Very friendly staff who are happy to accommodate kids' needs, beautiful pools (especially the saltwater lagoon), gorgeous landscaping. Lots of seating and shade near the pools. Room was large and very comfortable. We also loved how quiet the guest room wings are - absolutely no sound disturbances. The dinner restaurants on site are excellent. Nice (if pricey) spa.

Very pricey breakfast options. The beach is not good for swimming. Pool restaurants don't open until 11AM, which is a bit of a problem with hungry, jetlagged kids, and don't have any coffee. If traveling with kids, just know that there is a 42 inch minimum height requirement for the water slide. They won't (or more likely legally can't) budge on that, even if a kid can swim, so just FYI to avoid disappointment.

The pools are the most wonderful I have ever swum in. Magical, relaxing, fun. Grounds are unsurpassed in beauty. The beach is amazing and the surf is sporty to say the least. We had a ground floor room in the west wing not far from lu’au area. Perfect but oh my what a LONG corridor to reception!! Enough sunbeds and towels for everyone. Staff absolutely delightful. Loved the shampoos and conditioners. Loved having a tub and shower. Wonderful good value taster session on golf course for our son. Loved the ice and washer dryer machines. Perfect! Nice shops. Perhaps a book selection? Or book exchange (how Aloha would that be 🫶)

We booked the room for three (including our son) but we had to ask for the sofabed to be made up and there was only two of everything in the room. Two cups, two robes, two glasses? Seems so stingy at this price point. Would love some way for teens to connect.

Overall design of resort, location are fantastic and views are breathtaking. Including pool, dining areas, and rooms. Very good staff. Kind, polite, helpful. Truly a place you could love to be in! Pool area and service around it are one of the highlights. They too need upkeep. However, for a 5 star hotel and price point we expected more. See below.

The resort is aging and so are many of the basics. It needs some serious investment in renewal and updating. A few examples: - Pool side chairs and tables broken/sagging. Pool area needs power wash. Pool should be skimmed every morning - Towels and linens overused - Shabby carpet in lobby area and corridors - Resupplying of room and bedroom inconsistent Overall, we did have 10 amazing days there and really enjoyed ourselves. However, we think that Hyatt could do better with such an amazing place they built, and we hope they do!

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful, HUGE and clean pool with an adult section, plenty of lounge chairs so no need to frantically search for a place to relax at the pool, gorgeous beach and fantastic hiking area right next to the resort, fabulous food/restaurants in the resort, wonderful local artist kiosks every day in the lobby, very receptive and courteous staff, quiet and very comfortable beds…. I cannot say enough about this wonderful resort….great location on the south shore close to just about everything….only the north shore is “far”, but even that is a shorter drive than going anywhere back home!

VERY expensive food…outrageous….although the food was good, paying $25 for a hummus wrap and $15 for a non-alcoholic beveridge for lunch is ridiculous….every day lunch for me and my 2 teenage children ran $130 with tip and tax.

This resort was absolutely beautiful. Was one of the most amazing and best resort stays. I have experienced within the Hyatt resort group company. I look forward to many more stays with Hyatt has been a great great great experience. Hyatt is one of the best resorts out there especially the grand Kauai Hyatt resort exceeded beyond expectations. Look forward to coming back.

From our experience staying, there was nothing that was inconvenient or unsatisfactory

Beautiful property everyone was very nice. The property itself was beautiful and loved the fact that the pools were open 24 hours. Walking the property was gorgeous and the beach is beautiful.

The beds were very uncomfortable. Our sheets never got changed. Food was unfortunately mediocre. And not allowing walk-ins for two of their restaurants was something that was sad, as there were many open tables.

This was my favorite place to stay during my three weeks in Hawaii. The staff was excellent. The early check in was very much appreciated! The rooms were nice and very clean, although could possibly use an update. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The pool was excellent, and so were the restaurants I visited. I appreciated the separate parking lot for guests that didn't want to pay $50 per day for valet.

The only mark against this place for me was the gym. It was still an above average gym for a hotel / resort, but considering the cost I think this would an area to work on and improve. The rooms could be slightly more modern for the price, but that's nitpicking.

That everything was at your fingertips. The staff was amazing. Our room was perfect location. The housekeepers were amazing. The resort was just all around beautiful. We really enjoyed our time at the Hyatt

The only thing we weren’t used to was how expensive the drinks were at the resort in itself. When we left the resort it was a lot cheaper.

The pools were wonderful, especially the lazy river and salt water lagoon. The jacuzzis were rather small but nicely situated. Beautiful landscaping and engaging birds. Our room had a lovely ocean and beach view and outside seating area. The food, drink and service was excellent. We loved the luau and the live music on the Seaview Terrace.

Everything in the Resort is fantastic. I enjoyed swimming in the 24-hour learning pool every day. I loved all the hospitality and service from the hotel, especially 'Learning Hawaiian language'. I had a 30 minute Hawaiian language class with my partner. I learned how to read them and the beauty of the language, which was super helpful to understand Hawai'i for the rest of the trip. I highly recommend their Pad Thai at TidePool, one of the hotel restaurants, which was the best one in my life, better than anything I had in Thailand. Also the Hyatt made it possible for a friend to pay for our stay in advance as a wedding gift, unlike for example the Marriott hotel in Honolulu, which was completely rude and unhelpful about this.
