Great location just inside city walls, easy walk to many restaurants. We were able to get a free public car spot just as you enter the city. Lovely old building, buffet breakfast was good with plenty of options

We booked a double room & got a twin which isn’t a big deal for 1 night, also pictures show bottles of amenities like shampoo, conditioner & shower gel but in reality there is the usual shampoo / shower gel combo bottle stuck to the wall 😔, property feels tired, needs some new bed covers etc as ours had holes.

The hotel had lots of character, bed was very comfortable. Location was good and within walking distance of town and sights. The staff were very helpful. Great courtyard.

We were told that the pool was closed. It actually wasn’t and we only found out on the day we were leaving. Perhaps the pool being open could have been communicated to the guests. The staff were great but they all seemed paranoid and presenting you with your bill and asking for immediate payment, which I found slightly distasteful if we are guests at the hotel and perhaps wanted more than one coffee.

Beautiful old convent just inside town walls with a pretty courtyard garden and pool. Private parking on site. Excellent value for money. We had the superior double with terrace, and although the weather was bad we were very happy with the room, comfortable bed, up dated bathroom, large glsss door onto private terrace and over looking garden and out over the country side. Good, varied breakfast too with hot and cold options. Very close to cafés and restaurants snd 5 minute walk up into the main plaza. Friendly helpful service too. A bonus was the meeting of the local folk chorus band performing in the restaurant on traditional instruments. We were invited to join in the rousing chorus and my husband to play! Great fun !!

Loved the hotel. Only small thing was that the hot water sometimes took a long time to get hot from tepid, but understand able with the layout of the the old convent.

We had a lovely, large room with a patio door that opened overlooking a very nice street view. Lovely traditional tile headboard to the bed and grand curtains over the door. Breakfast was fantastic, the breakfast room was really beautiful, and the staff (Catarina?) talked with us briefly and we enjoyed chatting with her about life in Elvas. Lovely outside terrace with a great view of the surrounding area. Friendly staff. We felt at home here. Olive trees near the pool and a courtyard full of orange trees. We loved the spacious courtyard and beautiful trees.

Everything was great! In fact, we stayed an extra day.

Beautiful old Monastery sat on the city walls and tastefully converted to a hotel. Quirky, but comfortable with a lovely enclosed courtyard garden where you can drink under the Orange trees. Breakfast and Dinner were both very good value. All the history of the city, main Plaza and Castle (nice cafe) are in easy walking distance.

The swimming pool not open until sometime in June. You also need a bit of patience for the hot water to come through to the shower, but this is understandable with such a big old building.

This was a great place to stay during my motorcycle trip around Spain and Portugal. The hotel is perfectly located for access to the old historic centre. Motorcycle parking is perfect inside the courtyard and the staff could not have been more helpful at check in and during my stay. The accommodation itself was really nice and comfortable, my room was good as were the general facilities and I enjoyed my breakfast (which was additional to the room rate - but decent value). I suppose the best recommendation i can give is to say that I would stay there again without hesitation.

There was nothing at all that I didnt like, Next time I'm down this way I will stay in Elvas again and will use this hotel, although next time I will stay for more than one night.

If you want to visit the 17th Century defences of Elvas and the matching Star Fort, this is the hotel to stay at. Right on the walls at the entrance into the old town. Old fashioned hotel in the good sense. Excellent and helpful staff. Note that car parking can be difficult in old Elvas so take that into account. Once you park, do not move until necessary. Elvas also still has a garrison of Portuguese military. Do visit the Military Museum, it is very interesting and you might see the horses that are still keep there.

The restaurant in the hotel had a limited menu. Bar was fine for drinks and snacks. This is an old building, I would guess late 18th century so the room organisation is unusual. Lovely room, but only a view into what might once have been a internal open patio. Play extra and get a room with an outside view, preferably out over the 17th walls

Gorgeous, historic buildings - a former convent - with lots of interesting areas to explore. The pool was beautiful but not in use yet. The courtyard was lovely, and our deluxe double bedroom looked over it. Our room was quite large and the bathroom as well, and the entire place was very comfortable. We felt like we were right in the middle of a special time in history in Portugal. There's so much to explore in Elvas, and the hotel is a great way to start.

Love the old traditional monastery Love the town so much to see. Breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful. Car parking good. Definitely stay Comfy bed and good restaurant with great food and prices

We had a room with a very loud air con buzzing sound that was not in our room. At midnight we could stand it no longer, we couldn’t sleep. Staff were very good and dealt with it well transferred us to a quieter room. We then slept well. Thank 😊 you

Fantastic hotel situated inside the medieval fort. Looks and feels very atmospheric and authentic, but it has all the modern features. Everything was clean and comfortable, staff is nice and friendly. The hotel has its own free private parking, but it can be full in high season. But anyway there are a lot of free parkings quite close to the hotel, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Breakfast was good, but nothing special
