pool area. If you want to relax in the middle of nowhere this is the place to be!

The only thing I missed were two very little things but nothing which made my stay less enjoyable; better comfortable chair / laying chairs options perhaps at the rooms terrace and that the restaurant was exactly closed on sunday and monday when we were there was very unfortunate but again here we got great help and phenomenal recommendations from the hotel staff.

The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and chatty. The room was comfortable with a fantastic view down to the lake, There was a kettle in the room and milk was supplied for us to make tea. Our dog enjoyed the walk down to the lake for a swim there too. Breakfast and dinner were also lovely.

There was a little noise from the road nearby.

Just the perfect place for a rest and recovery.. Everything was clean and neat, the pool and surroundings are incredible with Alqueva always on the sight, breakfast is very tasty and fresh, staff was 100% friendly and nice on all occasions, always with a smile on their faces, all of them have spoiled our little dog (Ellie) including the other sweet dogs in the villa. all in all, absolutely recommend it - peaceful, quiet and full of positivity, where you can really connect with nature!

Wonderful clean views to the Alqueva lake! Surprising architecture, cozy common spaces. Comfortable and minimalist rooms with a private outdoor area. Helpful and friendly staff, ask and you will get it! Charge an electric car, a guide tour to the starry sky, binoculars to see the birds and bikes to wonder around!!!!

Gorgeous Countryhouse and landscape, close to one of the most beautiful historic villages of Alentejo (Monsaraz), super clean hotel, lovely staff, great breakfast. Perfect to relax and appreciate the nature in the heart of Portugal. The infinity pool, spa and the details throughout the house and estate were amazing. We will come back! ❤️

We stayed in different type of the room. First night room with a lake view without a plugged pool. 2nd night stayed with a view of countryside with a plugged pool. Both room are amazing with spectacular view. Our favorite is the one facing country side with plugged pool as it is facing Monsaraz castle. We traveled with our dog and the property is dog friendly hotel. This is the place where you wanna get away from hustle bustle life. Definitely will be back to this hotel. Not forgot to mentioned that the staff is super helpful and friendly.

The dogs live in a house, which door you must pass to get to your room. When they are outside, they react very protective/agressive. It happened to us three times during our two night stay. I had to get to reception and ask to help me pass twice. And I like dogs! This should not be in a hotel in that price range, thats more a B&B situation.

This is a gem of a place. But beware and do your research - it is pretty much middle of nowhere - which is one of its plus points! We had the Alqueva suite with private plunge pool and view of the lake - stunning. We had a flawless sky and so really got to appreciate the stars and the milky way. The room is huge and beautifully presented. The staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful - booking trips for us and generally being there for everything we needed. We will be going back to see the spring in full bloom.

It is hard to dislike anything here but if I had to give them a recommendation - the restaurant is just a little bit too much like a cafe. In the evening it is a little bright and lacks a little atmosphere.
