The facility is beautiful, and within short walking distance to many of the main attractions in the city. The staff bent over backwards to meet our needs and took the time and energy to do so. The breakfast buffet was lovely.

Parking is a challenge if you are driving there (very limited street parking and one space in a garage at the hotel). Not a deal killer, but be aware that parking a car near the hotel could be a challenge. We weren't able to get AC in our room to work, even with help from the receptionist -- but ended up being comfortable anyway.

This hotel is a wonderful example of adaptive use. The front part of the hotel is housed in a 16th century building while the rooms are all brand new construction. It is a beautiful space, clean lines, and comfortable furnishings. Plenty of places to lounge throughout the property, both inside and outside. The breakfast was outstanding, with great options to fit all eating styles. I especially enjoyed trying the regional cheeses. Will definitely go back when I’m in that part of the country.

Great location! Close to the village centre, historic sites and numerous restaurants. The rooms are spacious and the hotel has a number of lounges. Afternoon tea is provided in one of the lounges and includes cookies and cake!. The breakfast is excellent, with great variety - even catering to gluten free! All staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

The proprietor paid a lot of attention to details. There was so much to see and discover at this hotel. Every nook had an item of interest. Loved the vintage space, the kids space, the games/library room, the tea room.....so much. The pool area (though we didn't use) looked great and was used by other clients. There were restaurants available and Vila Viscosa was a surprising little town (enjoyed a free piano concert one evening at the palace!) The staff were attentive and helpful. The towels in the bathroom were large and ample.....wonderfully luxurious!!!!!! Inclusive breakfast, ample and lots to choose from with fruit available!!! Overall excellent!!!!

Only thing that I can think of is extra pillows. However, I didn't ask for them either.

The hotel is beautiful and just around the corner from the palace (where there is ample parking) and all other sights in Vila Vicosa. Our double room exceeded our expectations - we had a separate large lounge area and two terraces overlooking the pool and central area. Breakfasts are varied with hot and cold options. The scrambled egg, in particular, was very good. Somehow we managed to resist the two types of cake on offer (one carrot with a chocolate topping). There is a kettle with tea and coffee which guests can use throughout the day, which we particularly liked. There is also a fascinating little vintage clothes shop on site, which we only visited at night (when it was closed) but seemed very reasonably priced.

Unfortunately - as is usually the case in Portugal - the pool isn't heated, which meant it was a very short dip for me! Everything else was perfect.

Excellent stylish hotel in beautiful Vila Viçosa. Great breakfast and very comfortable rooms. Stayed several times and always a joy. Very helpful and friendly with great restaurants and bars close by but quiet and peaceful.

What a wonderful gem of a hotel! We loved the modern renovation of an ancient building, the delightful indoor and outdoor public spaces and the marble sculptures thand art work on display. Added bonus of complementary tea and cake throughout the day! Breakfast was at least the standard of a good 4-star hotel.

I loved the people working there. Everyone was so kind. On our last day, they saw us enjoying the sun before our check-out and told us that we could stay a little longer if we wanted to and not to worry about checkout. Awesome! We had zero problems while staying there.

Hotel is very new and nicely decorated, rooms and all common areas are vey specious, breakfast very nice. I wish we had time to use the pool and relax in tea room. Parking in town was easy and we were offered a garage space in the hotel.

The rooms have balconies that oversee the internal courtyard which is quite pleasant. My room was huge. The hotel has little nooks and crannies which are delightful. They also leave a 24h self-service area where you can make your own tea from a varied selection of teas, it was very comforting. Breakfast also was a pleasant surprise it had a wide range of offerings.
