A short drive off the main road, easy to get back on the highway. Car park very large with shaded trees, also parking under solar panels. We had our dogs in our van for overnight, completely safe & quiet, easy to walk the dogs in the car park & along the long drive. Very clean accommodation, large premium room with 2 Juliet balconies (top corner of building our room) & perfect air conditioner in room. Breakfast was continental with fresh bread, cheese, ham, & satisfying. The staff were very friendly. We definitely plan to stop here again on our way to/from the ferries to Britain. We only got to see 1 cat, & it ran away… No cats in the Villa or rooms. They are wild cats that live outside.

Beautiful welcoming swimming pool “CLOSED”.. mid May, on a hot, hot day. Very disappointing that Portugal thinks pool season is 1st June (some say July) - through to 1st September. If they opened the pool earlier months until October guests would use the pools, of course the accommodations would charge accordingly. It’s very annoying that accommodations show pictures & advertise swimming pools, however, only when you arrive you find the pool “CLOSED”…..

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and tranquility of this beautiful place. The hotel is surrounded by stunning nature, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere - perfect for a getaway from the busy world. The building itself is full of character, blending history with comfort. Our room was spacious, cozy, and had everything we needed for a restful stay. The outdoor areas, with their lush gardens and picturesque surroundings, made us feel like we had stepped into a peaceful retreat. The staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast was delicious, with fresh and local products that added to the charm of the experience. This is the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer. If you’re looking for a quiet, elegant, and authentic escape, this hotel is a fantastic choice. We absolutely loved it and would love to return!

The slightly aged interiors make it feel like a step back in time, which fits beautifully with the overall ambiance. So while modernization wouldn’t hurt, it’s not something that takes away from the experience.

Lovely location in beautiful old house with newer additions but 'faded elegance' might be best description. Dinner was very good. Room was large. Impressive though neglected grounds and facilities.

Bathroom needed a good deep clean - lots of mould on tiling. Generally 'tired' although good quality fittings. Room was cold and blower heater struggled to get it warm. No heating in bathroom. Hotel in general was cold, but this was January and sub zero overnight. Method for ordering breakfast was unusual - had to complete an order via an online ordering app the night before. It worked though.

Comfortable room with fridge and very quiet aircon. Lovely gardens and a great pool with plenty of umbrellas and loungers. It was very hot, so all of the above facilities were much appreciated. There was also shade for parking the car. Free parking on site. Very nice dining room with a good menu. Lovely traditional decorations with several comfortable communal rooms. We did get lost once trying to find our room, but we're rescued by a helpful young lady.

Breakfast was ok. Adequate, I would say, rather uninteresting.

Setting was great, very bucolic and relaxing on a working farm, complete with walking trails, olive trees and even a friendly donkey! The quinta has clearly seen better days with more business & the pool area, tennis courts etc looked a little ragged. But staff is clearly doing best to keep clean & generally very comfortable.

Unfortunately our dinner was a little disappointing with some clearly spoiled olives, wilted lettuce, dated bread & cheese etc. We were glad not to get sick. (By contrast, everything at breakfast was fresh & excellent.)

The quinta is a fabulous relic from, I believe, the 1600s that has since been modernised (of course) while still preserving the charm and atmosphere of old Portugal, and even has its own chapel. It's set in lovely grounds a couple of kilometres off the main road outside Elvas, making the sense of stepping into the past even stronger. The heat, silence and languor, a good complimentary breakfast, and a decent evening meal with a great red Alentejano wine made for a fantastic stay en route from Portugal into Spain.

The internet didn't reach our room, but was available in the reception, bar, restaurant and breakfast areas.

We have visited the place many times and keep coming back. The old Quinta is very pretty with many different fruit trees and we were able to pick fresh blackberries daily. The pool is great for a relaxing afternoon. The staff has always been very polite and friendly.

It's an old Quinta with some old furniture and quirks, which is OK, these add to the character and charm...but the mattresses could definitely do with some renewing.

Peaceful quiet retreat, perfect for relaxing. Gòod value and easy to find, just trust sat nav when turn of main road, not exactly sign posted prominently. Stayed one night travelling through but would be happy to return for short break. Old quinta charm, not modern concrete box.

Need car to access, as bit of beaten track, but this helped make it quiet and peaceful. For those travelling with car excellent. Also restricts choice at night to eat, but luckily food at dinner excellent but if for long period may find restrictive. Breakfast standard hotel buffet.

It was a fine hotel at one time but appears that maintenance has been allowed to lapse. Perhaps the COVID lockdown caused it to lose a lot of money. The staff were nice. I'd stay again but maybe in the summer.

The hot water wasn't really hot enough for a bath and the bath had lost its enamel so it felt very rough. The place needed its exterior to be painted and grass and weeds removed from the roof of the breakfast area which had water leakage staining the inside walls.

Breakfast was great. Fresh orange juice, breads, pastries, hot eggs and bacon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are gorgeous - faded elegance, a bit wild, and peaceful. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. A truly independent hotel, unique, with fascinating character and elegance.

We aren’t keen on showering over the bath. Coffee at breakfast not to our taste.
