Alcamim Guesthouse is located right outside the old town which makes it great for those arriving with car (there is a free municipal car park right across the street - no need to drive into old center with tiny one-way confusing roads) and for walking to all the sights on foot. Staff was friendly and helpful - watched our bags until check-in and provided directions to sights. Our room was cozy but there were very comfortable Tempur-Pedic feeling beds and water pressure/temperature (ie plenty of hot water) was great. Our room was street facing so my husband heard street noise during the night but as I regularly sleep with earplugs, I was fine and slept well. Highly recommend, would stay again.

Great location, you can walk everywhere from there. They also provide complementary cold/hot water, tea bags, coffee, cutlery, glasses, etc, at the entrance for guests use. There is also a microwave. The room was very clean, huge comfortable bed and it was waiting us with A/C on. Perfect because it was a very hot day. They helped us with our bags to our room. Very welcoming.

It is a renovated older building, it has it's charm, but the old wooden stairs can be cumbersome to go up and down. We were totally fine with it, but I can imagine someone with bad knees having a hard time. Also our window shutters didn't close all the way down and we were woken up very early because our room window faced East.

It's excellent value for money. There's aircon that works well. It's an old character building and the beds are comfy enough. There is free parking very closely located outside. A good location for exploring the town. It's pet-friendly with no extra/ hidden charges. The staff are very helpful and amiable.

It's not the Ritz in terms of decor and modernity, some of the fittings (e.g. bathroom door handle) were a bit worn but for the price it's overall great value.

Great value, Daniel was really friendly and helpful and spoke good English. A very nice location, great for dogs, free parking right opposite property, easy to find. There is a lovely restaurant within 1 mins walk, supermarket right nearby 1 min walk, fridge and microwave for guests to use. Stairs no problem for us or our dog! Lovely visit to Elvas. Nothing great guest house

The staff was very polite. The rooms were very nice. The position of the structure was also very good because it was exactly in the center of the city

If I have to find something, in my room, which had a glass wall dividing the bed area from the bathroom and it was very nice, the light could pass very easily therefore it wasn't completely dark in the morning. I suggest to put a curtain to stop the light.

Everything was expected: nice and clean room. Check-in was easy and the person in charge of that was kind. It is located close to a parking that is free for now, which was very convenient, and not too far away from the historic center. We had a nice stay, and, considering the price we paid, very good quality/price rate.

As stated in the description, bear in mind that there is no elevator. We were aware of this, so it was not a problem for us.

I did like the customer service provided by the owner of the guest house . They gave us complete details and information about where to leave the car , to eat and drink. They are very caring and trustworthy people. I highly recommend you stay there for one night if you like calmness , peace and be in the city centre .

The best guesthouse I have ever stayed in. It’s stylish but kept the rustic vibe, perfect location, staff very friendly and welcoming. There are refreshments in the reception which you have full access to. Location is perfect for exploring and two car parks opposite the hotel. We had a view of the Forte De Santa Luiza it was great.

The room was well-cleaned and there were plenty of towels for us to use. The view from the room looked out towards Spain. The property has filtered hot and cold water in the entry.

While the room was nice, in the bathroom there was an air freshener that was on a timer to put out its fragrance. The smell was a little strong for our preferences.

I chose the guesthouse as a last minute addition to my journey as I really wanted to return to explore Elvas. The location is ideal as it sits within the city walls and offers the chance to stay within an authentic Portuguese townhouse. The room was more than adequate though I always prefer my own kettle and tea-making facilities in a room whereas the guesthouse offers this in a communal space. Really the location and cost were spot on.
