We stopped for one night en route from Santander to the Algarve. The Premium room we’d been allocated was enormous, well appointed, and had a double bed that needed me to have a megaphone to be heard by my wife on the far side of it, due to its size. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant (conveniently on the same third floor as our room), and were really impressed by the quality of the food, along with an excellent and substantial wine list. The list of Ribera del Duero wines on their own was impressive by any standards. The bed was just to our liking, and we felt refreshed in the morning. We found the breakfast was one of the best we had seen on our travels, and definitely worth including in the reservation price. If we ever do the trip again by car, this will certainly be our stopover destination.

Very well appointed modern hotel, convenient for the railway station and overlooking the river that flows through Badajoz. Very helpful staff, upgraded us to a junior suite which was fabulous. Breakfast was very good, and we also used the Hotel's restaurant for a late lunch which was in a lovely room with panoramic views of the river and town. The meal was very well prepared and again staff were very helpful.

It would have been nice if the breakfast could have been in the restaurant, but we understand that this was just a temporary relocation.

The facilities are excellent, the room was quiet (with a nice view of the Guadiana river) and the location was also very good (close to the bridge that leads to the old town). But the highlight was the amicability and professionalism of its staff, particularly DAVID at the reception who went out of his way to give us a nicer room and much earlier than the standard check-in time. This is the attitude that differentiates certain hotel staff from others, and DAVID's attitude in pleasing the customer is rated at the top of his profession. I congratulate NH Extremadura for the quality of its staff, as represented by DAVID.

There was nothing I didn't like, everything was top.

My wife and I stayed for one night at the NH Gran on our way from Spain to Portugal and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was of a very generous size and was well fitted out. The cleanliness of this hotel was exceptional. It smelt and was clean. Staff were very friendly with reception staff a standout in taking a little time to explain the sights of the city and to mark a few things on a map for us. It was very much appreciated. Lovely stay and recommneded.

When we arrived, first of all, I hadn't realised it was a 5 star hotel. Then we were told we were being upgraded. The chap at reception was excellent, so friendly and helpful, and the bearer of good news too obviously. Our room was superb, and, later, after coming back from an evening in the lovely Plaza Alta, he gave us a voucher for free drinks in the casino. So that was a bit of an experience too. We didn't do any gambling of course, but interesting to watch for a bit. The breakfast room has superb views towards the 'old town' on the other side of the river, and breakfast was fine. And to top it all, Badajoz itself is a lovely city. We were only staying there as it is a stopping off point for getting to Portugal by train. Incredibly there are only 2 entrance and exit points by train to and from Portugal, each with only 2 trains a day. Badajoz to Entroncamento is on, the other is Porto to Vigo. And the 2 trains from Badajoz are one coach diesel units.

This hotel was lovely, the bedroom extremely comfortable with a huge bed. The hotel restaurant was excellent, with wonderful food and wines. The food was also great in the Casino bar. The staff were very efficient and helpful and the underground parking was excellent.

Comfort welcome and staff.

I left a coat in my room and they refused to forward it to me even though I agreed to pay all the costs and more. They need to rethink this. I own a small hotel and guests leave item all the time; of course we forward items and guests are happy to pay the costs; why not this hotel group…it’s rated 5-Star…that is not 5-Star service.

Very welcoming staff, and an upgraded room given at check in, which was very much appreciated. Parking is available on site( chargeable) but very convienete. The old town of Badajoz is just a short walk away, but we chose to have early drinks in the Casino and a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurants.The menu choice was extensive, and a great wine selection. Extremely comfortable, well situated Hotel.

We booked a good room and it was simply perfect: comfortable bed, big bathroom and great river view. the breakfast was very good (not excellent since it could be better). The parking spot is another great thing. Staff is helpful and really nice to talk to. Hotel location is good if you have car or if you’re ready to walk some blocks to get into downtown. We didn’t use facilities: pool and gym. We visited the casino and it was well designed.

Nothing to add here. Some improvements points: a) place to have a tea snack b) inside restaurant should open before, maybe 7:30

Extremely spacious bedroom with a lovely shower and toiletry. The bed was very comfy and had everything we needed after hours of driving. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed with a modern and vibrant approach. There is a small gym with treadmill and cardio options but also some dumbbells to enable you to have a fair workout. As a plus, there is free water and apples in the gym, a good way to refresh after a hard sesh. I would certainly recommend this hotel

I would suggest that the reception staff could be fluent in English but generally, they were friendly enough. So, no bother. Other than that, there is a TB in the room but there is no Netflix nor good channel options which is not great for a hotel like NH. It is a quick fix, so I would defo recommend an upgrade on it.
