I love the fact this hotel is so friendly and comfortable. Most of their customers are business people but I use the hotel when I visit my son, daughter in law and grandson. It is about a 10 minute walk into the town centre but there is a Lidl about 10 minutes walk away from town and a newly opened 'China Star' which has virtually anything and everything you could want. There is a buffet breakfast every morning with a great choice of food for everyone and there is a little bar selling bar snacks. Just over the road is a lovely restaurant and another one next to the shoe shop on the way into town.

The hotel does need a little TLC for instance cracked tiles in bathrooms, windows which don't fit too well but nothing to bother me for the price. I will always choose to stay here when I visit Tondela

The breakfast was okay but the location was great. A quick walk away from most of the city. The staff was very respectful, friendly, and helpful. I missed an important bus to a flight and the staff at the front desk helped my schedule a route to catch my flight with an alternative bus and taxi.

The room didn’t have a fridge which made food planning somewhat stressful. It also had no overhead fan to help circulate air. A staff member who cleaned my room also missed the sign on the door to not clean the room.

Our second stay at Hotel SJ, it was as great as the first. Spotlessly clean in public areas and in our room. Large comfortable room with huge bed. Spacious bathroom, endless hot water. Excellent breakfast served in splendid dining room. Lots of parking, charging facilities too. Location at the top of the town, on the southern entry. Courteous, helpful staff.

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the town centre. There is plenty of parking although I didn't have a car. The rooms are huge - or at least the one I had with a balcony. Breakfast is from 8 till 10 buffet style but there is plenty of food although if you stay a while it is repetative but freshly laid out and an unbelievable choice of cereals,3 fruit juices, breads, home made jam amongst other spreads, fresh fruit, yogurts, meats and cheeses, a coffee machine but also freshly brewed coffee, choice of semi skimmed, lactose free and oat milk plus sachets of all tea types. The breakfast room has 9 tables but more just outside and also on the terrace, all of which overlook the pool and for football fans, Sporting Club Tondela's ground. There is a small lounge, bar where you can get limited bar snacks, sun loungers around the pool plus a couple of parasols and gazebos. There is also a small whirlpool. There are rooms with balconies overlooking the pool and football ground and some rooms without balcony overlooking the pool or car park. The bedrooms are air conditioned/heated, television and water is supplied as is shower gel and soap. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a coffee machine. Beds and towels changed frequently and the hotel is very eco friendly. The staff are all friendly and speak a bit of English. I have stayed before and will be back in December. The hotel just feels like home.

The pillows are quite soft but when you use two of them, I found them uncomfortable but eventually got used to them. There was no milk with the coffee machine though coffee pods, tea bags and sugar were supplied. Also some of the decor, particularly the bath room ceilings, need attending to.

The location was VERY convenient for the N2. Actually could not have been better!

The bed were so uncomfortable! I’ve never experienced a more uncomfortable mattress. I will most likely remove the hotel from further N2 tour group rides. All of the riders in this group complained about the mattresses in their rooms.

Truly a 5-star hotel in the heart of Tondela. Excellent services all around! The rooms are spacious and quiet, the English-speaking staff is amazing, and the included breakfast is great, with options for all kinds of diets. Healthy healthy healthy!! I stayed at a couple of other nearby hotels that offered similar accommodations for the same price, but this one is much much better.

Exceptional and large breakfast, Polite reception staff who all speak English. Large room with large bathroom.

There is a charge of €2,50 per towel for the use of the pool: this is unheard of at a full-service business hotel. We did not realise when booking that all the standard rooms all come with seperate twin beds. Paying €40 extra for a double bed for 3 nights is a bit much.

Great hotel and staff.

Everything was great with the exception of no fridge in the room. This is badly needed if staying for a few days.

very welcoming staff that allowed us to book in early and as we were soaking from riding over the mountains they made us hot soup and a toastie even though the kitchen was closed. they secured my motorcycle in a garage as well. old fashion service in a modern hotel. large bedrooms and bathrooms.

bed was a bit hard for our liking. they could put a topper on it as it was like a plank.

Lovely hotel with excellent outdoor pool.didnt see much of the town as arrived late but recommended a nice restaurant a couple of hundred metres down the road
